Yep, I’m stuck in it now. DPWOLFLA.
It looked like you were writing a message right before the start and stuck in the pit lane.
It started once you left. I got second and the fastest lap....
You were on that grid? What was your starting position?

And you're correct. I was trying to send a greeting message to the pole sitter.

So, the race went off without me? I just thought it froze for everybody. I was really wanting to do that last race before I went to bed to see if it was possible to move up one position to the top five

What was your fastest lap time? go ahead and tell me so I can be even more depressed. Lol

Back to the nurb. Fuel managing the Corvette is no problem. That car actually seems to accelerate faster with extreme short shifting. It has some more understeer over the Lexus, but is also a little better with tire wear so mediums compensate somewhat for that.

So far, still not been able to see what I'm capable of with that car as I was stuck in traffic for both laps again and got bumped off twice as a result. It's a bump or get bumped world out there. Especially the McLaren's are a nuisance. Good acceleration bad brakes, not good to have behind you in slow traffic.

Anyway, my new livery helped, 3rd place, penalty free, SR up, in a room full of red. I passed 3 people in the last section due to all their penalties... Perhaps the 11pm race is when clean racing starts... Keep hoping.

Yep C7 is faster. Finally a lap without getting bump off. I still got slowed down so should be able to squeeze more out of it but beat my Lexus time by 3 sec already, down to 8:27 flat.

Ptnd.jpg

Not penalty free as a McLaren tried to pass at the twisty section after the hairpin. Why do people keep trying to pass there. He blamed me for not defending in time, he had the inside (his nose) and I cut him off. It's the fast succession of lefts and rights, wtf is the inside there lol. The most horrible place to attempt a pass.

What am I supposed to do, weave like an idiot to block all the 'insides'? Or veer out of the way onto the grass. There's only one line through there... McLarens are the new GTRs (used to be the main nuisance on Bathurst)
So you did a no stop on mediums? How were the tires at the end. I was so worried about fuel I never even looked at tire wear, but they didn't change much.
I agree about the Vette. Like the GT, I think it does best, acceleration wise, shifting around 1/4 to 1/3 of the rev bar. Next time I'll try mediums and #2 on fuel and see if it will make it to the end with just short shifting. I hate messing with the mix. Anywhere but the straight and I'm asking to go off. I like to default to radar for traffic, too.

I leave the mix on FM1 all the way. Without anyone to draft you will still make it if you shift right before the bar start showing. It doesn't seem to slow the car down. The mediums do wear a bit but not much. If you stay on the road and not get punted etc, you will hardly notice the loss of grip at the end. Driving in a higher gear is also easier on the tires I assume.

Last race I got bumped off once at the beginning, drove pretty relentlessly on the tires, hard braking and a few slides to avoid traffic and the front tires were 1/3rd down at the end. 4% fuel left. Back tires has a bit more left. Perhaps changing the brake balance evens that out. I never touch that dial.

I'm getting used to driving without radar. That slows me down a bit though as I'm avoiding cars that aren't there  I should trust my fuel use a bit more instead of watching the percentage go down all the time.

One more race, perhaps the midnight race will be clean!

It was the most clean of the night, only 3 red ratings. 7th place finish. I went off once when a pushy A+/S one stop was right on my bumper when the car in front braked too much. The window for clean races keeps getting smaller, but it's only Tuesday. Perhaps this is why PD keeps recycling the same tracks. Keep repeating them until people finally know the track!

Yea brother! I entered starting 9th. I set a 1:09 qualy time. Once it began, which I wasn’t sure if it would, there were 3 of us left. I set the lap time of 1:07. Nothing special. I’m like you, I always race clean but never win consistently. In fact, if I finish 3rd or 4th, I chalk it up as a good run.

Welp, drunk me got a .47.235 on monday while drunk.
Sober me spent the entire afternoon today trying to at least come close to that time. Spent most of it struggling to get even .48
Out of frustration I went to race A to get back the SR I wasted away. Got back to A all the way from C (don't drink and race, kids. Ok maybe drink and do time trials, but definetly not racing).
Decided to give B another try before leaving for work. 5 straight laps on 47.5 and the last one 47.274.
It's still kinda sad that I couldn't beat drunk me. But I finally got to figure out what i was doing on monday and could get a few constant laps. Gives me more confidence for the coming days. I didn't even wanted to race on B today, my time was too good for me, no way I could keep it up.
At least there's hope now ^^

Dropped in for 1 evening Race A. Good to see Dairyworker there. Hope I didn't jinx you.

