i feel you man , being the sole AMG among all the beetles , at least i have the straight line speed advantage :D

Fighting a losing battle I feel. Can't even out drag one to the line with a far better exit out of the last corner.

I'll have to resort to using the piece of 🤬 I suppose. DR is still increasing so I can hold my own in the FT-1.... Just lol, but why put myself at a disadvantage. (It gets props in the lobby using something else though. I've had "brave" & "props" messaged to me for using something other than the moronic dung Beetle).

i like the little bump just before the long right hander at yamagiwa ,just enough to make you lose the apex , but no penalty given of course

I brought a knife to a gunfight:

Have they changed the door numbering system in the 'Dailies'?

I started every Alsace race yesterday with a 7 on the door, irrespective of the make-up of the room, and today I had number 5 in every race....

Well last night was a bit of a fisasco. My goal was to try and win back precious SR points wiped out by the first Red Bull race of the weekly last Monday. All this week has been a struggle climbing from SR/B back up to S. For a time, things looked promising, but this whole SR down for getting hit by other people that you have no control over is beginning to make wonder why I even bother playing.

I started off the night on with 81 SR. Did Race B in the Audi, started P14/16 with a lot of DR/Bs. Bug city. Finished P9. DR up 100ish, SR up 3. Good start.

Next race, also Race B. Better matching and I started P8/16 with mostly DR/C and D and a few Bs. I got a 3s penalty and SR down when someone ended up ghosted sideways across the width of the track in front of me, and unghosted just as I was about to hit them. Finished P9. SR down 2, DR up a couple of hundred.

I tried to enter Race C, hoping to get some of the 13 SR up for grabs, but instead of matching, I got that screen I posted earlier... I still think @Sven Jurgens did something :p. I had to press the PS button and re-start the game to get out of it. Having missed Race C and Race b wasn't due for another 10 mins or so, I went with Race A with no qualifying. I know it's not worth much, but I figured I could potter around. I *still* managed to have people hit me! The upshot was DR and SR down.

Finaly Race C. There was only 11 on the grid, and somehow I started P4. I'm not a big fan of the race. The differnce between handling in qualifying and the race is too different, even with the tyres warmed up with little wear, and people have *no* patience for slower drivers, they just drive through you as if you weren't there :banghead:. Finished P6. The DR I lost in the previous race a got back a bit, and SR went up.

At the end of the night, my SR is down 3 from where I finished the night before (back into SR/A ). DR up about 150. More racing than usual for me, with nothing to show for it :yuck:. Another day above DR 1 .

I got door number 1 without qualifying 4 days ago! ........

I thought the door number represented your expected finishing position, based on your DR. Don't think it has anything to do with where you qualify.
Yes, the door number is dictated by your DR points going into the race.

For example, Let's take three drivers: one is rated A+/75000 who starts on pole, another is a B/25000 driver who outqualifed the third driver, who is rated A/48000. Then, the game assigns the first driver with door number 1, then the B driver who is ahead will get a 3 instead of 2, which went on to be the door number for the A rated driver.

Up to a point. Once you start having mixed DRs , all bets are off. You would have to wade through posts from the past for a better explanation, but there is also an alphabetised component as well. I've had a door number of 1 with only 1 DR point, and DR/A and B drivers on the grid :).

Door number means if a lower door numbered driver can juuuuust nudge you off they will get a large DR gain, you will get a larger DR loss and they can make up the SR loss with one simple hold position clean race.

I
Mini Cooper at Suzuka. Could switch it up a bit.

Edit
RC F is a rocket at Dragon Trail. No tow and I walked away from the Huracan, 458 & Evo.

I think Veyron will be the dominant car at dragon valley.

An RC Z won the race I was in. Think one Veyron in the race.

Edit
Huracan is numero uno in Asia/Oceania
Top ten dominated by that and RCZ.

Edit2
NSx did really well. One finished 2nd behind an RCF. I moved up oe spot to 9th(though I let everyone past due to my one red bar) and not her NSX finished behind me.

God, Bathurst again. I kept my SR99 every day I raced last week. Last time I tried Bathurst I lost just about all my SR in the first race, took me forever to build it up again.

Common sense says I should avoid that race like the plague. No doubt I'll be back later to report on my new SR ranking lol.

(amazed I kept SR99 after my final race at Yamagiwa - had a mess of a race with collisions and off-track moments. Not watched the replay yet to see what exactly happened).

...The fastest race laps weren't even close to 1:33s. In one race the fastest lap was even a low 1:35! Despite finishing close to last in every race my race pace would have put me in podium or win contention on pace alone (WITHOUT SLIPSTREAM!) in every single race.

So I think what was going on last night was that you had a bunch of mediocre drivers who practiced for hours in the meta car until they got that magic lap, and then went into the race with a car they are more comfortable with and were completely off the pace. It was terrible.
...
Been a frustrating 5 days for me in GTS. I think this is the biggest problem with the weekly format. Too many magical laps and pole farming that just ends up putting inconsistent racers in front and steady/clean racers midfield/back of pack and we all end up taking each other out after getting fed up of racing in a pack 4 seconds of our normal race pace due to the fact that the leaders in race trim are light years behind their magical qualy lap.

