Having done Race C exclusively on the American server this week I decided to have a go on my main EMEA account.

First race was a disaster. People have zero respect and take no prisoners, braking like they're alone doing Q laps, forcing their way through in the corners. I got punted around like a ping pong ball. lost 1000 Dr and 9 Sr, went from P7 to P12.
Just to make it clear, this is in a top split lobby.

Next race is a bit better. I make my way from P4 to P2. The guy behind in the 908, from 1,2 seconds behind, rams me under braking for the first chicane. I take the free cut but my tyres are dirty and I go wide through Lesmo. He dives in and clips my rear sending me sideways. P4 gets caught up in my accident and is left in a heap by the side of the road.
The 908 drives off like nothing has happened. I finish 4th.
After the race the Brit in the 908 calls me out for blocking. No apology, just pointing fingers
I apologize to the guy who got caught up in my accident. He responds by telling me I shouldn't be racing if I can't control the car

Oh how much fun we're having.

It wasn't all bad - we had a decent battle one race 👍

Well I've been avoiding Race A/C as planned for most of the week and currently been enjoying Brazil.

Been using the Mustang which seems to be winding up a few of my fellow EU players when I come screaming past them or
getting a tow down the start/finish straight so at last my stats are starting to turn round as my SR is still in B hell but I've been maintaining
DR Level C.

Big push comes tonight and over the weekend as I hope to regain my B level and S levels. :)

Hopefully next week has a new car for Race A as I would love to have a Tranz Am race around somewhere like Suzuka or Willow Springs. 👍

Nope, can't do it. Driving the HDI Fap from the back is too dangerous with this matchmaking. Zero respect on the track for overtaking at corners. Mixing lower SR to fill up rooms is far worse than the A+ D spread I have been dealing with so far. I just got bumped off the track 3 times and every pass I make the other car either rams me at the apex as if I'm not there or bump passes the next corner in the chicane. Of course low DR low SR vs my A/S I get the severe penalties. -16 SR in one race with only 10 people. Back to the R92CP, only pass on the straight, stay well clear in corners. Can't race these morning clowns.

Bring back the South Americans to fill up the room. They are a lot more predictable than SR.B to SR.D drivers and at least never brake early!

Does anyone know if there's a formula for re-sale value on these cars? When your credits are maxed out, you're just wasting your earnings from the races. May as well invest.
Do some of these cars have a better residual value, in terms of percentage?

You get 30% of the purchase price for all cars that you sell.

Try the Aston. It's similarly quick up the big hill but i find i can get on the gas harder than the Mustang which gets a bit squirmy.

I honestly don't know how some of these people are a SR:S, it boggles my mind.

Last night in Race A, 5 of the 9 drivers were playing bumber cars all race. Anytime you get close to these guys they ram you from the side on a straight, ride you on the inside through turns, or use you as a brake by slamming your rear end at the brake point.

I qualified 3rd but stupid me forgot to turn off TCS at the grid start so I fell to 5th, got punted on the first lap and fell to 7th, the culprit got a 4 sec penalty for that. 1st and 2nd got ahead and had a clean race it seemed. 8th and 9th were well behind me, but from 3rd to 6th ahead of me was a joke.

Anytime i tried to pass 6th he just cut in front of me with contact, I got a few SR penalties for those but manged to keep my SR level by the end of it. Or I'd pass him then he'd take me out on the next turn so I just stayed back and waited for them to one by one be taken out by each other. Going through the chicane section you'd see them swerving from side to side trying to ram each other, every turn there'd be some form of contact. They all had 4+ second penalties.

In the final few laps 3rd and 4th were bumping during the chicanes and one of them went into the wall. He fell behind the midpack. Then on the last turn in the penultimate lap 5th tried to take out 4th but failed and ended up going pretty wide so I passed him. Now in 5th, surrounded by filthy drivers I was holding my breath the entire final lap. I look behind me and there is these 2 numbskulls with 5 second penalties I fear are going to nail me at full speed at any turn, and ahead of me are two other guys with 3.5 second penalties that I won't risk passing less I get caught up in their nastiness.

