Backtrack to last week in Barcelona, quite a few interesting races throughout. Mostly clean and positive looking. I went for the back-of-the-grid fashion to improve my skills around slower racers, instead of qualifying for a decent laptime.

12th Apr:
Round 1 - Grid P11 Race P4

13th Apr:
Round 1 - Grid P12 Race P4

14th Apr:
Round 1 - Grid P15 Race P7. The finishes got lower due to the higher SR ratings I was climbing through, but yeah it was pretty decent drive.
Round 2 - Grid P14 Race P10. This was a rather bizarre race, as the formation grid on the back end was slowed to like 20km/h around the final chicane. I had the video captured and it seems like the racer has deliberately put the handbrakes on during the countdown. Nevertheless, I chased the backmarkers down within 2 laps.
Round 3 - Grid P14 Race P7. Yep, I'm synonymous with the date and my starting position. I should've raced on the 1st day of the month. lol

The rest of the week was just marathon farming....till recently at Tsukuba for some authentic racing. Did set a qualifying time around to test the very limit of my ability, as well as switching off that cursed traction control that's hindering my laptimes badly. From mid-1:14 to low-1:12 with a controller. Not too shabby after all.

18th Apr:
Round 1 - Grid P7 Race P8. Got knocked off in Tsukuba early in the stages and the tightly bunched up midfielders made overtaking a challenge. Last lap final corner I had a little tap to the fellow countryman to push him from P7 to P5 within seconds, to display my annoyance over the horrid slow-mo like driving by the other players.

Round 2 - Grid P4 Race P6. Total carnage! Got hit from behind on a first lap incident and was placed dead last because I couldn't turn myself around in the middle of the track to risk another accident. That's where a little miracle happened, put an angry foot to the pedal and got past for a splendid recovery drive. One nice guy made off the racing line in P9 knowing that I've shaved 5 seconds off his laptime (thanks for that), the rest is just overtaking and pushing the car into the 1:12 region, whilst exchanging car paint for awareness.
Best part, no damage to SR but an increase instead! Of course I called out the hazard Japanese player post-race for being such an idiot.

Round 3 - Grid P3 Race P3. The podium runners were definitely on the limit, setting faster laptimes one after another (I guess it was within 0.8 seconds, that's where we all set 1:12 times throughout). Held off my butt getting slapped by another car into the first lap and the rest was just rockets away. The race separated the top 3 finishers in just under 2 seconds.

Quite a positive run this week, compared to last week's which I've seen a lot of lucky places gained due to ballerinas spinning the Swan Lake in Barcelona circuit despite running on a handicapped Ford GT LM Test Car (91% power and 114% weight) with awesome superchargers. In Tsukuba, it was quite the contrary, where common mistakes were made braking into turn 1 hairpin at high speeds, leading to costly paint jobs getting ruined and a dented front bumper which resembled a botched nosejob.

Had a string of good races this morning. Not fast, and no wins, but clean competiton and podiums is good enough for me. Took a break cuse i had a few things to do. After i just wanted to see if i could finally be able to improve my qualifying lap time before i go to work today. It took many laps but it happened... 1.11.597 my previous best was from my first ten laps monday morning...

One of the long forgotten about tracks like Alsace, Sainte-Croix, Willow Springs and Monza would be nice to see although it's likely going to be:

Race A: Autodromo Lago Maggiore Central (N100)

Race B: Fuji (Gr.4)

Race C: Autopolis (Gr.2 or Toyota SF19)
We did SF last week GR2 this week and you would like to have SF or GR2 as daily spin C :banghead:

I'm seeing a lot of guys running a no-stop strategy on race C, but then refuse to accept they're slower and just end up blocking everyone. It would be easier for them if they didn't fight too hard for positions, but they do and end up losing much more time and creating gigantic trains behind them.

Wound up with a 2nd Place but why do people drive like this? you can hear his car rev as he tried to hit me and he GG'd himself lmao.

Because we live in an age where every pathetic loser was awarded with a trophy when they lost so now every bottom feeding loser thinks they're entitled to 1st place.

I have actually had really good luck with clean racing in the limited amount of races I've done this week. I was reset last week after losing my patience with a fool but after doing 5 or 6 race C's yesterday I am up to SR S.

I just did a C race, and the only other non-qualifier was an A+ guy. Don't understand why he would tank his rating like that.

It's funner to race from the back, I do it as well. I don't give a ---- about my DR rating

Yes, I was stuck behind one earlier after pitting and lost at least 4 seconds in not even one full lap but as I had a big lead I wasn't throwing it away with any risky move, as I've seen plenty of these drivers do very dirty moves just to try to stop anyone getting past them.

On a related note we need a graphic to tell us what tyres people are on when there are more than one compound available.

I get it. I race from the back all the time. I don't expect the A+ guys to do it, though.

If I get there on my 2nd account and if a favourable race like the SF one comes up again I probably will, I will still race from the back as I've done that for every single race on that account. Maybe this person has done the same and it's got to be even easy to do it in your region if you have decentish pace. Or they just don't care about their rating as has already been suggested.

So, has anyone tried race c without stopping? I’m pretty sure it’s possible. I went out with a mixed set of tyres, hard front, soft on the back. It made the tyre wear much more even. I’ve done the race three times and haven’t seen/noticed anyone doing well on a no stop strategy.

