Im hunting consecutive clean races with the Fiart. Decent Q time Im starting at the front, and been taking podium if not the W got 5 clean races in a row going for the 6th now, I really want the achievement hitting 16 in a row. I've been gaining some DR in this one back over 20k. Running clean with a good Q time DR should start adding up.
16 in a row?...I'm still trying to get 15 in a row . Last week was a great week for me at Fuji. Got 8 or 9 dubs bringing my total to 43 or 44. Managed to get 13 Clean race bonuses until I pushed a little too hard and put 4 wheels outside track limits in T1:scared:. No penalty received, and no contact with any other cars, but the clean streak was a wrap :(.

Dragon Trail Gardens is a weird track. Too many right - left sections for my liking. Anyway, after about an hour of practice this is the best time I could produce (1:37.984). I'm down 5 tenths of a second in Sector 1 and Sector 3 off the top NA time so I need to really work on that tomorrow. Sector 2 is better but I'm still down almost 3 tenths. Here's a video of the hotlap and sorry for the horrible quality.

what is everyone's choice on race B? From the couple of vid's I looked at it looks like mustangs and huracans are the early choice

I’ve been using the WRX, feels kind of slow but it’s super easy. Only doing high 38s atm though.

Thanks for posting that! It always helps me get up to speed watching a fast lap. Gear selection, brake points, speed in corners... I do like the Alfa there, though I've only tried that and the Aston so far. I know there's been talk of where to pass, but from what I've seen so far, I think, for most people, there will be lots of passing opertunities by taking different lines in the corners, and when people go off line due to errors in speed, braking etc. It may be different for you guys at the top of the leaderboard though.

Would this describe you on the road?

Always look both ways for rolling cars.
It looks a lot like that. Yeah. When you have some time to kill between races, go to race A qualifying, and try it. 👍

I'm glad you guys can take something from these laps as I still have time to gain on these (and I'm much slower than the best). I want to test out all the Gr.4 cars that I have in the races because I want to learn which car races best. I'm glad I don't have much DR on the line to the testing.

That's badass! Not sure I'd be able to pull it off in my Accord. :nervous:

I think they really did it too if I remember correctly. You could do it, you just need a good run off lol.

Oh and I just did a barrel roll in a Fiat, you definitely weren’t lying about that haha. :D

I’ve had a chance to run some laps on this week’s races, the Fiat is fun to drive for about 15 minutes, then it gets boring, odd though that it shifts like it just came off the assembly line this morning while the Toyota 86 shifts like it’s an 86 Toyota, doesn’t that car have paddles/sequential gears in real life? I don’t remember it shifting so poorly when we used it on Le Sarthe a few weeks ago. I don’t know why they give us cars that doesn’t shift properly if we can’t tune, guys with a shifter/clutch get a huge advantage there and we can’t upgrade the parts to make it shift better like in past games. I don’t think H shift cars should be in sport mode unless they shift properly to make it even for everyone like the Fiat.

As for DT Gardens I tried the 4c, TT, Viper and the Lambo, TT is my best so far but the 4c is better if I could drive it lol. Someday.

This is where I’m at so far, there more time in all 3 For sure but not a bad start. :)

Weird how similar Race A and C times are. I don't remember 2 combos ever having such similar times.

Tried Race C...had to purchase a 86 GT using credits beforehand.

Did a bad qualifying lap due to my first lap around Tsukuba in a 86. Started P15 on the grid but made my way up to P6 at the end of the 17 laps, after a tough battle with the opponent in front while saving my tires for the second half stint.

Whats the fastest time in Euro/NA/Asia for race B, and what car? I'm driving a TT currently and its quick but unpleasant because I don't like the understeer.

Good times 👍

TYVM Sir, the combos this week aren’t as bad as I thought they’d be at all, they’re not great, but not bad. :)

The 4c is all over the NA board, I think low 37/high 36 has the top right now.

It's probably not a popular opinion, but I like the track for race A. Of course, I wish it was a sportier car. I've raced there many times. It's very easy because you really only need to make sure you get the exits right for the 2nd turn and the last turn. The stuff in between doesn't matter all that much. If you start at the front and do those two things, only divebombs will beat you.
Not sure drafting will be much of a factor at those low speeds. I'll try it on Thursday.

What is the deal with the 86 gear box. Like row row row your boat to get a shift done. I've not driven an 86 but cant believe they shift like that lmfao I've shifted most NA makes and nothing shifts like that :/ please fix this if you gonna use this car without letting is upgrade the transmission.

Yeah @Pigems how come the Fiart shift like a 2015 GT-R and the 86 shifts like a column shifting Studebaker

I do get the impression the TT is your fav for Gr4 based on previous weeklies. You'd do much better with the other cars if you would stop smoking those dubs.............

