What a lucky run off the Mountain, 8th on grid, 2 ahead quit, thankyouverymuch, and I start 6th.

Lap 1, the uphill, and I'm suddenly 3rd, never saw what happened to 3 and 4.
5th overshot T1 and I just coasted by on the inside.

Think they knocked each other out in T1, I'll take that, thank you.

Clean surfing after that, got green sr in every sector, no red sr, yet I only gained 4 sr in the end..

Day 5 of playing GTS...

Race B in the Megane Gr.4, qualified with a 2:15.793 (I repeat, day 5 :p) for 3rd place in a C/B lobby. I battled for 2nd place throughout the first lap, went for the move into the first corner of lap 2. I spent the entirety of that lap chasing the leader and ran a 2:14.158, which was a second clear of the second best lap of the race and undeniable proof of the fact that I can't qualify to save my life  We both got penalties during the last lap; I got 0.7s, which I served on the long straight and he got 1.1s, which he stuck with until the end. A sloppy last few corners led to the gap increasing to 1.8s, but thanks to his 1.1s penalty I was moved up to 1st place by 0.2s for my 6th win :D

Race C in the Motul Autech GTR, qualified with a 1:30.7 for pole in a B/B lobby and went on to claim my 7th win by 5.5s with a Medium / Soft / Soft strategy (5/4/4). That bumped my SR up to A!

Next week races are up, and seems like a Le Mans without chicane (gr 1) is gonna be our daily race C. Other races are Blue Moon speedway n400 and Tokyo South outer loop

It's a Christmas miracle. I was gifted a pole and win. :D

Race B. Probably due to lag. No cars on the road. Nothing in my rear view. At one point some crashing sounds but according to radar they were far. At the finish it said I won by +8 seconds. The game seemed determined to give me that win.

Hence the problem with week long dialys. I could be wrong but I think that is 21 days of some form of Tokyo and 14 days of Sarthe in a month

Yeah, it sucks. I really liked when they did the N class races, and let us tune our own cars to meet the specs.

We've been getting a bunch of repeat tracks, with a bunch that haven't appeared in months. There are some tracks that I can't ever remember appearing in the dailies (besides dirt tracks).

I would get a kick out of an open N200 race at Horse Thief Mile.

Race B has dropped me quite a bit down into DR.B already. 3 laps on the mountain, no time to make up many positions, plus I prefer GR.3 there. Meanwhile SR.S is too clean to gain from crashes, while average DR and room size are pretty low. Making up 3 positions still means losing a lot of DR each race. I love the track though.

I tried race C, I just don't like the track. Wide tracks in bumper cam suck as I can't really see both sides of the road at the same time with the low camera angle. I did a no stop on hard tires which was a mistake as well. Sure I gained a few places, yet didn't get to the finish in time.

Back to the mountain, stubbornly driving the Huracan in a field of Meganes and TT cups. Last race, gained 5 positions, lost 400 DR. Need more laps!

What is the trick to the standing start? I get crushed every time.
I keep getting pole position at race A, only to end up 5th or 6th at turn 1.

I'm driving a different car each day. Since I get stuck at the bottom anyway with little chance against the field of two DR ranks above me, I'm just going with what seems like fun. Tonight it will be the M4. I know from previous experience it hasn't got the legs on Mountain Strait or Conrod, but I'm gunna drive it anyway :p.

TCS 2, floor it, release brake when the light turns green. Don't over think it! Dial TCS back down after the start if you want.
Thanks. I guess I'm just timing it wrong. I either get a false start penalty, or I'm too late and everyone flies just flies by. It's not traction. It's timing.

I found Hurracan to be bit more agile when it comes to getting away from cars behind in technical part of track, it really has an edge in accelerating. TT just sits a bit too low for my taste on this track, although I set my Q time in it.

It seems GTS has died. It wouldn't be Christmas without psn problems. I already had 3 disconnects after the room loaded, last one everyone got booted and now the game won't start anymore. It does sync the save data, then hangs after online save flashes with a black screen.
f6c.jpg

I was downloading OnRush which is 'free' this month to try as an alternative to all these disconnects. That might not happen today, currently it says 99+ hours left :banghead: My internet connection is still fine, over 50 mbps download speed, yet on the ps4 it reports 300 to 800 kbps in the network test. Way to go psn!

Ah, when it fails to connect right at the start the game does load. Then reconnect succeeds, however when I try to enter a race it says "Cannot proceed as BOP could not be retrieved" More errors, more hanging, game over.

Sorry to hear about the network problems. Been racing a couple of C races. Tried a 1 stop, didn't work. Got the same clown in 3 races, and he ruined my race every time. I had a blue A after my last race, and he had a red C, so hopefully I won't see him again. Up to 75 point, so 1 or 2 more good races and I should be back to S. I did loose about 1500 DR due to bad finishes.

