Race A.
Started pole (Q-time: 1"11"80x)
Laps 1~2 P2 gaining on me
Lap 3 overtaken by P2, via "friendly" bump (2:55~ on vid)
Lap 4 overtook P2, with my own "friendly" bump (3:55~ on vid)
Final lap anticipated another "friendly" bump from P2 but was prepared this time around (6:35~ on vid)

Not really sure how P2 felt about his/her "friendly" bumps, but... my lap 4 bump was not meant to be friendly at all....

Next race
My first 3 star win.
Nothing really happend during the race. Felt like 6 hot laps.

It seems I don't suck as much in the weeklys in slow cars...
I just can't handle the faster cars...

@Sven Jurgens So the guy in the Orange Lexus decided to part his car on the braking point, that’s what happened there, at least it wasn’t my fault  . I thought I might have cut him off but he brakes hard for some reason and lets me by, making a mess for you two behind him in the process.

I just shared that photo as well, tagged it Suzuka, SvennoJ and Pigems. Hopefully that makes it easy to find. :)

Thanks got it!

When I turned on the ps4 I saw Tom messaged me, apologizing for the bump. He said he's often surprised by the early braking of slow people. Well that's life when starting from the back. It's your responsibility to pass safely even if you're 2 sec or 5 sec per lap faster. On Catalunya I often had to drive 5 sec under my pace to set that clean streak.

Anyway he tries. It's not easy starting last and having to negotiate the backfield which is a mix of inexperienced drivers, sandbagged or no qualifying times and reckless or punted off people that fell back from the front. It makes races very interesting and if you do it right, after a while people will respect you and give you room. A lot of my best results are thanks to those who know me and make a space for me to pass when I come flying by from the back. Respect others on the track and they'll respect you back.

Awesome, I’ve never tagged a photo for someone to find before so I wasn’t sure if I did it right or not lol.

At least he apologized, it’s more than you get most times, hopefully he learned something and will be better next time. You’re completely right though, after a few good clean races with people they start to treat you better in most cases. I find that the more people you know in a room the cleaner the race in most cases. :)

So I’ve briefly analyzed my best lap on Suzuka vs the top time and this is what I’ve come up with, I’m blowing these two corners every time, typically I can tell where I’m losing time but it was was so consistent in this case I had to break it down to find it. If I can clean up these two corners I can easily go sub 48 this week. :)

God I feel so stupid and angry.
A guy punted me in the turn before the "long" straight of Tsukuba and I got 5s penalty. I wanted a revenge and I punted the wrong guy. I had to serve 10s penalty and then I drove like a douchebag for the rest of the race. DR and SR falling down like a birdcrap.

I hate gt sport right now

-
Ok I lost it. Started 3rd got punted thee times in the first lap by a Brit a Russian and a Turkish, I had 8s penalty so I quit my first ever sport race. I can't take it anymore. No more gt sport for me.
do someone nationality have something to do with driving behavior ? Or its only racism ?

The T300RS (GT edition) is a much better wheel than the G29 IMHO.
I had a G27 (which is similar to G29) + DriveHub adaptor and can say that the T300RS is smoother and you get more feedback (like understeer rumble). The G27/G29 has a small dead-spot in the centre which some people hate, and I don't regret buying the T300RS. I think the T150RS PRO is more comparable to the G29?

If you think Canadian prices are bad, here in New Zealand the RRP of the G29 is ~$500NZD (which is about 430CAD I think), the T300RS GT edition is ~$850NZD, T-GT ~$1400NZD and we can't buy Fanatec gear in NZ either! And yeah, I waited until the T300RS GT edition was on sale for $675NZD which still seems expensive when I look at international prices......

All the research i did led me to want a t300rs gt and seems like its worth the wait. And the regular g29 price here is 400 and the t300rs gt is 419.99. If g29s didnt go on sale so often alot less people would have them lol. Seems like they jacked the t300 price up in NZ though from what you said.

So I returned to the "war zone" yesterday as got some free time.

Surprised myself with the Honda S660 and got a 1:12.268 and after several races have returned to DR C and SR S.

Some close racing but very few penalties, not sure I am brave enough for the Tokyo Expressway race but a friend did win there in
the Alfa 4C so might give it a go. Suzuka will only manage that one at the weekend.

Same here... I will be racing tonight but not sure if I will give race B a try because of the possible carnage. I will try to set a good Q and see what will happen...

