Great to have Le mans in GT Sport, and then of course they have ruined it by giving 3 second penalties for going 0.1cm too far over the kerbs. Why they can't just have a standardised rule of two wheels on the main track is clean is beyond me.

Anyone else struggling for fuel in the Porsche? To get the fuel to last 3 laps i'm having to short shift and do a little coasting into the braking zones.

Damn I couldn't race at all last night. The internet got so bad it kept disconnecting from the server or fail during matchmaking. Now it's fine again I'm going on a bike ride for a swim in Lake Erie and come back. That will take about 5 hours, 110 km round trip, but at least there won't be any lag :) It is 28c feels like 34 atm, going up to 32c feels like 41 by the time I get to the lake. Endurance ride take lots of water, I love the heat.

Hopefully my internet will hold out for this evening yet I'm starting to wonder whether it's on my end at all. It has been slowing down during prime time for weeks now with last week ping times dropping into the red and now Friday and Saturday night it started crapping out completely. No upload bandwidth or estimates down to 86 kb/s, ipv6 errors, socket errors. 2018, my 9600 baud modem from nearly 3 decades ago was more reliable.

I'm hoping for a night of LeMans, otherwise it will be Bladerunner 2049 (blu-ray, netflix won't work either) and Detroit become human, perfect combination. Jealous of all that got to race GR.3 Le Mans yesterday!

How's DT on sr today? XD

I love Dragon Trail and had one of my most fun races the last time Gr.2 made an appearance. However, after a good race at Alsace last night my DR is a mere 2,375 points away from A. I'm not going anywhere near that track now. Time to go to that alternate account! 👍

Anyone else struggling with the Hybrids because they can't properly contain the power at the exits?

Either I'm too careful and then too slow or or go on the gas way too much and car understeers and I don't make the corner. Because of that I'm legit faster with the Mazda VGT because it is so much more comfortable to drive

Porsche basically goes in a straight line as soon as the hybrid kicks in, the Audi doesn't understeer anywhere near as badly. Don't know about the Toyota because it's too slow to bother with

And the tumble down continues. Race C was very unkind. Since the best time I could manage was in the R92CP, that's what I raced. But my best time was apparently still crap, so I qualified P11. The grid was primarily DR/B with a mix of SR/S and A. 4 x DR/C, a D and an A/A. I think DP is telling me to go pound sand .

The race starts and I immediately get mauled by Audis and Porsches. They bullied their way through the chicanes and tight corners. I also discovered that their brakes are *way* better than mine :scared:. I did have 2 things going for me. It does 3 laps before needing fuel, and it eats the rest of the cars for breakfast on the straits. I finished P14.

Despite only seeing one orange SR, I lost another 7 points. DR down another 385. One more loss like that and its 2k down and the holiday is over. One more day visiting DR/C. :D
Just wanted to say that I really like your writing, reminds me of my own struggles :) That said I think you are wrong to moan about Dr loss, because if you don't try you will never learn. I too am losing dr in DR C and gaining depends on the track, but I seriously need to learn some tracks :) if you like add me as friend on PSN (absbrain-GB) maybe we'll meet somewhere. Greetings.

Race C was a great one for me today! Did 3 Races without Qualifying and finished 3 times in the top 3, just with try to avoid every penalty possibility and some fuel saving in the 908 peugot. Went from D/E to C/C!

Matchmaking finished > Have pole position  > Warm up starts > Enter track >...

Game has crashed (CE:34878)

Great, thanks

Le Mans, a track i really looked forward to, fast cars, big track, technical parts and high top speeds.. but ohhh boy i am not doing good on that track.
I did one race with the GR3, and i do not have the speed, i feel am tooo slow. Today i did a few laps with the Audi and the Porsche, and again i have real trouble finding speed. My breaking points are all over the place, and the stupid track limits causes me to tiptoe around corners.. And that Porsche curve.. argh you really have to hit it dead on with a DS4, any kind of correction really messes up the entry to the next corner..

And it shows, i am in the top 40% with the GR1, tracks that i am very good at has me around 15-20 , i gotta a long way to go on this track...

