The only suitable car would be the Dodge SRT Tomahawk with a top speed of 380 mph. That's still over 3 minute lap times. The 70's Fiat 500 would take about 18 minutes per lap. Perhaps it's added as a new form of punishment. Instead of DR resets, complete x number of laps on route X in the fiat 500. Put cones all along the way to make sure you are steering. Hit one, start again.
Put those Tomahawks on comfort hard tires for extra fun.

Just saw the good news on the official news feed! It seems that we're transitioning back to the old regions for daily races after this upcoming update. The FIA regions will still remain the same as they are now though.
I for one am happy to hear this as the matchmaking was wayyy better before the split. Good job PD 👍

Confirmed :

"
1. The Matching Regions for Daily Races will be returned to 3 regions.
Daily races had been matched in 5 separate regions in a recent change, but these will be returned to three regions of Europe/Middle East/Africas, North/Central/South Americas, and Asia/Oceania regions.

However the online “FIA Gran Turismo Championship” will continued to be matched in 5 separate regions."

Welcome back Asia!!!!

Just tried a couple of Race A's to mix things up. Stupidly I thought my 1:07.696 would be good enough to start somewhere near the front. Started P9 in both races. :banghead:

So anyway that jaunt cost me about 500DR. Back to race B for me!

I wish they would just get rid of the region lock all together. I want to race against europeans.

Hopefully not too much of a headache for @Milouse .

Down in the world of C/C that time is pole-worthy. With my 1:08.048 I got a 2nd position start, and weirdly enough won. Still can't believe it really happened, I never win at Sport mode.

@Tidgney just did a 1.39.279 with one hand and automatic gears on the first go. Now I am really sad:( (am watching live on youtube)

Edit: And wins the race with one hand:eek:

Glad you enjoyed that :P! The whole stream was hilarious doing different things. I gotta say the 1 leg 1 arm race really was a bit mental on top of just 1 arm, but bloody good fun!

While @Tidgney decided to do some silly stuff in his Dailies as told by his chat, I did 2 races, both sitting on pole, with one using the Alfa 4C, and the other with the Porsche Cayman. Both times I ended up increasing the gap to as high as 8 seconds in the Cayman race. Both races contributed to my 65th and 66th wins.

Daily B was incredibly dirty early evening, all red ratings at the back. Despite dodging 8 ram attempts / out of control cars, the 9th kept getting me with the infinite wisdom of the penalty system assigning me a penalty. One is enough for a red rating, even though it was only 1 SR most of the time. Still that dropped me down to 67 where matchmaking prefers SR.B.

So I figured, good time to find out how many points Tsukaba is worth. I drove carefully, made up 5 places finishing 10th while conceding places (pulling over) when cars were closing in from behind. I wasn't there to race, contact free was priority nr 1. I got the clean race bonus and +24 SR. So out of balance! Daily B is only 6 or 7 points. And despite plenty banging and yellow flags, the whole room had blue ratings.

Back to SR.S, away from those SR.B bumper cars. Hopefully the gardens will be more drive-able this evening.

Might as well forget about a top 3 finish...

@Pigems nice lap! What's the secret?

Cedar Shakes lol, I can’t take any credit for the lap. I was doing control testing on the brake bug before the update so I could re test again tomorrow after the update to see if they finally fix it this time and I inadvertently ended up with a pretty quick lap. It shaved more than 2 seconds off of my time, I’m really hoping when I re test tomorrow that it will finally be fixed and no longer work, this shouldn’t be able to happen.

You don't use that "technique" in the race, do you?

Never, only other time I tried it was on this track last time with the VW Scirocco to see if it actually worked and it worked then too. As far as I know it doesn’t work in a race but I’ve never tried it as that would/could then have an affect on everyone else in the race and I’m not willing to do that just to test it.

How full is full throttle?

I’ve been doing race C, and feel like I’m losing time down the back straight, even if I get a good exit out of the preceding hairpin.

I’m wondering if it’s my controller. I’ve had issues in the past where fully depressing R2 wouldn’t give me full throttle. The controller I’m using is brand new, I peeled the plastics off it on Sunday, so I wouldn’t expect it to be worn already. It’s just that when I fully squeeze R2, if I look at the little throttle meter on the HUD, there’s a sliver of black space at the top, maybe one or two pixels tall.

