I did some experimenting with the penalty system tweaks today hoping that bump drafting on Bluemoon is now allowed. It's not really. I still got a red S next to a clean race bonus for bump drafting and no other contacts during the race. The car I pushed never hit the wall or any other car, luckily got the blue S, so it's still only the one that pushes that gets the hidden deductions (no SR down no penalties) The SR damage did seem to be lower as before for bump drafting, yet it was only a 10 lap race of which it took half the race to find a stable driver to push.

Messing around from the back on Bluemoon had the usual shenanigans, with the difference that much less penalties are given out. At least it's easier on the eyes without all those flashing signs above all the cars :) 10 laps was really way too short to draft bump to the front from last. You already start almost 5 sec behind with congestion and accidents in the first few laps to deal with.


I switched to Brand's hatch, one of my favorite tracks, unfortunately with my least favorite GRMeganeTrophy4. Not getting much done in the Viper I decided to give the meta a try. First flat out with a pit stop in lap 10 without tire change. Stopping so late and not changing tires anyway felt rather unnecessary so fuel saving it is then. First fule saving race I miscounted and had to drop all the way to fuel map 6 to make it to the finish, finished 11th doh.

The winning strategy for a lazy automatic driver was, start in fuel map 3, draft for most of the race, switch to 2 in lap 8 or when needed to catch the next car's slipstream, switch to 1 for the final 1.5 laps. That got me a 5th and 6th place. The race with the 5th place was with a 10 sec penalty from a car hitting the car in front of him and the insta-slowdown got me. That's still the same. The one where I got 6th I got bumped off in the last lap by a driver who then also bumped off the car I was following in the next corner. He didn't get a penalty for either. Thanks PD, so much better....

Anyway DR lost from experimenting on Bluemoon recovered and made some extra on Brand's, slightly over 2K to go to DR.A. It almost seems easier to recover from a reset without qualifying.
 
Seems like there will be no Race C anymore:

Are the FIA races weighted higher for DR? I did two races yesterday 1) FIA National race and was disconnected 2) daily C, which I won but in a very weak room. My DR yesterday went from 44,200 to 41,900..
 
No race C, then it's either one make bumper cars or group specific bumper cars.

Edit: Seems like it's bumper cars for all races today.

They've lost the plot, no Race C will mean I don't play most days, a Race C that is awful like this has the same result anyway. :odd:

Yesterday i raced only the Race-B following the personal rule "use only one car only one time" .
I had seven consecutive clean races e neither a red "S" in nine races :sly: :dopey: ...
Every race without qualification time, i did it .. before to switch off the game/console and go to bed ...:O

race 1 - Peugeot VGT
race 2 - Ferrari 458 italia
race 3 - Ford mustang
race 4 - Alfa Romeo 4C
race 5 - Mazda Atenza
race 6 - Honda NSX
race 7 - McLaren 650S
race 8 - Renault Sport R.S.01 (*)
race 9 - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition

(*) the only race without the clean race bonus , due to a "connational" :mischievous: who did the last turn in "kamikaze" or "hot lap" mode ..:mischievous:

This is how I feel right now after racing on Alsace. I've never actually had a really bad experience on that track, and usually never see dirty drivers on this late, but I just had a Megane Trophy dive in inside from 100 ft back going into that final chicane. I barely recovered, went inside into final straight, collided with him and I got a 10 second penalty, he got nothing.

Then he did the same thing, dove into me on the inside of that chicane before the uphill segment at full speed, sent me into the wall. He got a minor penalty. He went on, I went from 5th down to 13th after the penalty was served at end, he got 5th.

I am so livid. These penalty system changes are ABSOLUTE 🤬. Between these penalty changes and the Megane Trophy, I'm about done with Sport mode.

I feel your pain from yesterday on Blue Moon and Brands Hatch this morning before daily races changed over. I am also finished unless today's races go better.
 
If you want a chuckle then try the normal Meganne in the race instead of the Trophy at Alsace in Race B. From the exit of the 1st corner to the next braking point it is probably a couple of tenths faster so you can actually overtake. It is slower for the rest of the lap, but it is funny to blast past people up the hill.

Admittedly you will have to be careful not to overshoot the braking for the corner as the overspeed is quite large.
 
And there are the final chicane cuts in Race A again.. Still 7th at the moment with a clean lap. But pole isn't so much worth here, because of the looong straight. I always watch them crash at the end of the straight, had 2 wins and several second places already today. Fun race.

My SR is down after yesterday's FIA, but it looks like I will not be recovering it today. I'll wait for Friday.