I tried my old friend the R92CP in arcade mode at la Sarthe and it just doesn't handle very well any more. :irked:
I used the Toyota because of the real Le Mans.
During my race, I caught the R92CP and left it in the dust. It's speed couldn't compensate for the Toyota's acceleration and handling. Guess it's true to live, but a shame.

Gr.1 Class
・Dodge SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.1) [Power Ratio : 85% > 87%]
・Jaguar XJR-9 '88 [Power Ratio : 88%]
・McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo (Gr.1) [Power Ratio : 90% > 87%]
・Mercedes-Benz Sauber Mercedes C9 '89 [Power Ratio : 86%]
・Nissan R92CP '92 [Power Ratio : 87%]

・Peugeot L750R HYbrid Vision Gran Turismo, 2017 [Power Ratio : 96% > 88%]

With Class C cars given a hefty downgrade on power. One would think that BoP is getting altered in the next update or two.

Got my 10th win, and it was my first race on the Le Sarthe. Of course I had to use the TS050, which I qualified in 3rd. It was a good race, even with getting punted at Mulsanne Corner, on the opening lap. Which dropped me down to 7 or 8th. Managed to claw back into third by the end of lap 2, and the 2nd place guy, then pitted at the end of lap 2. I stayed out, and managed to close the gap to first by 2 seconds, at the end of lap 3.

I then decided not to change tires, and put enough fuel in for laps 4 and 5. I managed to leap frog 1st place guy, with a 2 second cushion. But I missed my braking point going into Mulsanne, and ended up getting passed, and 1.5 seconds behind first. Manged to catch him back up on Mulsanne Straight, before the first chicane, and mange to pass him going into it. I then was able to keep my lead, and win. He also had a 3 second penalty, so I had a bigger margin than I thought.

A couple of mistakes, gave me some .5 second penalties, but I knew how I got it, so I could avoid them during the race. One big one was a 3 second penalty, going into Arnage, when there was 4 vehicles going into the corner. But I was able to work off that penalty too. Fun race, as I didn't get to do the GR.3 race, because I was watching Le Mans.

Edit: Now with full video of the race.

I should have left the old tyres on. I know that cost me time. I was in 10th and worked up to 5th. Catching the 4th place car just as we both pitted. I was right behind at pit exit, but the pace of that player was pretty quick in the run to the finish.

I would catch up at the final two chicanes, at the end of the lap, but to no avail.

My work can pay sometimes...

Tomorrow (18-06-2018) races:

Race A: One-Make | Circuit de la Sarthe | 1 Lap | Sport Hard
Race B: GR.B | Willow Springs International Raceway: Streets of Willow Springs II | 6 Laps | Sport Softs
Race C: GR.3 | Dragon Trail Seaside | 10 Laps | Tyres x9 Fuel x6 | Racing Hard

Race A - Three days in a row at Le Mans? I wonder what the car is... So slow that it can only yield one lap?

Race B - Would much rather see Gr B on racing hards...

Yeah, I was debating if I should or not, and not having raced on the track before. I decided to take that chance, of not taking tires. It paid off, and if it wasn't for me missing my braking point. It would have been a little easier race for me, but it still worked out in the end.

Another problem with Gr C at the moment is the fuel consumption. If the Gr C were to get a BOP increase in power, it would be difficult to get 3 laps at Le Mans.

If more Gr C cars were added, like the Nissan RC89, Minolta Toyota 88 C-V or even the Mazda 787B then there should be a separate Gr C class.

One can dream on I guess!

Race A will yield a double/triple whammy of fastest lap, win (bankable) and maybe pole position.

This combo is pointless! Every time they put it up an army of crap driver cut the track in half and top the leaderboards! Total waste of time 👎

Snagged 11 wins at Le Mans this weekend, 2 yesterday and 9 today. Qualified a low 3:22 with the 919 and that got me poles almost all day long.

Last race of the night I used a Group C instead. Despite having pole I finished 5th. The straight speed is absolutely mental, but the ~4 seconds a lap you lose on all the braking zones really adds up. Plus, you absolutely have to swap tires when you pit, so that's another handful of seconds you lose.

I'm pretty sure the Group c's would dominate the no-chicane version of the track though. PD plz

People were arguing with me about how Group C's times are similar to LMP1, even with chicanes.

But now people are asking for a no-chicane track? So that's how it is
