That's interesting, I thought a one stop on Mediums was more optimal last time we had this combo. Maybe PD increased the multiplier for tyre wear this time.

Either way, I'm glad I saw your post, I planned to race on Ms.

Well the guy on pole had a Q time in the 46’s and he was running 49’s in race so I am assuming he was on hard tires. My Mediums were toast by lap 5 and I even put TCS 2 on to try and help with tire wear. I haven’t tried another race yet.

I’ve got the Honda down to a 1:11.8 so far, I lost at least 2 tenths in the final corner though according to my next couple of laps, but it’s only Monday so it’s a good start. Good for #9 in NA for a few minutes, only #4 on my friends list though.

Great Laps @Mistah_MCA and @QC YALUM

Gonna try to get closer to your time! Nice time!
However, the throttle on my G29 pedals are flickering a ton right now, so I'm trying to fix that. :banghead:

Everyone seems to be running Mediums. Stopping at then end of lap 5. Some try to go for an undercut nad stop 1 lap earlier. Not stopping doesn't seem to work. Haven't tried Hards but it seems to me the time lost is just not worth it.
Today was a mixed bag. Managed to get back all the SR I lost at Lago Maggiore. Set a 48.1 on race C. Now the bad stuff, I screwed up at least once in every. single. race. And I'm having a really rough time controlling the car once the tyres die.
I miss Super Formula cars

Thanks man, same to you. I’m sorry to hear about your throttle, could you swap it with the clutch temporarily until you can find a part to get you going again?

What I find to be a motivator, in regards to qualifying, is when I see someone ahead of me on the leader board that I know I've whipped on the track before. :irked:

Yeah those ones are good motivation for sure, it just sucks that once you beat their time they start behind you in the races.

Just had a good race in the Honda, started on pole and the guy in 2nd was only a tenth slower. He messed up t1 and fell back so I was able to cruise most of the race until lap 4 when he started to catch up. By the time I crossed the line he was .4 behind me, another lap or two and he was probably around me. But I held on for the win this time. :)

That's what I have Elite Dangerous for! It 'only' contains the entire milky way galaxy, yet from the edge you can zoom in and peer over to Andromeda. The amount of stars is literally dizzying, you don't realize how big a number 400 billion is until you start browsing through the map and try to fly to the other side (which takes weeks and thousands of jumps) Plus the sound design in that game is amazing.
I started watching the OA part 2, which is a nice mind bender as well.

From driving contact free without qualifying. I don't care that much about winning anymore, I like to start from the back to practice overtaking safely. In a race C there is plenty of time to catch up with the fast guys. Race B is too short to get to the front and on average lowers my DR to mid or low DR.B. Driving without qualifying while getting out of the way of everyone (to avoid that SR down from someone bumping into you) had my average finish position at 11, thus net DR loss.

This is my DR from the past 3 week. (until last Thursday, stopped updating for some reason)
Pgrd.jpg

Before the peak I was driving without qualifying on the N24 race C. Then I qualified for the last 5 races which briefly put me into A+.
Next day, Suzuka was chaos with the SF19 and I quickly figured out that DR.A always got the short end of the stick when DR.B makes contact. Hence I kept my DR in DR.B to be on even ground in the back field.
This week I went for a clean streak record, which meant getting out of the way of any car that comes close. Although I still had some good results with a 5th place in there, my average was 11th due to conceding positions as soon as a car came back in range.

I qualified on Friday, did another 17 clean races Friday and Saturday until it was ended by a simple bump from behind. Currently my DR is 25K, going up again. It's never been steady as I don't really care what DR does. It has very little effect on matchmaking. Only during prime time did I actually get some rooms where there were no A/S while I was at DR.D. Since I got back to DR.B it has been A+/S on pole again. DR means so little for sport races.

This is my entire history
Ugrd.jpg

All the peaks past day 300 are from N24 and Nordschleife where I hve over 1,100 races combined.
The 2 weeks spend at low SR are from Blue moon bay (which together with Monza are responsible for most of the low SR occurances) where draft bumping (or rather getting draft bumped) will quickly dump you down the SR ladder. The other was from Tokyo, same thing there, get bumped from behind SR down or even a penalty when the car behind taps the wall after.

Racing without qualifying, it just depends on how long the race is where my DR settles for the week. Winning contact free without qualifying, that's the holy grail for me :) It happens now and then. Very rare in a daily B but quite achievable in a daily C (outside prime time)

A strange way of going racing but it's only a game and we play it how we want.

it just suck when they start behind you in the races after that
To be clear, when I say whipped, I mean beaten, not punted.

Side note: I just saw something funny. Check this out-->
Haven't tried Hards but it seems to me the time lost is just not worth it.

I'm having a really rough time controlling the car once the tyres die.

Doh, screwed by the penalty zone again in race B. I managed to avoid the 4 ghosts scattered across the track yet then I was off the racing line, had to slow a bit extra for the tunnel entrance and one of the penalty recoveries drove right into me and the wall, bumping me enough so I hit the other wall. 3 sec plus SR Down and another 5 sec for hitting the other wall. Another good idea ruined. Why allow a car that just served a penalty to give a penalty to another car that's simply trying to dodge them...

Reporting from the backfield, don't be in the backfield. You get all the crap thrown your way!

Thanks man, same to you. I’m sorry to hear about your throttle, could you swap it with the clutch temporarily until you can find a part to get you going again?
Hmmm no idea. I found a guide that cleans the potentiometer, so hopefully I can get that cleaned tonight.
I have some lap guide videos I need to make, and if that doesn't fix it, then that means I'll need to do the laps on the DS4 lol.

@sturk0167 Ah, thanks for the clarification, that makes more sense. 👍

@Sven Jurgens Are you continueing on race B or switching to C? B’s the only one I don’t have a Q time for now.

