No, Pigems is clearly better than you.
;)
So mean! lol

Thanks. Great Lap!! Congrats man!!
Thanks! :D

@GT5Power If you were in the NA region, you'd be right behind me. Come on innnn! Welcome to the club!:cheers:

E - my first message disappeared, that was weird.

Dude I hear ya. I have resorted to the TT as a last resort and bam, I get a 1:49 in my last race last night. Just did a few laps with it and I hate it again. Must have been hi as hell last night!

Giving the WRX a go whilst trying to reach last night's mental state ;)

Someone is running 8:19 laps, no stop, from pole, winning every race in the Corvette C7. My best lap was 8:30 in the Lexus with some drafting. Perhaps I should give the Corvette a try. That's a thirsty car though, but apparently super early shifting doesn't bother it.

It's amazing how competitive EMEA is. You and Pigems are #37 and #36 while I'm #111 in my region  If we look at the world leaderboard, there are 17 people within the two of us, in a 12ms interval!

The site has been resurrected only recently. It's a one man project and @jasguer is working hard on it to get it all rolling again. The server has been off a long time and some results will be gone by now. PD doesn't store everything, so if the server hasn't polled it while it was available, then it's gone.

yeh, i've just had a read of that thread. What a great job he's done there and here's me slating the website while he works his nuts off ... I've shamed myself into making a contribution

I consider myself an average to below-average racer. I'm not as young as I used to be and my reflexes aren't as good as they used to be.

I started using a controller and now I use a steering wheel.

You may wonder why I'm giving you my history and it's only to say this:

You may find that shifting actually makes you a better racer and actually gives you better control. A friend of mine who is a real life race car driver told me that when I started doing it, I would never go back to auto.

I was sure he was wrong and that he vastly overrated my abilities which I knew to be pedestrian.

To my surprise , i found out quickly that he was correct.

I mapped shifting up to flicking the right stick up and I mapped shifting down to flicking the right stick down.

I was instructed to go to a track that I'm comfortable with and take a few laps with shifting. I knew within the first two laps that I would never go back to auto

Shifting will help you control the car so much more. You've heard people talk about short-shifting to help them conserve fuel, and that is a big advantage. But, I find the greatest benefit is in braking and coming out of turns with better control and acceleration.
Same with me. Controller long time ago to wheel.

Now here's the kicker. Spend some time getting used to manual. Then try the Audi e-tron or Tesla. Where there is no choice but auto. You can still click the paddles. But it won't be shifting. It'll drive you nuts.:ouch::lol:

I tried to improve my Q-time for B today but it seems 1:50 is the best I can do. This track is the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of all Tracks: Thrilling and well designed for clockwise, ugly and dangerous for counter clockwise. It would be cool if they‘d had left the chicane out of this weeks layout, even if this means Armageddon at the hairpin.

And I switched ABS to Minimum and Off. I will stick with Minium even if the car just won‘t turn if not everything (Speed and angle of steering) is 150% correct. ABS off was uncontrollable to me no matter how careful I was with my finger.

As i suspected i was trash on the track last night. My best time in the mini was 1.06.9xx i think. Did considerably better this morning.

Pretty happy but also very frustrated that i couldn't hit that perfect lap to break under 6.xxx tried the b race and i just have issues with that track in reverse.....

I hate when that happens! Last week in Tokyo I was running pretty well, and managed a 2:07.2xx. Good enough to put me well within the top 100 in the region. The frustrating part is that my optimal was an 06.6, which was damn close to top 10 at the time (I don't know where I finished the week yet) I actually had a flier late in the session where I set my time, and was .550 faster than my ghost when I tagged the wall in sector 4. I went back the next night and managed a best of 07.5, and a LOT of 07.7's, but couldn't get in the groove like the night before.

I have to admit that I would probably be more upset if I did an 07.0 and didn't break into the 6's.

The ideal version of this track would be the clockwise direction, but with the chicane reversed. It's one of my best tracks in terms of number of wins, but I've also thrown away countless wins and good finishes on the 2nd part of that blasted bus stop chicane!

race B qualy 1:47.99x with TT. The understeer is something else on this one.
Did one race, with GTR what a brain fart that was???? So qualy time got me P7 on full room with B drivers, me being only A, Was thinking to quit rihgt there... But decided to race anyway.
On lap 2 thru chicane, well, lets say, that I stayed there little longer than was ok. Soooo 1000DR lost and 8 SR. First and last race for this week.
Still kept the DR A, but only 650points to spare.