I finished with some +DR. Actually had 2 laps faster than my QT (crazy). But still couldn't make up ground on the front cars and almost lost a position right at the end. On a good + streak for the week. I hope it continues.

I did a bunch of racing tonight and it was all clean ish... a few bumps here and there but i didn't see or feel anything malicious. My driving definitely got worse as the night went on. Started getting tired and sloppy, which is what happend in the race with 0604. Had some great racing tonight and i hope tomorrow is the same. I also feel like i will hit a .05.xxx by weeks end since i managed plenty of 5.7 and under laps in racing tonight. Including a 5.5xx in my last race.

After going down to D/E on the reset, already at B/B

I first got demoted to C/E on the reset, but on the Next Race i got the DQ warning at the startup, and bam, T1 and got a tap behind. Got dq right there

Just a quick question, race B is full of TTs and Lambos, has anyone won using anything else on here? Or seen someone else win in a non-meta car? Just curious as am using the TT and kind of fancy a change, seen the odd other car on the grid but they never seem to win.

Those Meta‘s are ‚easy‘ to drive and thus used by more players and so will mostly take the win. But I guess a skilled driver could win with any car.

I personally avoid running with one of these cars driven by everybody else even if I won‘t win. But IMHO it‘s a GT-4 race and not „TT International Cup“ or „Huracan Trophy“

For the other replies regarding N24: it‘s just not a track for the occassional race. It requires cooperative drivers which most of the GTS entrants to the Sports Mode races aren‘t. Nobody backs up when common sense says he or she should and everybody tries to pass at any cost. If you watch a real race there you will rarely see a forced or fought pass because both drivers know „If we make contact chances are great that one or both of us end up partly in the trees“.

I tried something a little different last night.

When I was running quali laps I did some start simulations to specifically practice braking points at lower speeds and I found its helped greatly.

I started a couple of races from pole last night, and I was on average 1.5s up after the first turn, which is particularly powerful on DTII as you can take a more cautious approach into the the bus stop which I always find difficult on lap 1 when you are not in the rhythm yet and have someone nudging you from behind.

Managed 4 wins last night, races largely won at T1.

Will try those in a little while, just trying to avoid a reset at the minute, so resorted to a couple of race A's.
Trying race C now, gonna need some luck. Still not recovered my SR from Tokyo last week.

Edit: Used the McLaren F1 on hards, pulled over and let the field past at the start and had one more try at doing the elusive no stop race.
I used fuel map 5 round the circuit section at the start to get a bit of fuel banked and let the main field pull away as my main aim was to avoid contact and not lose SR.
I use auto gears and tried lifting and coasting where possible, mainly using fuel map 2 and yes I finally ran the full distance. Placed 8th and SR up 14 ;)
Decided to try again, same strategy, placed 6th and also got fastest overall lap on lap 2 of the race. SR up another 11 points but DR stayed about the same...

I just had two of my worst races ever at N24. Race 1 in the Supra had me start P9 with my 8:13 Q time and slowly slide down the order while fighting to save fuel. I limped home in P15. Race 2 in the AMG was going quite a bit better, until I bottled it 4-5 times over in the second half of lap 2 and finished P17, having started P9 again. I didn't go in expecting to finish anywhere near the top, but I certainly didn't think I'd do so poorly. I bled 2k DR in the process, down to 43363 :( Few people made mistakes and my opponents seemed to save their fuel and tires effortlessly! :scared:

The Supra isn't good on fuel... The AMG is noticeably better though. Any suggestions? I got the Corvette for my daily workout yesterday.

Did not expect this result. Huracan on Pole. TT 2nd. The Scirocco is damn quick and fast. Turns so tight.

Going w/ race B this week.
Q-time 1'49"7xx

I don't know if it's just me but, I find the 2 chicanes after the tunnel a bit crazy.
IRL I could never see myself go through those at these speeds...

A few Lap 1 incidents...
I know some were my fault. And I know some were not.

Started at B/S - now at B/A.

I've been having success with the Lexus and Corvette. The Lexus is a bit more nimble to avoid other cars, the Corvette is faster on the straights and accelerates a bit better while short shifting. Both need quite heavy short shifting to make it and I ran the Lexus in FM2 as well.

The AMG has been winning quite a few of the races I was in. A Corvette as well. I'm the only Lexus that has won a race :)

Yeah the chicanes are the game changers. Race B is definitely a SR killer. Like you I also went from S to B.

quick question... what does it mean when someone gets 'reset'... how does it happen? do you get an on screen message?