I’d say you are completely correct Sir, I’ll have to try a race sober some day to find out. :D

Edit: I gots me a Dub in the smoked out TT, and a clean one at that. Had the pole and ran it lights to flag by 5.5s at the end. The race also featured @Sven Jurgens as well, he started 16th and I believe ended up in 12th so I’m assuming he ran into a bit of trouble with someone/s, I expected him to be on my arse by lap 3 after seeing the field fall back so quickly. Definitely a good way to start the week! :)

Ha, I'm eating the humble pie this week. Daily B too short for racing from the back. GR.4, my weakest car group. DT: Gardens, no clue what I'm doing. That actually was one of my better races  I lost 12K DR so far today cycling through GR.4 cars, taking the one at the end of the list each time. So far they all drive like crap :yuck: I did build up a clean streak of 4 yet then I got bumped from behind for a nice SR Down.

Only once did my lap time get down to the 1:40's. Changing cars each race probably doesn't help (nor watching tv at the same time) yet it keeps it interesting on a boring track in a boring car group. It took a while to get used to the slowness and understeer after GR.2 all week last week. Back to DR.B, 23K.

So many people complaining about N class cars, I'm loving it after last week's Gr fest :D Got one win at the Fiat race already. Started 4th and overtook 3 cars in the first 2 corners  Race C is interesting as I've never seen a one make race here before. The GT86 on SM is a dream to drive. No oversteer at all coming out of corners so just like Race A it's basically a conservation of momentum which I'm good at. Haven't tried the race itself though, just set quali laps yesterday. I'm guessing 1 stop is fastest but we'll see.

Race B is ok. Seen the combo before. DT Seaside is a great track to test cars due to its short length and variety of corners, but terrible for side by side racing as all the corners double back on itself so unless you are much faster than the other guy it's impossible to overtake clean. Seems like the 4C is the fastest car so I'm going to try to get a good quali as I love lightweight MR cars.

Unfortunately I'm also overseas and using sub par equipment (back to my G25) and crappy internet, so apologies in advance to my fellow AU/NZ racers if my car control is not as usual in close quarters and my car is jumping around the place due to lag.

The Fiat has a racing transmission so its swapped to a sequential box. The GT86 still has its stock stickshift so the delay is simulating the time needed to clutch in, shift and clutch out. It's like this with all old manual cars in the game.

If you're skilled enough you can use the h-shifter with your wheel and row the gears faster. As for me, I can't for the life of me work the clutch in GT games due to its on/off nature, so any time gained by quicker shifts are negated by me botching my downshifts

Hey guys, I keep suffering some kind of issue where I'll enter a Daily Race, qualify, practice, etc. Then when it comes to joining the actual session it shows me the usual loading screen with all the drivers, but rather than join the race it just returns to the home screen. :boggled:

Any means of resolving this?

Ahh the Fiart 5 is prepped

My wheel broke last year and havnt had the encouragement to replace it since all my neighbors in the appartment building complained every time I used it.

Yes

Close aplication or reboot the system

It happens I think when servers loaded but just a guess.

I get this from time to time as well before I optimised my connection. Basically the game server rejects your entry because it's not stable/fast enough. What does your Test Internet Connection show? If it's anything than full 5 parameters and <10ms ping then you need to fix your internet, either get a faster plan or switch ISPs. Also check what your NAT type is in the PS4 connection test. It needs to be Type 1 or 2. Type 3 is just asking for trouble. Other tricks include setting a static IP for your PS4, then putting it in DMZ and opening the relevant ports. Using wired connection instead of wifi is also recommended. The usual clear Network cache and reboot PS4 doesn't work from my experience.

Unfortunately GTS is quite fussy when it comes to connection quality. The good side is everyone gets a stable and smooth experience. The downside is people with bad connection are going to be disconnected quite often.

You need to replace your neighbours :D

Getting bounced out right before load screen happens pretty often. I close application, restart and everything's good.

Yeah I need to figure something out. GT is my winter hobby and so much better with a wheel. Maybe I get a stand and TM150 whatever it is :/ not in the near future plans tho, budgets in repair after Christmas chaos

i see my line needs tweaking, i've been avoiding the kerbs in sector 1 but looking at other peoples line just drive right over them is the way.

Still, had some good fun last night, Found the scirocco is my most comfortable/consistent car, the TT very similar times but feel i can attack the 1st sector better in the scirocco. Need to try the 4C but its MR drivetrain and i have found them very difficult for my driving style, very loose in corners, i think this is why i like the scirocco as its very stable during corners and gives me confidence i can really attack it.

Quite pleased to rack up my 2nd victory though :D