I’ve done a no stop on Hards and mediums, I don’t really recommend either lol. Hards are ok but they die pretty bad on the last lap or two.

If that guy did care about his DR rating, I'm sure he regrets it, because he finished 11th, and I finished 9th. And I really suck at that race. He was not in the next one.

@Pigems Next race, this is what my medium tires looked like at the end. I was driving the Lexus.
I started 20th, and spun in turn 1, on the first lap. By the time, I was back on track, I was 7 seconds behind 19th. I figured it was as good a time as any to try the medium no-stop. I was just trying to cruise around nice and easy to preserve the tires. Ended up 13th, because 7 people quit. I've never seen a race with so many quitters.

Done race C about 15 times. Finished first ever time without stopping using the softest tire all the way around.

You must be Turismo-Windfire are you? That was some impressive stuff last night man! I’m GTmegip/Bringerofrain279, I was in a few of those races, your tires were SHOT by the end man, wow.

But where did you finish?

First every time, he even went off the road one race and still won lol.

Yes, this weeks race C is not the greatest for running from the back and that's before you come across the heavy defenders or dirty drivers. My rating has gone nowhere, been getting 8th or so a lot and that is just not high enough for it to rise but I'll still do at least one race a day to do my daily mileage. :)

Mind you I've not done much better in some of the races on my main account, one mistake and you are in trouble and likely stuck behind a car or three. In qualifying I can only improve my optimum too, for me Suzuka is a tricky track and I always mess something up it seems. :dopey:

I just started in pole for my first race, and tried a no-stopper on mediums. I drove pretty conservatively and still got overtaken on the last lap in the final few sectors. Felt like I threw away a win there but still a solid P2. I’m gonna try stopping next.

I’ve been having a blast this week running from the back in race C, it’s more fun then starting up front. You get to play offence instead of defence for most of the race. :)

You mean you've got to worry about another driver knocking you off or braking for no reason, instead of throwing away your comfortable lead all by yourself, well that's what applies to me mostly, some races are an exception. ;)

you are about to witness an execution for which i received no penalty. Race C.

So I made a mistake and fell to 10th from 7th, im catching 9th and im clearly faster but hes blocking me in a shady fashion. We are at the hair pin and he moves to the inside line but then he swerves in front of me at the braking point so he gets punted but he gave me no time to brake earlier. he catches me next lap because of my penalty and i went wide through degners. i take the inside at the hairpin and he blasts me off track as revenge i guess. he tries to swerve another guy off the track during his penalty who wasnt invovled and tries to get me too. so i pit on that lap (4) for an undercut. later when he pits he comes out right in front of me and drives slow in front of me so i executed him and didnt receive a penalty because he was moving slow on the race line i guess. The only clip i dont have is when i hit him the first time but again swerving in front of me bumper to bumper at the brake point is on him.

might just join a lobby. already done with this weeks overused combos.

3 race B tonight. Quite fast rooms I think. My qualy, 1:17.18x got me grid p5, p8 and p7. Finished p9, p5 and p6 with door number 10 in all races.
Got 5 sec penalty in first race, and dropped to 14th managed to find my pace back and got to p9... Own fault, dont run in to the walls
Clean racing.

DR up 900 points and SR back to 99 from 92. :)

I do care about my DR and being a wery competative person, would not have it any other way
Butt.... Will not race dirty to get dr up

I'm with you, starting 17-20 and finishing 4-8 in each race. But I guess if you are racing in lower SR that could be where Ash is running into trouble.

I'll take Lemans one-make, any car, truck, suv, van or kart. 👍

You sure about that. No chicane version with karts or sambabus

I've seen you on the track, or rather on the board :bowdown:Your tire wear after 10 laps looks like mine after 6  Maybe in another 7000 races I'll be able to make it 10 laps on mediums

I'm getting better, I used to frequently get timed out on Suzuka GR.2. Perhaps if I had a skill full passenger I might be able to keep up

I think you punted him into next weeks inevitable Suzuka race! lol

There is no way my SR will ever go up with people like this

Skip the first lap and half

use race C to farm SR, run from the back... you will be an S in two races. Congrats on being able to do the A race, I did about 3 turns on that combo and quit.

It is not, well apart from one race which was indeed a mess, it's in a top room (for this daily, mostly just average A drivers with a couple of good but not alien drivers) but when you are running four seconds a lap off the pace on a track with very few overtaking spots with cars that have quite a bit of dirty air and then people defend even for 18th place you are soon far behind with an impossible task to catch 5th and above and maybe a few lower down than that, unless they start knocking each other off and that's before someone decides to bash you about or off the track or slam the brakes on somewhere unneeded and cause me to knock them off and get me a three second penalty. For example in my race earlier I set my fastest lap of the race on the last lap and had to overtake 8th place on that lap, every other lap I was losing time behind cars I couldn't quickly pass or behind the guy that "earned" me a penalty and helped ruin his race too. :indiff:

For the record I don't actually mind the defenders, that's fair enough and should be expected really. It's just an explanation as to why running from the back is tough at this combo.

I typically will only attempt to defend for a corner or two, if the guys still right on my bumper I’ll let him by, I don’t want to be holding anyone up and ruing there chances of moving farther up the board if they really are that much faster. :)
