I did the Autopolis endurance to learn the track. I ended up 1:10 behind at first, finished 1 minute ahead in the end. The AI likes to pit a lot. The track did not grow on me, just made me tired. Turn turn turn turn turn turn yawn. Such a bland looking track. I'll try a race tonight I guess.

There's another update coming tonight, I wonder what it is. Perhaps to patch in some elevation in Autopolis

Did a couple of daily races for the first time in a while. Both at Autopolis. The last sector on this reminds me a bit of Yeongam.

It seems that at this point in the week just keeping it on the track gets you a reasonable result. One stop on mediums seems to be the way to go. Someone managed to pull off a decent undercut pitting on lap 5 but I think you need to get lucky with the traffic to pull it off.

Unfortunately being just about A+ puts me with the aliens, and with my pace I don't have much hope of winning

I decided to learn the track by entering a sport mode race, not the greatest decision. It was okay at the start when I had somebody to follow but then it just went downhill.

The track is slow, soulless and lacks any kind of flow.

I managed to race tonight and my results weren‘t as bad as I expected.

Race A starting from 2nd, got a an (indeliberate) Bump in T2 (the left kink) and fell back to 5th. But I kept going and got back to 2nd where I finished.

Then B with the SLS: Started 12th, kept calm, negotiated a brawl and finished 10th with a clean race bonus.

Then again B with the same car. Had managed to improve my Q-time in the minutes before the green flag and started 11th. I was quick and others hot blooded. In the very last lap I passed a yellow hornet (the car‘s paintjob looked like one and the car also sounded similar) in 120R and then a TT when entering Casio triangle. I finished 6th.

I‘ll spare Autopolis for one of the next evenings. Probably need Alcohol for it. ;)

I did a Race C which went better than expected in the Xanavi. I started P16 without qualifying and somehow finished P5. I guess a lot of people were still becoming accustomed to the track. I also escaped a pile-up on T1 where I gained 4 - 5 places so that probably helped. It's pretty bland to race on so I'm unsure whether I'll race on it many more times. Those constant turns almost had me in a trance.

Just did a race A, started 9th with no qually, finished 1st. I’ll never start a fight, but I have absolutely no problem finishing one. There was absolutely no need of him doing this, and it was no accident by any means, I even slowed down to avoid him being near my rear wheel knowing what he was gonna do after the first one and he still tried it again. Oh well, he got what he deserved.

Seems reasonable to me. 👍

I want to like the Supra. I really do, The FT1 concept is so sexy, but WOW is the Supra ugly.

It's like someone's online dating profile pic versus how they look in real life, under bad lighting, after being punched in the face.

Roll in car or bumper cam it’s way less offensive.

Did only race B, had a few good races, one where an overzealous 4c decided to pit me. I got tired of starting mid pack with the Atenza, so I ran a few qualifying laps and brought my time to the 2:09s almost guaranteed top 5 start, average lap times in the 2:10 when I’m not being held up. Pretty fun combo.

That went as expected. I tried race C and I've come to realize I simply suck at GR.2. I'm competitive in GR.1 and GR.3, GR.2, my best lap was 1:41 nuff said. It did not help I got bored of the track halfway through and just wished it was over. My best lap was lap 3, by lap 5 my mind was wandering off. So after pitting in lap 6 I got punted off and then stayed in last until the car in front of me screwed up. Yawn. I was 1:25 behind the leader who won with a 15 sec lead.

Forza Horizon 4 and Elite Dangerous for me this week. Maybe one race a day just to torture myself.

Thought I'd dabble in more "competitive" racing and ventured into race A. I thought my qually time was awful but it was enough to put me in 5th out of 12 (although the bottom 3or 4 didn't post times). I was chuffed, that's the highest I've ever started!
First turn went great, someone went off and I went up to 4th!! About 20 seconds later, someone went off, rejoined and whacked me really hard in the side (a bit like Pigem's earlier video) and I went off and into the barrier. By the time I was "reset" I was last and quite a way back..... although I did manage to get up to 11th!
At the finish around half the drivers had penalties (one as high as 4 seconds). The room was all SR S or A. Hate to see what a C meeting's like!