I did do a couple Bs this morning and it was "normal", so I hope last night was just a one-off.

That's exactly my opinion. Some riders train like the obsessed ones until they have a great qualifying time. Of course, the track limits are exhausted to the utmost. These drivers probably have many accidents and punishments. But that does not matter in training because there are endless attempts possible.
In the race, of course, this speed can not repeated. They are then slow and provide exactly for such races. I have noticed that some of these drivers are very aggressive and unfair in defending their position. I understand that they do not want to give up their hard-won position. But that does not entitle them to behave like that.
We now see the disadvantages of weekly races in which everyone has as many qualification attempts as he wants. Maybe a limitation of qualifying time would be a solution?

So I'm guessing being 7 seconds off the top 10 times as a B/S doesn't bode well for a race at Bathurst?

This is just like last time, I'll never learn the track if I don't participate but competing will destroy my DR/SR and I'll have to spend weeks recovering :/

I've done two race B's today. So far it seems to be the usual case of everyone still learning the track so the races were a little messy, but I expect this to improve as the week goes on. There is likely two pinch points on the track, the first being the chicane of death. Everyone's entrance speed is a little different so I get nervous as hell if there is someone right in front of me and/or behind me and not knowing what they are going to do.
I had one guy right on my bumber (like practically touching) coming up to the chicane and I usually tap the brakes before the first turn. I was sure I was going to get punted, but wasn't. I must have scared the crap out of him as when I checked the rear view on the way out he was waaaay back! I've also had another guy who I'm sure brake checked me way before the chicane, fortunately which I was able to react in time to and avoid a collision.

The other pinch point is the hairpin after the chicane. It has a weird, wide entry that looks like you are leaving the door open (like the last corners at Fuji) when in reality you are making for a fast exit speed for the straight and downhill esses. I've been punted off there in a way that looked pretty purposeful.

Other than that it was pretty clean racing and I gained over 1000DR and SR is intact from the two races :)

Race B is also looking to be an Audi TT one make.......

I like the track though, even in the reverse format and expect some great racing. Looking forward to Race C too even though I'm far from fast on that track.

Yes, the door number is dictated by your DR points going into the race.

Still can't work out how I had the same number for every race - it's never happened before

Spewin :yuck:. I did race B a couple of times, and attempted Race C. Race B both times qualified P6/14 and 15 respectively. A few DR/Bs but mostly DR/D in both. Race C I started P4/17 with mostly DR/B and only a few of us DR/Ds.

First Race B, I get rammed at the bus stop, then gang banged, finally getting going again with an orange SR and 18s behind second last. After that I was free to just do my laps unimpeded and finished P12. Lost 575 DR and gained 1 SR.

Second race was a bit better. I managed to keep my nose relatively clean, although there was some contact. No penalties. Finished P8. The two who passed me did it cleanly and fairly. I screwed up a corner, so they had better exit speed. DR up 12, SR up 3, and back into SR/S.

Race C was DR/B city, and I was feeling very nervous with 4 in front and another two behind, with the rest scattered. The race starts and Hell Corner was ok, but I think I received a love tap. By the time I hit Conrod I was in P3. I stayed there with a 7s lead on lap 5 and just as I was headed towards Murrys *BOOM*! Friggin disconnect :banghead:. My DR dropped 865, and SR dropped 10. Not.....happy!

Qualification laptime should be one that is be done the moment you want to race and in that order you get your place on the grid .
What you yesterday have done for a good qualification laptime will not say that for example two day's later when you wanna do the race again you will have the same pace/consistence as before .
By the way ....I hate reversed tracks I'm making love going with the clock not against it .

Feeling very disturbed about loosing all that SR I had to really work for, I just didn't feel happy about leaving it there :odd:. I also didn't think I was likely to get another chance at starting so high up on the grid with people two ratings up.. or even with my own group :scared:. Sadly it was going to be a while before the Mountain would be open for business, so another go at Race B while I waited. Sadly it wasn't ready when I finished, and it's too late to wait, so that's it for the night. I found myself in P2 on a grid of mostly DR/D with a couple of DR/B thrown in.

I was doing well with a nice gap behind me and only about 1s behind P1, when on lap 3 I messed up the chicane before the last corner and found myself sliding sideways with much smoke, settling on the edge of the track. Zoom Zoom go P3 and 4. Not having recovered from that I got lost at the bus stop and thought it was a corner. Instead of easing off the throttle a hair, I dropped down two gears :banghead:. Coming up to the next corner I was passed again. I finished the race passing one of those ahead in P4.

Not a bad finish considering. DR up about 400 and SR up by 4. I hope tomorrow will be a better day :dopey:. Another day above DR 1... barely.

Gald you were able to turn it around a bit. Keep plugging away player you'll get there!

Edit: sorry for the double posts Mods. Didn't see the other posts, and I'm not saavy enough to use the multi quote thingy.
