I'll stop playing tracks with no clear track limits, just look at the time of the first person on EU, at this point most of the qualifying at Le Mans is not trying to take the corner better but how to cut it without getting a penalty, I mean what's the logic that you get 5 secs with the slightest tap on the wall on Tokyo but you can cut the corners at Le Mans like hell and get no penalty - it's getting frustrating and ridiculous....

But at least you can learn the limits by watching replays plus trial-and-error.

I'm a bit surprised. You seem to be off your feed. I qualified with a 3:15 on hards with the 787B. On my grid that got me P11/14. There were including me, 3 DR/Ds. Mostly DR/B. :crazy:

I started my race with the prerace "Happy New Year!". One of the drivers started with "Hello you bunch of pillocks". I knew he was going to be trouble. Race gets going and I manage to get hit before the first corner (autodrive quit mid chicane). First orange SR. I manage to get on to Mulsanne and tear past some of the "the slower drivers" (ok, not slow... faster than me, but not Group C). I manage to survive the first lap ok, then Mr Pillock (in a Tomahawk) rear ends me. And again :banghead:! Another two orange SRs for that. I got ahead of him and at the final two chicanes he was so desperate to finish ahead that he pushes past me at the chicane... *both* of them :banghead::banghead:. He ended up in the sand and sporting a 1s penalty, but I got another orange SR.

I did a no stop with short shifting... which as it turns out wasn't necessary... I had nearly half a tank left! And the finish:

View attachment 789859

SR still 99 despite the multiple orange SRs. DR went up another 400+. Not a bad start to the week. I expect I will be matched with SR/Ss tomorrow rather than a mix of both DR *and* SR. Another day above DR 1

I just watched a top 10 replay, I'm not driving on the right track :confused: The lines are just there as a suggestion. Especially the final chicane, you can just ignore the first half...

Wait, you mean like straight up cut it? Last week that got me 3 seconds or more in the 86. If it's true then that's a major inconsistency, since I can't even go wide at Tertre Rouge without a second's worth of slow-down for my efforts... :rolleyes:

I usually drive in the morning. Before the sun comes up. Race B matches up so perfect with the lighting and sounds. It feels like I'm having a race before the morning traffic starts. Not that I had a problem with waking up in Australia or Italy. :cool:

I actually thought this was going to be the other new Tokyo layout. I can't remember which is which anymore.

I jumped into the fray and did one race C before work, today. I used the Mazda, with medium tires, which help up pretty nicely without stopping. No qualifying, and ended up 3rd instead of 2nd because I had to slow at the end, to scrub my 4 second wall penalty. The pole-sitter won by 25 seconds, no-stopping in his R92.
It seems that I'll need to start using that car. I don't see the LM55 beating it. This room was SR B + C.

You can go plenty wide in Tetre Rouge, as long as you keep touching the blue it seems. You can't straight up cut the final chicane yet this works

That's a top 10 quali time. Also go beyond the white line after the second part. The lines are there just as a decoration.

The penalty system has given up as well
I5ABaCl.gif

Sure, just ram me into the wall and I get SR Down, nothing for the car that hit me. Last race again, got punted in the Porsche curves into the sand, car that rammed me, no penalty, successful pass. Has PD given up? Oh well, just treat it as an arcade racer, apply lube before the race, enjoy the track, report the people.

Doh, just lost 10 SR from a laggy car bouncing into me, giving me a penalty. Plus the usual bumps from behind of course. I'm going back to no stop, so I don't have to meet the same people twice, hopefully.

I read that as before the scum gets up :lol: That would also be correct. This is the 'other' layout. The previous weekly was with the container area instead of the chicane.