The Tokyo tracks would be awesome if there were no walls, just nice wide curbs like the Dragon Trail tracks. :)

@Mistah_MCA Awesome!! I hope it works man. I couldn’t go back to a DS4 at this point, I tried recently, I can’t even win in GT League with one anymore.

To anyone who knows, is nonstop on Hard tires the way to go for Race C? Or the one stop one Mediums?

Switching to C then, unless I misunderstood your intentions and want to drive from the back. You have 2 minutes to decide! signed up for c atm.

C it is. I'll try a non stop on hards as I have nothing to lose :)

The only thing I like about Tokyo is the sense of speed. Removing the walls would eliminate that. Is there a pit straight on that variant? Penalties should be served there.

Hmm, I'm in a B/S to C/S room. No megip!

Haha I missed that one, my son just got home. I’ll be in the next one on the BoR account, I forgot all about that one lol. I can still start from the back! :D

How was the no stop on hards?

Stop is better. My best lap was 1:53 in lap 3, by the end I was doing 1:57 laps while getting harassed from behind. Medium one stop next. I did get to 9th place (well 6th but 3 passed in the last few laps) Tires were mostly gone at the end.

Cool, thanks for the info, stop on 5? I’m signed up for the next one at 93 SR.

Edit: You’re starting behind me, I put a bumper sticker on just in case that happened. ;)

Edit: I somehow managed to catch back up to Sven after getting spun up in the final chicane, he must have gotten held up. Sorry about the bump in spoon, I didn’t expect you to brake that hard there lol. Great race man, that was super fun!! I’m signed up for the next one already.

Dang, forgot to read your bumper sticker, next time. Sorry about being slow at spoon. It was my dyslexia at work. Looking at the leader board I though you were in front of me, started braking early to make sure not to run into you, doing just that lol.

Fun race!

I went wide, losing 2 spots in the gravel. So understeery!

No worries, I had cones turned off to start and was messed up anyways lol. Had to pause after I spun out and turn them back on. I don’t even use them here but I just like having them on for some reason.

Dang, bunch of no good no qualifiers between us. How dare they.

What the hell is with Race A this week?! Seems like PD forgot to turn on penalties. It's practically bumper cars, free for all banger racing. Are the cars going too slowly to cause a penalty inducing collision? Because the best strategy here is to hang back behind the top pack until the last lap, and launch a kamikaze attack in the final hairpin. I lost 10 SR just in one race last night (the most I've ever lost in one go). Luckily I still won because everyone else is too busy trying to fight each other and I slipped to the lead quietly. Slow cars on tight tracks are my preferred combo but if it's at the risk of nuking my SR then no thanks.

Daily B isn't much better either. Daily C is just another repetition. Not a great week but then again, I farmed the hell out of the 250 SWB and GT86 race the last 2 weeks...

I was in a rush and meant to type, Can you even see me from way back there lol.

That was a great race, I was up to 9th going onto lap 10 when the person in front just pulls over as we cross the line? She thought the race was over lol, she said so afterwards haha, we all done that at least once. Inpassed one more off-roader before the end to finish 7th with Sven two cars behind at the finish. Another fun race. :)

Whoops, almost missed the next one lol.

Hmm tire wear is brutal in GR.2, I need to drive a lot cleaner I guess. I stayed on track all race, clean race bonus, yet still a drop of 4 seconds in lap times for the final lap. Does nobody make quality tires anymore. Are we racing on tissue paper.

Feels like we're driving on this

Ah 19th and 20th next, this will be good!

I think I fixed the problem. I did a quick test after cleaning it and the throttle seems to work fine again. I'm assembling everything back together. For the potentiometers, I read comment that mentioned that I didn't need to unplug the wires... so I wasted time on that. Lol.

I don't have an electric cleaning spray, but I used a duster for electronics and seems to work fine. Pray for me

Here's a pic of the surgery.

Hmm, I decided to run some qual, last time at Tsukuba I did well on q although I didn’t end up racing. I saw your time @Pigems and I thought hmmm, let’s try and get that.
Ha. 40 minutes and only my optimal comes close, then I look to see you are on the top ten!
Nice work there.
I did a and c qual. I may run a. I seem to stink at gr2. It’s like I want it to be like the
Open wheel cars and I keep crashing like what is wrong with my Lexus lol.
Have fun guys...

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who plays this game that has a job.

I’m a roofer, and we get a lot of rain in Nova Scotia.

Best result so far!! 3rd place finish! Video replay to come shortly, the Batmobile is hummin tonight. :)

Good race Sven!! Thanks, You weren’t far behind there for a while, Ingot so lucky there a couple times(drove through a ghost and had a guy clear my path for me later on lol) in that race to whind up 3rd, probably won’t top that all week. :D

@Pigems great podium there! Awesome. This one car first spun out and took me with him, I got the SR Down for it while his car was saved by hitting me. I fell back to almost last. Then after I caught up to him he had a 0.5 sec penalty. I was right behind him but he drove me off as a ghost. Dirty move. Then at the end I got stuck behind a Brazilian and ARgentinian fighting each other. The Brazilian went off in spoon, Argentinian got 4 sec penalty, 2 places gained for me at the end lol.

Just a feeling. I know its not true. Just seems like a lot of people do a lot of races every day, I'd have no time for actual life. And I thankfully don't even have kids. Good thing summer is coming, I like outside.

Winter keeps coming back ugh. Hence so much racing still. I should be out cycling by now. I swear I saw snow falling this morning at the bus stop.

I commend you. I've done some roofing before and it's absolutely brutal here in AZ. Thankfully it was just an odd job here and there with my last company.

Current company has me working graveyard now, though, and that's starting to get a little old after a year and a half of it.