It's chaos again on N24

This is what happens when you brake for irresponsible track re-entries
I guess that's what csa is for
This is what happens when you keep a safe distance waiting for a place to attempt a pass
Yeah, I saw his nose coming. I also know that if I went wide he would have used me as a bumper and I would be in the wall. 4 sec penalty it is.
This is what happens when you say **** it and just keep your foot down
Now tell me, what's the correct driving style.
I'm trying out the Corvette yet haven't been able to get a lap yet without getting punted or rammed. A/S rooms are soo dirty. It's that time of night.

(some graphic snippage) And the theme song for today's post...."It's Murder on the Dance Floor" .....

The AMG has been winning quite a few of the races I was in. A Corvette as well. I'm the only Lexus that has won a race :)

I haven't seen any AMGs at the top of the races I've been in, but I have seen a couple of Corvettes, M6s, and a smattering of other cars.

I've been finishing in the top 3 most of the time, if I don't bottle it, with the Porsche and Corvette. I tried the Lexus, but just didn't get it done with that car on the Ring. I'm a fan of it normally. All no stops with Mediums.

Turismo Lester just got beat by WiseGuy in a Corvette in the race I was just in.

Goes to show how regions influence the meta. Corvettes in America, AMGs in Europe. I didn't see a single Corvette at the top today :p

I love the Viper.

I love the mid range power of that monstrous V10.
I love the lumpy off-beat sound.
I love the way it can catch up to just about any car in a straight line.
I love how the low gears are crossed and the top gears are spread out.

I love the Viper.

First race of the day and my first race in the Viper. Too many small mistakes and I underestimated the pole sitter. I was certain I had saved more fuel than him and that he'd struggle towards the end. That turned out to be wrong. A small mistake just before the straight on lap 2 most likely cost me a win but a good race anyway.

I must have just missed you as I raced those other guys. I was racing as AMTRAK968 this morning. I still prefer the Porsche. The brakes or lack thereof in the Corvette caught me out a bit the first race with it.

Race B again. This time with better results.

Race 1 - Grid P15 Race P12: It's filled with strong and consistent players, but the lower half of the grid were kind of penalty-ridden people. I ended up the only backfielder with no penalty due to my consistent driving and reaction.

Race 2 - Grid P16 Race P9: Lots of wild lawnmowers appearing out of nowhere, had to overtake a countryman ahead of me on the start straight to pursue the pack. Made up 3 places within the first hairpin in lap 1, the rest is just cautious and care. I almost ran into the chicane in lap 4 due to my excess carry of speed through and late turn-in. Nevertheless, my Huracan Gr. 4 is still pretty the solid beast that's easy to hover around.

Few days ago I had another surprise in which someone actually praising me for my sportsmanship, despite my lowly B rating. I guess that's a motivation to do better and consistent from then (of course minus the persistent rammers that you actually want to take a piss on).

I only did the one race today. I'll be back online shortly.

I haven't driven the Corvette in ages but I'll probably give it a go later.
Its fuel saving ability has won me many races in the past.

I usually prefer a high strung, high revving engine but there's something deeply satisfying in driving normally aspirated torque monsters like the Viper and Corvette.

i love your avatar

Your SR can’t be more than 2 levels below your DR or your DR resets to a lower value automatically.
gotcha. That makes sense 👍

Two great A races so far this morning. Even had a great race/battle with a person from a place that gets a lot of flack for the way they drive. One of the best clean and hard fights for first I've had. Sometimes i absolutely love this game. Going in for another now, i hope it's another good one.

It was another great race. Started pole and had a good 7 lap race against another guy from the same place. I haven't managed a win yet but i am getting consistent podiums.

Well tbe next race was a little strange in a way... i started in second and my buddy was in third. On the green the guy in pole was asleep or something so i got away while my friend got stuck in a mess. I ended up alone out front after the first turn(s) and just kept putting distance on the field to a four second gap in the end. My buddy got bounced down to 10th and made it back to 3rd in the end.

So far the A race has been fairly good this week. I didn't race monday though.... i have always been a road car guy in racing games especially gran turismo, but i would like to get my skills up to race with you guys in the B and C rooms. I am just so far off the pace there usually that i would just be in the way on the track.

Just a thought but it would be nice ( to me anyway) if there were 3 seperate threads, one for each race. I usually only do race A and find myself scrolling quite a bit to try and pick out the race A posts. I know its not all about me but I just figured I'd post my thoughts.