Good old Monday’s, and luckily for me my son is at work this morning so I booted up the Bringerofrain279 account on my PS4 and did some qually laps on each track to get used to them. I’m not sure which one I’ll like best this week, they all have potential to be fun races to start from last place. This is the best times I could come up with over about ten laps per track. I only tried one car on B and C though, Ford GT on B with no TCS and the R92CP on TCS 2 on C. There’s plenty more time in all those times though, I just wanted to set a baseline and see where I stood before starting the days racing, and without setting an actual Q time on my good profile haha. Happy Monday fellas, and Happy almost New Years! :D

Edit: Ouch, race one(B) hurt pretty bad, 15s in penalties thanks to dirty drivers and a bad start by me and I had to pull over to a stop to clear them on lap 3, still managed a 4th place finish thanks to everyone else having tons of penalties but I got a shiny new DR reset back to 3000 and SR down to 1 lol. Looks like I’m starting fresh all over again, again haha. Oh well. :)

Overtaking R92CPs is very tricky on Sarthe. I kinda feel like I need a pedal to be able to adjust the gas precisely enough to keep the car at 379 kph. As soon as it hits 380 it drops back to 366 and it normally tops out at 377/378 without drafting. The margin is so small and the R2 trigger so imprecise. It often ends in entering Mulsanne side by side. What's the point of an endless straight if you can't draft... Feels like PD is trolling. Also funny there are still people swerving to get you out of their draft, you are only helping me not to hit the rev limiter :lol: I swerve to get out of the draft at 379 kph. Strafing to maintain speed!

My best so far is 3rd place finish from last and I hit the 3:10s with a no stop using RM for front and RH for the rear. There are probably plenty places where you can cut the track to go faster, or just cut since the minor penalties don't seem to slow anyone down. I still like to finish without a red dot, there should be a special prize for that!

I've also been punted in pretty much every other race, sometimes 3 times per race. If you're not sure of your braking points, brake early, it's that simple... Apparently not. Speed is addictive, yet the daily C is nearly a onemake now. Good fun though and at least the rear ending by 919s has stopped!

I know you often try a bunch of different things, and was wondering if you have tried better tires, and one stop?
Just wondering if it ends up being about the same, either way, like the last race C at Fuji.

Anyone else tried both strategies?

I was wondering that as well, 1 stop on soft/soft, my mediums were toast by the last lap of a no stop, got 3rd though. :)

I've only done a few races, but there's only been 1 where the one stop ended up winning

Yes, I tried one stop on softs. I don't make up enough time on softs to be worth it. A pit stop lap is about 2:30 with 2:09 on softs, while I can average 2:11/2:12 on RM/RH. Gain 3 sec per lap while losing 20 sec in the pit, not worth it. I don't see the top pitting so I guess no stop is the way to go.

Btw race C is great if you like to be touched, ugh. Starting 'last' I get bumped at least twice before the chicane. And just now got a penalty for it as well. I wish the penalty system went back to touch a car, 10 sec, for a while.

That's my problem... the brakes on the Group C cars arn't that great, so I use earlier braking points and get rear ended by cars with better brakes who still wish to use their qualifying brake points instead of driving to the car in front :banghead:.

This weeks races...
Tokyo track meh.
Lemans bashfest
Blue moon yeah riii
I dunno. If I can get decent at Le Mans I may try it by Friday but I just don’t have much hope for it right now.

So what are the META cars for this week's races? I only have the R18 '16 for Gr.1. For Gr.3, I have the Volkswagen GTI VGT, Ford GT, AMG GT, M6, V12 Vantage, Mustang and 4C as far as I remember. My bank balance is 2 million, which can be split into one Gr.1 car (R92CP? 919? TS050?) and two Gr.3 cars (911 RSR? Supra?).

Well if you learn the track at Blue Moon, you can drive the Premium Sports car lounge, Race 1 (an alternative is the slightly longer LeMans race using an expensive classic car to win ie a Ford GT or a open classic Lemans Ferrari, but both those are mega costly cars).

The Blue Moon race takes 12 minutes and if you do not hit the wall or another car, the prize money goes up from standard win $100,000 to $375,000, enough for a GR.4 car or almost enough for a GR.3. Clearly drive 4 races clean, which takes around 50 minutes, and you can earn $1,500,000. The clean race bonus is 50% , and 150% on top of that for the slow car handicap. If you touch the side of the track anywhere, you loose your clean bonus and hence you get just $250,000. @$250,000 you get 5,500 experience points, but if you have the clean race, you get 8,250 experience points and the $375k. The car used is the English KTM X-Box R '12. Set it up as fast as it can go, my final gear is 4.136 and I use KM/H, my 6th is .654/ 310 KMH, 5th 0.697/282 (mostly use for the high speed corner but close to the top gear), 4th is .809/243 KMH.
Rear diff is 5/5/15(*15 is for Braking Sensibility);
Ride H 64/60-Rear;
Nat Freq: 2.85/2.45;
Anti roll 7/8;
Damping R (C): 55/52;
Damp R (Rebound) 85/82;
Camber 0/3.0;
Toe Angle: Out 0.10/In 0.50.