I manged to survive it and finished 3rd because of the penalties ahead of me. But like I said, I don't know how this was a room full of SR:S drivers. 1st and 2nd finished in the blue, I finished white everyone else was red and dropped from S to A.

My best race untill now. Such nice laptimes :). (My Quali time is 47.418). And the first win in race A. Men, it is hard to avoid hits. There are random divebombs everywhere.

Next Week's races are up
A: N300 (Car provided) - Tsukuba - 7 laps - Sports Hard
B: Gr.4 - Suzuka - 4 laps - Racing Hard
C: Gr.3 - Tokyo Expressway South Inner Loop - 8 laps - Racing Soft, Medium and Hard - x5 fuel, x7 tyre wear

Preliminary conclusion of the server changes. I much rather race laggy South Americans that are SR.S than lag free SR.B North Americans. I'm racing at the same odd hours (and from the back) as last week and the quality of races is worse now.

Tokyo next week, yeah that will be fun with SR.D to SR.S rooms.

@Sven Jurgens, I'm finding the opposite to you since the change.

Granted I don't do half as many races as you, and I'm only doing Race B. But I am currently on a clean race streak of 4. This has never happened at Interlagos for me before as it's usually carnage.

I'm a B/S grade, and the rooms are mainly A/S and B/S, with a couple of C/S's thrown in.

Racing has been close, but in the majority clean with no laggy players or silly goingson into corners.

I'm also seeing the came on my C/S European account. Ditching the real laggy players has contributed to better driving. IMO.

Easy, I'm SR S and i've been reset 3 times to SR E. I Try not to hit anyone but don't have great control over the car, however even from E it took just a dozen races to get back to S mostly by just not getting involved in any conflicts at all. As soon as i start racing, my SR drops.

I agree Sven. I’ve probably only done 5 races since the server update, but the experience is notably different. Even though my SR was at 99, the matchup and the race made it feel like I was in the 80-89 SR lobby. One, maybe two real fast guys if I’m lucky, and the rest of the field was around 2s slower or more. Losing DR for finishing 2nd place in the top lobby is a joke. Gaining less than 100 for winning is just as silly. Top 2 or 3 finishing 40s ahead of everyone else each race is going to get old quick.

Had a go at Race A. Got pole. And fastest lap. Very rare for me. But finished 4th due to being rammed off twice. Nuts.

I notice no improvement in experience since the regional switch. Still around the same percentage of aggression. I think I owe Brazil an apology for thinking it would be different.

And as expected it's boring seeing only American flags. If it started this way I probably wouldn't have known better. But now I miss seeing the different flags. Bummer.

Like everyone else it seems, I'm trying to figure out how the penalties work...or don't. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that I started racing GT 4 again after many years, and that led to a new PS4 and GT Sport. One of the things I noticed when trying Mission 34 in GT 4(again!) was that, track limit wise, if you touched a wall with the front of a car (anything but a light kiss) you get a penalty, but if you're backing it in and smash the wall with the rear quarter, you bounce off with no penalty. I wonder if this may be what's happening with people using us as berms on the inside and avoiding penalties...Just a thought.
As to how to fix things...I use the bumper cam view so I have a rear view mirror. If someone is coming up on me I do one of two things. I either mve over and protect my line...make them take the long way around (and I expect them to leave me room if they try) or I stay on my line and if they come up the inside and we're overlapping at turn in, I give them room or hold the brake and try going underneath on exit. I see to many people weaving to block, which is illegal in many race series and should be penalized. Moving over to protect the inside is racing, but weaving back and forth is not.

Doesn’t sound too great looks like I’m forced into the new track based on those races.

I want seaside and brands!!