So I was curious about setting times on the DS4 for the A and C races. I ended getting times that were .5 and .7 seconds slower than my best (which was on the wheel). However, at least to me, it feels MUCH harder to get those times on the DS4. Is it just me, or do other DS4 players also feel that it is much harder to get better times?
I'm .4 behind you in the 660. Tomorrow, when I have more time, I'll see if I can get closer. I don't feel disadvantaged, against wheel users. It's the damn pedal users. ;)

If Canada had that sale id probably buy a t300 rs gt asap. Im kinda pissed it never goes on sale here but US can get $94 off.

I hear you on that. Found a slightly used csl elite setup for sale about 50 miles away but unfortunately it’s for Xbox and P.C. .

Getting a lot of playing time since my wife and son are in Europe visiting family.

Finished 7th on my final race last night. Found out a road cone in the middle of a sweeping right can turn the GT-R into an airborne projectile.

the used/re-sale market where i am is so dumb. people selling G29s and the odd t300 for more than a brand new one costs. its honestly hilarious.

First race of the day is out of the way now, I found some speed in the hairpin in the way I was gearing down, I was hitting first way to soon before. I probably could have gain one or two more but I politely waited for over a lap to pass one guy and then took off again once around him. It was a nice clean race, hopefully the next will be too.

Yeah, it snowed here today.

Been thinking about doing some proper track guides, along the lines of whats written in this post? Anyone find it helpful or has tips for what they would rather see or hear let me know please :)

Coming into the first part of T1 turn in just after the last white board, i tend to lift a little at that point to help turn in also, then hard on the brakes near the end of the red and white curb on the inside, brake balance -2 to settle the car on the brakes, getting on the power gradually through the exit.

Stay in 4th and turn in smoothly into esses with a little throttle still on, dropping to 3rd for the second one and leaving just enough room to stay flat/almost flat through the very last one, then, slight touch on the brakes into degner 1, and aim to carry momentum through degner 2, braking too late costs more time than braking too early.

Down to first for the hairpin and then go to about 1/3 or 1/4 throttle to build some speed/ shift weight for more traction before progressively full throttle into 2nd and third, this takes some practice, too gradual and you lose time, too fast and you get wheelspin just like the SF19 the other week, im back to +1 rear brake balance at this point.

Switch brake balance to +4 for spoon because you need to brake while turning, exit is vital and so hard to maximise in the GTR, gradual power application seems to be the key to avoid oversteer, but carrying momentum through the apex also helps with this.

Last chicane is very tricky with all the downforce virtually gone, so switch back to brake balance +1 and make sure to be gentle and smooth on the power and take the shortest route to the line, you can also cut the second part fairly aggressively.

ABS is default, all other assists are off, G29 wheel and pedal set, lap time was 1:46.350
Edit - 46 not 36

Good work! Started out today with a 1:50.071 qualifying time. Slowly getting faster.

WOW! Nice run. I’ve been running the brake balance at -4 to -3. I’ll have to give your method a try. Time to study your video a bit. Thank you for sharing!

Today's my Friday, so I hope you guys are still racing tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your snow. I'll be hitting some golf balls in two days. First time in a long time. The forecast is 83 degrees.

I’m soooo jealous!! I haven’t hit a ball since last September! I haven’t gone this long in 5 years lol. I normally play sim golf all winter but GT took over that time slot, and then some.

I’ve got Friday off as a holiday anyways so I’ll be around then for sure, and tonight.

Tried a no stop on hards this time, made it farther but had to give two spots back in the final laps. I started 18th but the final screen doesn’t count drop outs for some reason. :)

I haven't done that race yet, but would it be feasible to go off sequence from the majority, and maybe do 4 laps of medium, then 6 laps of hard?

It’s possible depending on your strategy and start position, I’ve tried a few but haven’t purposely mixed tires yet. So far I’ve gone 5M/5M, 6M/4M, 1H/5M/4M lol and 10H. Mediums the whole way is the easiest route, Hards the whole way works alright in a slower rooms but they die off pretty bad at the end. If you’re gonna make a pit stop you might as well go mediums the entire time, I hadn’t thought about mixing them yet. :)

What ya thinking, hold off until lap 7/8 on Hards and then try to make a dash at the end on fresh Mediums?

I suppose that if you could keep a good pace for 7 laps with RHs, you'd be whipping everybody the last 3 laps with RMs.

*Theory only, at this point. Might not actually work.

I did a 1:17,7**!!!!!!
Well just drive in 5th and 4th gear!! It helps!
Brake Balance right in the middle! Got turn arounds with brake balance to the rear, and much understeer in the front.
So now I hope for some good races!!

Congrats on the time. I think my 1:17.9 QT was a "one in a million" because I haven't been able to come close to it since. :banghead: I'll try playing around with BB.

I didn't race it but the Italia also feels nice here. Good handling around corners without losing too much speed. I managed a 1:18.3 with it, at least.
