@mthomas_95 great time in race C!

Quick question, how many laps did it take you to achieve a lap time like that?

I did 2 laps in the SLS first and hated it, then I completed 3 (restarted a couple more) in the Ford. There's a 3:25 if I hook it up when I can be bothered hotlapping it again

I found the cones to be absolutely useless for learning it, you don't see many of them anyway because of the barriers

Hats off to ya mate 3:26 in 3 laps is something else!

Tried Daily C with the new Ford GT LM, seeing as everyone seems to be enjoying it on that particular layout lol. Finished 14th which I was pretty happy about as I couldn't get a proper clean lap for the life of me in quali. I was expecting to be dead last but I had a couple of good tussles in the race. It's a very technical track with lots of twisty bits but there's a mammoth straight midway through the lap that makes up for all the turning. I haven't yet tried the other layouts but so far, it's a welcome addition to the existing circuits.

Anyone struggling with a low SR, compete in Daily A all evening and you'll be back up to SR S in no time. 4 races at Tsukuba in the S600, 4 clean race bonuses.

Who is going to rename this thread to weekly race discussion!

I jumped on the new track with no time to spare for any practice or qualifying or whatever people normally do.

First race I had no clue where I was going and was driving by the mini map mostly. I managed to avoid almost all cars except one that dropped right in front of me before a corner and started braking immediately. That's a bad move under normal conditions, now you put a blindfold on me while I have never seen that upcoming corner before. Oh well 1 penalty, still blue rating, 12th place finish.

From there I have never seen so many DR.A+ DR.A and DR.S in one night. My first 6 races had maybe one DR.B lost among the crowd, tough competition. Tough car and track to learn as well driving from the back. Yet the 7th race I finally pulled off 5 clean laps for the clean race bonus, managed to finish 8th as well as the fast people started leaving.

I should have stopped there. Next race, fewer fast people, more clumsy people... I get punted first, then the same move that got me in the first race. A car switching sides, while everyone is braking already, putting his car in front if mine. Now I'm in his slipstream with no where to go as I'm boxed in and of course I run into him. When do people learn you can't do that! I tap him slightly, just enough so he goes wide, 4 sec penalty. It was the same driver that punted me into the wall before. Then later someone tries to overtake yet nicks the grass. I see him too late, he wobbles into me, touches my bumper and wobbles back. Just the 1 sec penalty for me, yet those 2 contacts dropped me to SR.A, -21 SR for that. What happened?

Then I felt like I should do one more to restore SR. Ugh, SR.A is chaos!!! From mostly DR.A to mostly DR.D (and I still didn't qualify naturally). The first lap was more like playing break out with cars. Well I did break out to 4th, chasing the 3 people that had dropped out of the fast room as well. I stayed pretty much 10 sec behind them for the rest of the race while building up a 40 sec gap to the chaos in the back. No penalties, yet due to all the banging in the first lap, +3 SR, SR.S barely, at 81.

At first I didn't like the track, yet I warmed up to it a little. However GR.1 might be a better fit, 5 laps is short. GR.4 no thanks. It has way too many walls though, blind corners everywhere, annoying. Enough for tonight, I'll see tomorrow if qualifying times are kept for the week, oh wait :)

Saint Croix stats so far, 9 races, avg start 18th, avg finish 10.33, 44 laps. (Timed out on the first race 50 meters short of the line)
DR up 900 to 36K, SR down to 81.

Big news guys.

Daily Races are turning into Weekly Races

https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/news/00_3960825.html

Starting on Monday, July 30, 2018, we will be changing the update interval for daily race events from every day to 1 week.

This will be implemented from the end of the server maintenance on that day.
The hosting hours of the races will not change.

Please continue to enjoy Gran Turismo Sport.
I complete disagree with this week's schedule and thus hate it with all my strength. It is from then on, I can no longer come to this mode everyday.

Sucks that we don't have daily races anymore.

Oh man? So we now have another 5 days of Megane Trophy's in Race B, and the new Gr.3 Ford GT in race C?
I just did 3 race C's and I'm pretty sure I was bleeding DR as I was driving around near the rear of the field.

I had three absolute cracking races at Tsukuba with some crap box honda, picked up a win even, but seriously good fun and epic battles.

Tried Suzuka with Group 4, I don't know why but I am DOG SLOW at suzuka, absolutely hopeless.

Weird, i had three races, all marked as clean (on a three race streak of clean races it says) but SR only went from 51 to 64.

The SR gains on race A are usually very low, a slow car and track combo doesn't help and also you need at least 3 clean races for every 1 that goes south as its far easier to lose SR than earn it. 1 bad race can lose you 10 SR fairly easily and even more if you get unlucky.

WEEKLY RACES?????

WEEKLY RACES?????

What am I going to do! That will certainly have a huge effect on my play style. If Saint-Croix isn't amazing I'll be playing something else by the end of the week and once the addiction breaks....

I hope PD reverses this decision fast. Add a 4th race that stays for a week, perfect. Not keep all 3 for a week. Does qualifying stand for the whole week as well? The best thing of GT Sport was the variety, something new every day. This kills that off completely.

What will certainly end my streak is a combo like this
daily A Alsace One make sports tires
daily B GR.4 NGP
daily C One make GR.4 Magiorre
Something like that bores me to death on a single day :/

Oh well, I'll jump into the new track tonight fully unprepared. Got a week to repair damage anyway.

On the other hand, a whole week of N24 will put me at DR.A+. However a whole week of Interlagos will likely put me at DR.D...

I feel the same but my issue is i don't enjoy a lot of the tracks in the game, so often i don;t race because I don't like the track. Gonna be a dead fish for a week now if it's a bad batch.

For example, right now, i can only do Race A, B and C are of no interest to me.

Hardly anyone is happy about the change to the schedule so hopefully weekly races won't last and we can get the dailies back soon. I am sure we can get some decent lobbies going in the meantime though?

I don't think that will happen anytime soon, I have a very bad feeling we are stuck with this arrangement for some time.

As it happens and as I said yesterday my gaming time is limited just now so the new arrangements suit me since I missed out on a lot of daily races recently.

Shall be interesting to see if any more info comes out from PD on this change but they did the same with changing the race times and they haven't back tracked on that as I preferred the old times of starting than the present arrangements.

Ok, so I'll ask, but may not know the answer til tomorrow, but does your qualifying time stay all week???

Can I qualify today (Tuesday) and not have to qualify again on say, Saturday?

The qualifying times seem roll over, no reset today at least. Hopefully they will change it back to daily Darth_tails, I have already done 20 race Cs this week and its becoming tedious. Oh only 6 more days until it changes?!!

I’m pretty strong in Suzuka Gr 4 and was harvesting DR points and SR points yesterday.
Glad to see it for the week ...

I did one race there, yesterday. I had a clean race and finished 2nd. I lost DR. :irked:

Yeah I understand the tedium, I guess that's my difference in that I don't normally get to sit at the console to do lots of racing.

As it happens I haven't done Race C yet so what time should I be looking to get in qualifying for a good grid place DR C/SR S rank.

Well I am only in B/C at the moment as i lost a lot of points yesterday mainly due to trying to learning the new course and getting knocked about a fair bit especially in the first braking zone which can be a bit of a lottery especially if your not toward the pointy end of the field.
I am currently on a 3:32.765 with the new Ford GT, that's got me 4 poles so far today and 3 wins. But is currently only 831st best time for my region.