Or a nice Gr.2 Race C somewhere good so I can do some running from the back on my GTP account again, only thought of this because I got a Gr2 Honda as my daily workout today on that account. ;)

With those combos it might have to be Race B again for me for the third week running, I miss Race C, B is just not long enough. :(

I haven't raced on Interlagos, yet when it was on for a week before I got my longest clean streak ever there at 23 consecutive clean races. You have a few to go to convince me :)

I'm racing on Monza and since I accidentally set a qualifying time while practicing I have been hit in the chicane every time. Of course that pretty much happened the same before the change. However now I'm seeing a lot more deliberate dirty drivers or drivers that don't know any better as the rooms are filled with SR.B drivers and sometimes even lower. It's taking forever to get back to 99 as one hit in the chicane for which I get blamed means a neutral rating at A/S.

The real laggy players are still there. There are still 1 bar connections, probably accounts from different regions. Perhaps I just need to adjust. I know how to deal with laggy cars. SR.D to SR.B drivers (that are low SR all the time) are less predictable apart from going to mess with you when you get near. The problem is, my memory is not that stellar to memorize each driver's SR and DR level before the race. Displaying B/C with the name would be very helpful while racing from the back.

One thing that will completely change racing on Monza are penalty zones. I still seem to be among the very few not to rack up short cut penalties. Penalties are so easy to scrub in GR.1 on Monza that they are pointless. I barely manage to hold on to my incorrect T1 penalty while racing as fast as I can. For any lower DR penalties simply melt away while driving.

Right now, many fair players are turning their backs on the game because they are simply frustrated by the many ramming, breaktests, divebombs and dirty tricks they experience

I got brake checked twice in one lap in Daily B today. Both times I was expecting it and made the pass. They also ended up losing so much time braking that I never saw them again. In fact, 1 in. GT40 hit the brakes, lost the back of his car and 2 seconds.

Only 3 times? I'm up to about 8 or 9.

Try race A for some short track dueling. Lot's of fun!

N300 Tsukuba again, huh? I’m expecting the FuguZ or the 22B. Then again, last time I expected the 22B and it wasn’t that. Anything can happen.

That sucks. I was hoping for some Trans Am action.

I was having a similar situation here. There just isn't enough players in the region for a balanced grid. Before the change, as an SR/S I'd see only a few Australians and the super rare kiwi. After getting dropped to SR/B by the slam fest that was Red Bull at Red Bull, suddenly all the Australians showed up. For some reason we seem to be the aggressive ones. As predicted the grid after the change to Oceania was mostly lower SR's and an "anything goes" attitude. At least before, you could get away from the lower SRs by improving yours. This is nutz!

Lol it's even worse now the schools are out. American school kids are really something. I'm seeing lots of new names (I race so much I pretty much recognize who is on and what times) and most of them do not belong in an SR.S room. I'm reporting about 5 drivers per race, let PD know this sucks. It's been a while since I've seen persistent deliberate ramming until you go off yet today it's been the rule rather than the exception. I just dropped 16 SR again from the penalty system getting it wrong twice in the same race. Yet every race I get punted off now. New challenge, survive the SR flood gates.

Next race loading, at least there's nothing lower than SR.B in this one, ugh. I wish I could delete my Q time. That was a bad mistake not to hit retry in time. Starting 11th of 14, maybe I should just pull over.

That went unexpectedly well. The cars behind me stayed well behind, the two in front of me didn't make it through the gentle right so I had all the space in the world to brake early for the chaos from the front field. Finished 3rd, clean race bonus, +15 SR. Now I'm at 98. Do I risk another race for that one final point or cash in now lol. I guess I can always quit during loading if the line up looks too dangerous....

I risked it, all SR.S although lots of lower DR in the room. It was going great, avoided all contacts, second clean race bonus should be in the bag, then this clown came along in lap 7
KkOVSgD.gif

I guess he had to pit, through me. 5 sec penalty for me, lost a place at the finish, but luckily managed to still get a neutral rating. And of course the innocent DR.B gets a shiny blue rating...

Time for a break, staying at 98 SR for now.

I've no idea how people are able to attack the kerbs at Monza so much. I'm getting penalties even when I'm not trying to cut them as tight as possible.