Just dont get the lack of grip I have, deleted the game and now reloading it, if that would make a difference.
Hope so...

GT3 at Nurb 24 was pretty good. Mustang, running 8:36's. RNGesus put me on pole twice, and I was able to run away, but ended up second to no-stop mileage racers both times. I was plenty fast, but too thirsty. Not really interested in fuel economy racing, so I suppose I'll try B tonight.

Definitely. Shifting manually helps control speed, control, gas conservation, cornering, forcing your car to move the way you want it to...

I just started playing GTS in November and had never touched another racing game, within a couple weeks I picked up a wheel and seat and decided I would try manually shifting... I'm not great at this game at all and it takes a little while to get used to it but it helps so much, definitely if you are having issues spinning out coming out of turns.

For a little bit of fun, when setting laps for race A in the mini, after the first corner was out the way I left it at full throttle and just controlled corner speed with the brake and i tell you, I wasn't much slower.

the C7 gets most of the power at the bottom so you can short shift that thing like crazy.

I'm finding race B a really fun race to do but an absolute SR killer, I wouldn't mind if the races had been dirty! But they haven't, and yet I've lost 31 SR!! I may have to start playing on one of my kids accounts :)

I dropped all the way down from S to B SR rating from racing on race B last night!

It's not even that people were being particularly dirty. But they are being too aggressive. Every single time on the first lap, first time through the bus stop, when everyone is still close together, people just aren't being calm enough and every race I somehow end up coming off worse, picking up penalties and losing SR, even when I was the one being bashed about!

Even when I tried to back off a little because someone had got alongside just before the entry to the bus stop, because you can't go flat through there two abreast, the people behind don't back off, they just see it as an opportunity and come crashing through into you. I end up being punted into the wall and spun around, losing SR and picking up penalties.

It's frustrating because I like that circuit and I can't help myself entering it. I'll end up SR rating E by the end of tonight!

I was in the same race A as you a couple times last night. A driver punted me right off the track in one of them, after I politely took the turn wide to give him room.

Ha, I switched to manual and now I try to shift in my RL car, getting annoyed at the AT doing it wrong. It does have race gears R1 and R2 past the regular D

After 4-5 laps, I managed to get down to 1:49,8xx on DT. There's still ~0,5 seconds to shave off that, but that's for another night. I cant wait to see the race result screen, with a bunch of cans in a hurry behind my GT-R/WRX/Evo/Atenza later this week.
There's something satisfying about beating the car-of-the-week with something else

For you guys who are really good at race A, how do you set up your brake balance?
I'm not really good but have been doing well there this week.

I've done OK with it at zero. But I've hit my best times with BB +2 rear. Only really helps on the 1st turn. Helps smooth the car out when trail braking. Otherwise the weight shift can make you lose speed. I usually start every time with the BB at zero then adjust it after a few lapse. That way you can compare with your ghost.

nice run Pigems, I just can't get the flow of this thing... I spent about 25 minutes and can't get better than 1.50, I'm horrible. Was using the 4C as I'm not a fan of the TT and the Ferrari which I use on the normal flow of this track wasn't liking the backwards bus stop.

Thanks, yesterday was a very good day. DT is a really tough go in reverse, try a car with good acceleration and straight line speed, it doesn’t have to be the TT, just not the 4C. :)

I got mine down to 6.024 and 20 more laps and still couldn't find that little extra to get into the 5's. Although looking at some of the guys vids on here today it appears I am a little short on speed crossing the line as I drop into 2nd coming round the final bend when staying in 3rd looks like the best bet. Even more so without a shifter and clutch.

Nice lap man, staying in third around the final corner could definitely be the difference that gets you over the hump, keep workin at it and you’ll get it! The shifter doesn’t help with this combo though, they gave us a sequential gearbox This week, it helped last week in the Miata though. :)

It’s crazy with these short track combos how crammed up the leaderboards get eh. On your other note, when we were separated from South America there for a bit it was even easier to get to the Top 100 here, but it was also likely that your 35-95 time in America would barely get you into the top 500 in the World, if it did at all.

For you guys who are really good at race A, how do you set up your brake balance?

I had BB at +3(to the rear) in the Mini. :)

Can you change it? It’s always greyed out in the car settings pre-race.

You sure can, on race A it’s locked out Pre race but can be accessed through the in race options where you find TCS/Map/Radar, you can scroll through and adjust each one on the fly. :)