Hello friends. My last race on the mountain was a peach. Started 8 as first b vs a and a plus. My plan going in was maintain and be clean....
First turn I muffed a bit and let ninth to inside at griffins. No big. Megane ahead me behind in the Chevy.
I’m on him, and he goes into wall on turn nine. Pops out and I rear end him which shoved him straight and we continue. This allowed Huracan behind a look but no move in turn 11. The megane next got tangled pre dipper and I get tapped by the Huracan, well I was braking because the guys in front weren’t ghosted nowhere to go...
Orange down arrows (2)
Then All four of us on on each other at the left onto Conrod. I bump tap the rcf who is now in front of me since I had slightly better exit and I’m not slowin down because I expect3d him to be foot on floor.
Orange.
Rcf tangles with megane and leaders megane is ghosted at the chase.
I try to go around outside of the leader and get by the others since they tangled.
The Huracan behind goes on through the ghost and sideswipes me a bit.
Orange
Lots happened end result I get ahead of those guys and run a clean final lap of 14.6 and get seventh.
Sr red.
I took no penalty, but it was just chaos...
Sr down to 88 first time that low in over sixty game days.
I will farm la Sarthe before going in country again.
Crazy race. I’ve raced quite a few rooms of this level, but these guys were kinda all over trying to kill us all...
Plus 500 more dr.
For giggles I tried a lap in the megane. Omg I dunno how anyone can drive ff. Feels horrid on the wheel just horrid to me compared to fr.
Strange race. It wasn’t uncourteous really just one bump after another sucking away my sr like a leech on a dying carp. No one gave an inch and several folks took penalties.
I have enough speed though so it’s ok. I will get back to 99 sr and get back in the mix. Looks like next weeks races will be bad choices for me again. Tokyo ain’t my thing.
Winning dr points is ok, but I’d rather have the comfortable 99 sr. Not having it makes me nervous, as I just saw sometimes anything can happen...

Stay thirsty my friends

Wow! Finally made it to DR/A. Never thought I'd see the day, but it's finally here. Wish I could show the results, but I can't even use the multi-quote in this forum :banghead: .........:odd:.

The easy way to multi quote is to type your reply to the first person first, then before hitting post reply, scroll back up and hit reply on the next person you want to quote, like this.

Ha, I’m the same, 1 quote limit.

It will add it to your current post, then hit post reply when you are done.

Congratulations on making it to DR.A, the first time is special! Great progress!

Don't worry about dropping back to B/S, it gets easier to get back up each time.

That's my profile, up down up down. Currently mucho down with the disconnects.

Reasonably successful at Mount P this morning.

Two races: DR up about 500. SR up and back to S.
Also found 900ths to get my qually lap under 2.14.

Tried the Scirocco. Felt maybe more consistent than the Mégane, but I think the Mégane is just quicker.

Two more races this afternoon, including a win with pole and fastest lap.

DR above 20000 for the first time.

@Bathurst: 2 scrabs on the wall and once going off at the last corner: -4SR...Strange!!! Didn't hit or tab nobody!

Goooo tell it on the Mouuuntain! Set my horsepower freeeee.... Yeh, another episode following all the drama. on Mount Panorama. I finished prepping the M4 and off onto the track we go. I started the first day with the Mustang sporting an '85 HDT livery just for the mountain. I had hoped to some day do the 1.5 hour Gr4 enduro lobby of rinsky's. Since as far as I could tell no one had given the rexy any love this year, I figured I'd prep a rexy with the same livery for next year. Since it was done, I figured I'd use it for Bathurst last night. I appeared to have set a trend, so I decided all the cars I race at the mountain this week will use the same livery :p. Anyway I couldn't beat my rexy qualy with the M4 (came awfully close), so that time got me P10/14. There were 5 of us DR/Ds on the grid.

The flag drops and it's on! I'm a bit slow at Hell Corner and the car behind I could see was catching up (the M4 is no missile on the straits). I pulled to the side and let him passed. I was right on his tail up the mountain. He went a bit wide headed towards Skyline and had a couple of tyres in the sand, but kept ahead. He went wide at Forest and I slipped cleanly past him hugging the inside and planted it. I had a gap up Conrod, but his GTR was slowly closing. He lost it going into the chase and nearly took me out coming back onto the track after cutting the grass.

On the climb up the Mustang in front didn't quite set up right for The Cutting, and while he was wagging his tail, I squeeked by on the outside with no contact, much to my surprise . I stayed ahead and the shiny green GTR in front got a bit out of shape at Forest but covered the track which took the wind out of my sails so I couldn't make a pass on the exit or get enough drive to pass on Conrod.

On to lap 3 and the GTR behind caught up was trying to do something at The Cutting, but there was no where for him to go and he hit the wall trying. At Skyline a white Mustang missile came in hot but found all kinds of trouble. Luckily I somehow didn't get hit :nervous:. The shiny green GTR kept ahead down Conrod, but muffed it on the exit to The Chase, went a bit wide and I passed on the inside. I managed to hold on to Murrays, make the turn and finish P8 with blue SR and no penalties :dopey:.

SR 99, DR went up about 250.

Well I got a nice Xmas present from GT, a DR reset back to 15k, yay! One race last week on Tokyo took me from SR 90 to 45 thanks to over 1 minute in penalties and getting the boot for the first time ever from a race and then one race on Race A this week and bam, back to SR 17 and DR 15k, ouch. Oh well, at least I can race now without fear of losing points for 2nd place finishes haha. I did finally try a few race C’s Though, I tried pitting on laps 5 and 9 on softs the whole time and I tried a one stop on 7 with mediums, I’m not sure which is the better route yet. Race c is fun though. :)

Final race for the night. I started P9/15 as the top qualified DR/D... all two of us .

Race starts and lap 1 was pretty ok. On to lap 2 and some gumby decides to crow bar his way into the inside at Forest and slam me into the wall in the process. This kinda put me off and I managed to get through The Chase, but I was still unsettled and found the wall on the exit to Griffins. Dusted myself off and made my way round Hells Corner. I had a road roach of some description.. McLaren or a Ferrari right up my arse on Mountain Strait. For some reason, despite the fact I was right over to the left with mere cm between me and the grass, he still felt the need to put his nose up the left. No idea what was going through his feeble little mind but it didn't help him any. My lines across the top of mountain don't leave any room to pass, and he spun out before Skyline trying. I finished P10 with no penalties, but a bit miffed.

SR maintained, DR went up, to my surprise. By how much not sure, but based on where I was at last nigh and my last post, somewhere between 100 and 200 :odd:. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.
