7 weeks you say? You seem to be approaching it well. Hell, you've already hit a faster lap time than me on Race B. I've only managed a 2:00.240. The thing with me was; I bloomed too quickly then ended up withering. I was hitting roughly the same times with a DS4, with the same assists level (ASM off, ABS on, TCS 2), and I was able to adapt with just two hours of acclimatization. I then started climbing quickly to DR B, where my hotshot mentality was absolutely snuffed by opponents who knew the track better than me, and were also racing with fewer assists.I was completely out of my depth to begin with. Maybe 10/15 seconds a lap slower. I've found I need to concentrate more, and as such, my consistency does have lapses. I'm only about 7 weeks into the switch, with maybe 35/40 hours of wheel time.
I'm happy that I'm starting to match my best DS4 times. But I'm under no illusion that I'm near the end of the learning curve. My optimal time for Race B is currently a 58.5. Must work on that consistency
I've been racing with a wheel for over a year now, and have still yet to get back to that level. I think I'm slowly starting to get there. Just because you can drive a car in real life does not mean you can just translate those skills to a racing game. You have to start with the mentality that 'you know nothing', because then you can open yourself up. You seem to be doing that, so I think that you'll eventually be better than me, if you aren't already.