I never really payed attention to this little meter before, so I don’t know if it’s sipposed to go right to the top, so the white bar touches the white line on the top, or if even at full throttle there’s supposed to be some black space at the top.

There may be other options depending on how people setup their PS4, but this is my understanding and way of doing it.

Uploading to Youtube is done via video clips found in the "Capture Gallery" on the PS4's main menu.
So you need to get your game-play video there.
If you have a saved replay in GT Sport you wish to share, then playing the video and recording it is a way to get that video to the Capture Gallery.

Double pressing the Share button begins video recording, and double pressing the Share button ends video recording.
So, in GT Sport, play the saved replay and record it.
This video recording will be exactly as you see it on screen (meaning during recording you can change car views, turn on or off race data, view a different car, etc.) and is saved in the Capture Gallery.
(Note: Turn off HDR in the settings before you start recording to avoid over-saturated colours in the saved video clip)

After that, on the PS4 main menu, go to the Capture Gallery.
Highlighting the video clip and pressing the Share button will allow you to upload to Youtube.
Or you can highlight the video clip and press the Options button which will allow you to "Trim" or "Edit in Sharefactory" before uploading.

*Edit*
I'll also add this.
There may be times when something happens during game-play that you want to share, but you are unable to "save" in GT Sport and then play back.
For example, on track in a lobby but not actually racing to allow a race save.

The PS4 is continuously recording, and will always hold the last 15mins of game-play.
At any time, pressing the Share button once (not double pressed as per before) will allow you to "Save Video Clip".
This video clip will be a recording of the last 15mins of game-play as seen on screen (meaning you can't manipulate it as per before) and will be saved in the Capture Gallery.
Thank you, this is excellent. I appreciate your putting the work into explaining this. This has been bugging me for a while but I thought for sure I’d figure it out. Never gave the “share” button a thought before now. You rock, thanks!! :)

A European guy reported seeing others in the race who were doing it. If I saw it, I would probably take em out.

Post-race at La Sarthe, someone sent me a message that said "exploit". I asked what he was talking about. He said the brake lights on my LM55 were on the whole time. I looked at it in the next race and yeah they were on. I think that's because all the cars had their headlights on for that race. I guess the Mazda just had the most noticeable taillights. Ha ha

Ah ok, I didn’t know that it worked in a race, someone posted elsewhere on the site one time that it didn’t. That makes it even worse then, they really need to fix this. I’m gonna run some more laps now without it to see how close I can come to that time because I did find new lines through the two main corners so my time probably did drop some from what I had before, but I can’t see it being as much as the time I have right now. I’m really curious to see the difference.

Not entirely full. It keeps throwing me off as well as I've had the same problem multiple times. I'm on my 4th controller for GT Sport... (You can fix it with a piece of tape yet you lose range in R2 turning it more and more in an on/off throttle)

Try Sarthe no chicane, with BOP the R92CP should get up to 378kph. (Stock gearbox, BOP does not reset the gears in a custom time trial)

I believe mine is working correctly (for now) and it looks like this

Bah, do it for science! (Then drop back)

I kinda want to find out the exact SR Boost at SR.E to see how many points a clean race is worth on Tsukaba at SR.1 However that takes quitting 20 races to get to 1 or well punt someone a whole bunch of times... Any volunteers?

Btw, the :50 race before maintenance won't count for your DR/SR. If you feel like letting off some steam, that race is free to drive as dirty as possible. I tested that with an earlier maintenance cycle (for science) and it worked. Dropped to SR.B in the race, never registered.

This is it
Good fun trying to beat the 'brake cheat' users in the Fiat 500 - although it makes them faster round the corners, it does seem to slow them a bit on the straights! You get quite a bit of yo-yoing, and even if you do manage to pass them on the straight, they just drive past you (or through you in most cases!) at the next corner.

P1 on the EMEA server seems ridiculously fast - don't know what his secret is, as there's no video!

Today I improved my time for race c. I did two consecutive races and won both. It was a fun little race with some close quarters combat.
This 86 drives like a dream though! So controlled, yet still turns good.
Only gained a little less than 200 dr though.

I would expect the better matchmaking from the returning South Americans will allow for more DR points to be available to you.

What’s messed up is that there was even an a+ driver in one of them.
Ahhhh!!!
