You're around 25th with DR C compared to other C guys. And 4.22 is a time from 211th to 285th in Europe.

You should aim for a 4.20 to have a good place on the starting grid 👍

Thank you!

It was a quick attempt before I headed to work and I was a bit scrappy through the Porsche Curves so I suspect 2 seconds is easily achievable.

Determined I am going to have a win at La Sarthe, it's my second favourtie world track (Spa is tops) and 25 races so far 10 top ten finishes
and 5 poles means I know a win is there I just have to not keep making mistakes in the final stages of the race.

I dunno man, I managed to snag some easy wins in the 458 yesterday.
The trick (for me) was to not downshift too early at the esses (destabilizing the rear) but hold 5th until the kerb, and use 3rd not 2nd to drive through the dipper

I've cued up a good lap, so you can see what I mean :)

Just amazing ! That second last corner, but you remained cold as ice. Great win mate !

I wanted to race Alsace and set pretty decent time, then I remembered it's gr2, 4 laps on tight track and got flashbacks from the past races where people forget the brakes on T1 and bump pass on last esses..

No racing for me today.

Alsace is fun, flows well in the faster GR.2 cars. Have set a 1:43.221 but think I can get quicker, not raced yet so it may all go to **** :D

Which of the Grp2 cars did you use for this time?

The Lexus mate, I tried the NSX but it squirms a bit too much for me under braking and turning. The GTR, again, seems to lack the pace

I thought so, I set a 1:46 with the Lexus and was curious if the NSX was any better but I'll stick with the Lexus when I get back to setting
laps after work.

I think the track limits are fine. I don't agree with the severity of the penalties, but I think the limits themselves are in the right places.

I would agree for the training sessions and qualifying, but not for races!
If you ever have to avoid someone, or a crash, you have to use more of the track (wich is pretty common in real racing). But if you do in GTS, especially in Le Mans, you get served with a 10sec penalty for simply avoiding chaos.

Monza was a mess too when it came out, but they adjusted the track-limits and penalties and now, this is one great track to race on.
So why they made the same mistake with La Sarthe? Idk... Maybe they want people to learn the track first and then loosen the limits later!? Hopefully :)

I spent all day Monday at La Sarthe in the Golf, and it was a bit chaotic. Pretty much every race, I was hit and either pushed inside of the apex at Dunlop chicane, or pushed wide on the exit. I never received a penalty for any of those instances, but if I'd driven there on my own, I would have done.

I didnt race with the Golf, but I recognized that in another Race A too. The penalties seem to work differently there, compared to race B or C where it's way more strict.
And another factor of course is your Driver rating! I'm back at DrA/SrS and its very, veeerry strict.

At this point, I dont even know how the system works anymore. It behaves so unpredictable....

Well I for one personally think I have learnt about the track limits on La Sarthe and possibly a few interesting loopholes. (not revealing so don't ask :)) and I think they are fine except possible the infamous last corner.

Had you asked me a fortnight ago I would have been muttering because it took me ages to start getting lap times posted for the daily race.

The only penalty I feel is a harsh one is when you come towards the Porsche corners after the last long straight and you can in some cars
go flat out through that corner before the heavy braking into the sharp left hander yet the game decrees you have "shortcutted" the corner
so applies a penalty to the lap.

I was back to BB or even BC for most of that day.

I only did 3 race C last night, didn't really like the Audi and the pace was too slow on that wide track for my liking. I had a fun battle for last in the 3rd race, then moved up a couple positions from people crashing and serving penalties. 9th and twice 14th was all I could do with that car (without qualifying).

Daily C last night was an even bigger SR resource than Big Willow. According to https://www.jasonguernsey.net/gts/home/race-history Big Willow was worth up to 21 points per race at SR.S, Yamagiwa+Miyabi a whopping 24 points. The few red ratings must have been really misbehaving to get that. Red dots were of course still the must have item of the day. I got one penalty last night when I got rear ended mid corner after my back broke out. 2 sec for both of us (was an A+ that made contact). I'm back in DR.A...

I'm not a fan of Alsace, not at all, too wide, but perhaps GR.2 will make it a bit more interesting. Worth a try. GR.4 seems a tad slow for Sarthe, however I thought that of GR.3 as well and that was a lot of fun. 3 laps for race C is basically still a sprint race though :/ I might lose interest in the straights and miss my braking points...

Got my podium and I'm done.

Really surprised by how many people just go flat out all evening. However, I can understand many may just be getting on, after work and other activities.

Can someone give me some general pointers regarding qualifying/racing? I keep thinking that being on pole might help - especially with that trophy associated with it - but I've also heard that starting towards the middle of the pack is ideal for if you wanna ultimately improve your position at the race's end. Also, was Tokyo Expressway East with the Golf the other day just especially a bad combo? If not, how do I learn to avoid the brainlets who punt into me because they don't know how to brake when turn 1 is coming up?

Get pole as much as you can, you're never gonna want the midfield with all the carnage and penalties they give

And yes, Tokyo East is just a bad combo

I tried streaming in 1080p60fps last night and to my surprise it looks like I have the bandwidth for it.

Here's the last 3 laps of my final race gaining back 4 positions I lost from a spin. And one murder (accidental, so I guess that's just manslaughter?) but the judge let me off with no penalty.

@NosOsH
we had some close racing last night but you need to learn to chill a bit when there's traffic ahead. you bumped me off twice yesterday in the same race while i had no where to go.

here:

then a lap later here:

both times im in or behind a battle, you can't just go in full race pace behind me like that :(

Not a happy day race wise. Two races. C and A. Race C I did a pretty crappy time but still qualified P5. Was happy with that.

The race started and I was having a hard time dealing with the crowd who seemed determined to hit me from all 4 sides at once! Orange SR from that and a penalty. That just got worse. I was faster than the person in front of me on Mulssane so he kept moving from side to side and slowing down in front of me, and I couldn't brake in time, then when I did manage to get next to him he kept trying to push me to the wall. That kinda ticked me and put me off my rhythm, so a series of track violations followed. I locked up the brakes on lap 2 and 3 at the first chicane on Mulssane and found the wrong parts of various obstacles. That slowed me down a lot and racked up the penalties. I just wanted the race to end, but I kept on going. By the time I was done I was P12.

DR down not much, but SR dropped even further. I expect it to go up on Race Cs. that's two in a row. Not happy. :grumpy:

Decided to do race A with no qualifying and just potter around to try get some of my SR back. That idea when down the drain when no one seemed ready for a standing start and i found myself in a pack trying to thread through but getting bashed around. Its hard not to hit or be hit when you are surrounded. Added to that was my mistake twice on the final corner where I just couldn't stop the slide no matter how I turned or braked, pushing the driver on the outside off. Couldn't tighten the turn, couldn't scrub speed to drop in behind. Wasn't pretty. Rightly I was given orange SRs in both cases. I came in 2nd from second last.

DR up, but I'm now SR/B. Seems the lower my SR gets the harder it is to get a clean race and actually race. <sigh> Maybe tomorrow will be better :indiff:.

any of you ever had this glitch? all the other cars were stationary, probably some connection incompatibility(finished the race 10th,so the others were racing normally)
