use race C to farm SR, run from the back... you will be an S in two races. Congrats on being able to do the A race, I did about 3 turns on that combo and quit.
Yeah, just got a victory and clean race on race A. Gained only 9SR.

I will do what you say and do race C instead. I just dont really like taking the risk to race Gr2 cars in SR.B it's too easy to do involontary contact with other cars because the cars are so fast and nervous, and its easy to oversteer in a turn and get hit by someone.

Vs. another Japanese race? 100% yes! 👍

I'm switching to race A. 5 C races, so far, and haven't seen anybody I know. Other than racing with friends, I don't really care to do races on that track. 👎

Come back, I'm signing up for 4pm (in 7 minutes)
Or I could try Tsukaboo from the back.

I'm gambling you're still on A. 2 minutes to decide

Okay, let's get the off topic stuff out of the way: My exam results are out and I'm eligible to study medicine!! So elated right now :D

I also did some things in GTS! 4th, 2nd and 1st in Tokyo while improving my Q time by 18ms to 1:16.771. Something interesting happened in the last race. Look closely at the leaderboard...

Hmm... :odd: Let's look at the replay.

Press F to pay respects :(

I'm already signed up for race A, in 4 minutes.

Allright then, I'm in the flame red car without a clue. Never driven it before. Qualifying button already greyed out, no practice!

You're either icognito or in a different room. I guess I'll have to punt every single one then.

Well, I got the clean race bonus, did not get timed out, did not finish last (since 2 quit), and had a stellar best lap of 1.14.072. Awesome

Race C next.

I'm at 91. See you in Japan.

So, has anyone tried race c without stopping? I’m pretty sure it’s possible. I went out with a mixed set of tyres, hard front, soft on the back. It made the tyre wear much more even. I’ve done the race three times and haven’t seen/noticed anyone doing well on a no stop strategy.
Yes. I came 2nd from 11th in one race and 12th from 19th in another.

We did SF last week GR2 this week and you would like to have SF or GR2 as daily spin C :banghead:

I never said "like", I said "likely".

We also didn't have a SF Race C last week. Last week was Fuji with the Toyota 86.

If it wasn't already obvious, it was supposed to be a joke with what I think PD's scheduled races will be over the races we actually want.

I can't shake this feeling that something's wrong with Tsukuba. Could it be more fun to drive on when there are fewer cars on the course? Or is it that the provided Honda S660 should've had a power closer to its stock amount?

Moving on, I had some ideas regarding the Daily Race format. First-off, I've noticed that both Races A and B are typically around the same length, with them being hosted every 20mins, whereas Race C is hosted every half-hour. I have a proposal, you see, either for GTS or a future GT game if it ultimately uses the Daily Race format.

The first element would be that upon selecting the "Daily Race" tab (which would be renamed to something a bit less time-dependent, in case PD wants to rotate them on a different basis) you'd be then prompted to pick between the "Sprint" and "Endurance" races that are available for this period. Not to worry - the term "endurance" will not indicate the races' duration at all, but rather that the races' duration depends on a quantity of time, rather than lap count. Upon selecting either tab, you'll be shown a variety of races, all of which will rotate weekly. There may be more letters than just A, B, and C, potentially offering a wider variety of weekly races, and as one moves down the alphabet, the length of the event will increase proportionately, and the times each race is hosted will reflect this.

More often than not, fuel/tire depletion will always be on in one way or another. For example, in a race where these would've been disabled, they'd simply be put on 1x, so that they'd have depleted by a negligible amount by the time the race ends. (I wonder if it may be good to match the amount that one is increased to the other - ergo, if tires are set to 2x, then fuel would also be 2x.) In addition, drafting strength and grip off-road would typically be set to realistic. Finally, for most races, I'd enable light damage, as I hypothesize this will make racing cleaner, in addition to the penalties, and the bonuses given through consecutive clean races. Of course, there could always still be races where these parameters are played around with, on occasion. I, for one, almost sort of liked that Nations Cup race at Fuji Speedway with N500 cars, where the tire wear was unusually high.

I also propose the the maximum length of any race should be similar to the races exhibited in GT3's Endurance League. I felt like that was a reasonable medium. GTS' Endurance League comes close, but I wouldn't mind a race that goes for just a bit longer - especially online.

Next, if/when real-time weather and time-of-day returns to the series, then the real-world weather conditions/forecast/lighting of that course could be reflected in-game, rather than having it be comparatively random or dependent on one of the players' location.

I will try to wrap this up with what I'd do for the restrictions regarding the cars themselves. Like we see now, I'd almost always have BoP on and settings disabled, with occasional exceptions like this one Nations Cup race at Suzuka with the W08. However, I'd also potentially enact "sub-rules" on the car selection, such as a Gr.1 race where you can only use Group C cars, or an N300 race but you can only use cars that come as-is within N300, with N200 & N400 cars being among the prohibited vehicles. Other ideas could include a Gr.3 race limited to Super GT300 cars, including the WRX STI and Lancer Evo X Gr.3, as well as FIA GT3 cars that've appear in GT300 such as the BMW Z4 GT3. This all could even further diversify the races that we see, making things more fun than just limiting ourselves to either one-makes or allowing the entirety of vehicles within one of the "staple groups."

There could even be a "motif" to the rotated races, wherein on occasion, some races could be partially modeled on real-world motorsport events going on at the time. Think of this as being like an "event" mechanic in other games.

The problem with the race A is always the same when its a N100 race. The cars are not powerful enough, the straight line is short so you can't overtake using to drafting. You have to hope the guy in front does a mistake or that you manage a perfect overtake (almost impossible).
There was no problem with the ferrari last week, because the car was powerful enough so that
1- the cars go fast enough for drafting to allow overtake in straight line
2- the car accelerate fast enough so that a small difference in exit speed allows you to overtake even without drafting.

In the video i posted before, the two overtake i "managed" were only possible because the opponents did an obvious mistake, namely taking the last turn slow. Two similarly skilled players can not overtake each other in N100 car at such slow speed.

it was awesome that we had 9 laps Gr3 at Bathurst for Race C the week of the 12hr of bathurst race. seemed like it was just a coincidence though.

I was with you, at race A. I was racing as RPMcmurphy01. You're right that car sucks. Race A has been much more fun when we've had cars closer to 300 hp.

I've lost so much DR on C this week it's almost tear jerking. Gone from A to B to C to B and then back to C all the while maintaining a healthy SR

I've give up for now, currently watching Creed 2 seeking some kind of "Come back motivation" of sorts

You mean you've got to worry about another driver knocking you off or braking for no reason, instead of throwing away your comfortable lead all by yourself, well that's what applies to me mostly, some races are an exception. ;)

I’m with ya man, my mind tends to wander when I’m alone on the track, especially if there’s no one else to catch up to. I’d be willing to bet I’ve probably gone off track by my own doing more from 1st position than any other.

@sturk0167 @Sven Jurgens I’m down for so Tokyo, just got home from work. Be on in 15 minutes or so, you guys still in the 90-99 range? :)

@sturk0167 Doh just missed that one, Suzuka lasted till 6:53. I'll check out the 7:10 one, dirty hour Tokyo, should be fun. Or do I need to lower my SR quickly at race A

I'm at 99 currently, could be at 70 after a Tokyo race at 7 pm

Room loading, one with hardhitter in it. Dunno what you guys are named lol.