Drive using the from behind elevated view, otherwise cars will hit you from behind on the corners and you won't even know, costing you $125,000 and around 3,000 experience points.

So its easy to painlessly 'cheat' to gain experience and also to have some money.

Man is there ever a bunch of dirty rammers out there tonight, holy crap man. I’ve done 13 races so far today and my best finishes were two 3rds, one in race A and one in race C. This was almost my best finish, I had the lead for laps 8 and 9 but got pass in the first corner of lap 10 and then as I was creeping back I got taken out in the last corner. Man a win from last would have been sweet, I want one, I don’t have a win yet and that would be a sweet first one. I think it might happen tonight, lots of crazies out taking penalties, anything can happen if you can get by them cleanly lol. I was this close!! Lol

This is today’s race logs, not a great day overall so far but the night is still young and people are getting drunker haha. :D

The bump-drafting penalties at Blue Moon Bay (for the car BEING pushed) aren't *as* stupid as they were before, but being bumped just before Turn 1 is enough to get you a 3-second penalty. I've had that happen to me twice. I kept the car out of the wall both times, but in spite of the only contact being from the car that pushed me (not even that hard), and me braking AFTER the contact, I still got penalized. Fortunately the penalties are also super easy to work off; just driving normally, I was able to work off about 1.5s a lap just by driving turns 1 and 3 normally. I even won both of those races! But if you get tapped going into turn 1 with less than 2 laps to go, kiss your chances of winning goodbye...

Hmm, might be a few dirty drivers in the low ranks of sr.
Pigems you’re clubbing baby seals! :lol::lol:

I can’t seem to crawl out of it yet, believe me I’m trying haha. But I like this running from the back, it’s way more fun. But much harder to maintain SR this way. I like the challenge. :)

For Daily B Race (Gr. 3), the Ford GT feels fantastic to drive on that track. I currently have a 1:32.5 with that car. Right now, it also looks like the Huracan, Beetle (I think), and the GR Supra Concept are also great cars for this week's B race.
I would recommend running a time trial with the Renault. It glides though B. It lacks the power the GT has but it may be worth trying. Check it out

Victory!! From 8th place, got up to 2nd, 1st place bumped me into the wall and it’s back to 8th, got back up again and sealed the deal in the last corner by a nose. That’s was so much fun, what a way to ring in the new year, My first Win in my first race of the year. **** Yeah! :D

Edit: Well, I’m done for the day, I didn’t get back to wear a started the day off but I’m close, it was a good day. Happy New Years everyone!! :)

So you went 8th to 2nd to 8th to 1st?

Got a replay? I'd like to watch that.

I second the replay! I found it hard to get to the front in that race. Best I've done is 4th. Top 2 in that one were wall riding turn 1 every lap. 3rd place was trying to race clean, but did ride or bounce T1 half a dozen times. I had a bunch of 56's to get that 4th, with a 56.4 best lap. Third place did a 55 with no walls. Watched in replay...definitely on a controller with all the darting around...didn't look like a 55 based on smoothness and line. Sometimes I can't figure out why a lap was fast.
On another note...same track, driving my F40 to get some cash. Last lap I get really sideways in T1 and collide with a lapper and spin. Punch it onto the banking from the infield where I stopped. I'm expecting some wheel spin, but it hooks up and I'm looking at the sky. My first wheelie in an F40. Looks great on replay.:lol:

TTM
First win of the new year!
Want a Sprite Cranberry?

Ahh you are Koifishy, nice to meet you. You were winning by a country mile yesterday while I was struggling not to get hit. Congratulations, you are very fast.

I'm currently trying race B before the sun comes up, up early again. It seems the Ford is dominating, I'm racing with my trusty Lexus. The other layout was way more fun though, this one is a bit bland with one silly chicane to spice things up a bit. I've been passed by chicane jumpers there already. Next race up, 12 entries this time, 2 up from last race.
