I've never used the countersteer assist. The only thing I've ever used is ABS and TCS, was told to turn everything else off when I first started so forgot about it.
Yeah, as far as I know people use it to get away with being mad early on the power and kinda full send mode. I don't think its the root of my problem though. I think my shifting is absolutely all over the place and all my turn in points are absolute ass.

I reckon the other driver deliberately went off the track to generate the penalty, I can't see any other reason for driving the way he did after the first contact.

Yes, it looks deliberate, he does nothing to correct his course and actually looks like he steers a bit more into the wall. The game doesn't do anything to figure out whether you drive yourself off or get bumped off. As soon as there is contact you are at the mercy of the other player :/

It can be as bad as you receiving a small bump from behind in the braking zone, then the car that bumped you gets punted off by a dive bomb coming in from further back. You get the penalty since you made first contact with a car that went off and the dive bomber goes free. It used to be that who makes contact last (and stays on the road) got the penalty. However that led to people playing billiards. As long as you punted one car into another car you got away with it.

The contact first rule does work in cases where someone brake checks (or hits a wall) getting the car behind in trouble who then gets punted off by the unsuspecting third not prepared for the sudden stalled car in front of him.

Clean laps seem unattainable. Refuse to turn countersteer assist on.

You couldn't turn CSA on even if you wanted to.

Clean laps at Fuji are a ballache. I was .450 up on my 31.132. Lost it all, and more going into turn 15. Brake slightly too late, and hard, that ruined my line, and flow there, and through Panasonic.

I can't give tips for pad users but in general for people struggling with the GR2 cars don't use the Honda, it has always been trickier to drive than the other cars and whilst it is faster over one lap it is only by a couple of tenths at most anyway. Use either of the other two newer cars. ;)

1.35.728 Is my lap. Fair to say I have a ways to go. I belong in D rank : )

i have strayed away from the Lexus that I used for the GT league races as it is very happy at the back end, but since im clearly not doing better with the honda i may as well try. Lack the 800k for the GTR which seems to be the go to.

Yes I use the Nissan but I've seen people use the Lexus very well over the race distance with good pace around what I can do in the Nissan, unsurprisingly they are pretty well balanced. The older cars are just slow though, no point in using them unless you like a real challenge. ;)

As a Toyota boi, the Lexus is the obvious choice. I had a dude start behind me in the older NSX, salutes to that boy. Should I try to tidy up and run 0 TC again? Or is it a forgivable sin to have a squidge on in this class? apologies for the prior double post, brain fart.

Speaking of the GTR, I may have to give that a run tonight. I've never raced it before. I've only ever raced the two Lexus'.

Lexus'? Lexi? Whatever the plural is for posh Toyota, anyways.

The old SC430 was fun racing from the back against SR D/C/B. Doesn't work as well as people get more consistent in SR:A/S.

0 is ultimately faster but only if you can control the car, if TC makes you faster use it, when it does not turn it off. ;)

Quick couple of laps in the Lexus has me down to 1.34.712, certainly a lot more comfortable of a drive, couldn't quite keep it clean with TC off, mostly due to t1 and the whole last section. Will probably chuck another race in later and see how she goes. Scared of what will happen with the tire wear though.

It just looked like he was on the marbles, was gathering up the car and the other 4C rammed him, went off, hit the wall back on track and bumped him off into the wall. He didn't turn in early.

He's not turning out and he's not driving parallel to the apex... he's turning in where there is physically a car. Even if the other car pulled side by side, OP would have hit him. The way it went, OP was turning in and the overtaking car was sweeping out for the exit. Like I said, racing incident.

I feel like an idiot. I never realized how fast motion control was going to full lock until I was messing with cockpit view. Was leading me to way over driving that I thought was understeer, Knocked like 0.4-.5 seconds off my race A time in 7 laps. Now I am in 1st-3rd position when I get punted on turn 1 instead of 3rd-6th

Ha ha. I've heard of that, but never had it. They brew Sierra Nevada about a mile away from me, so I drink a fair amount of that.

I drink a fair bit of Sierra Nevada as well. I was down there last August and went to 6 different places to buy Pliny and was laughed at at each one. Apparently you have to be there right when its delivered as it is sold out minutes after. I did get their Golden Ale though, and it did not disappoint. One day I will have it, somehow, someway.

I just spent 4 1/2 hours driving a golf cart with no assists at all, and never it spun out. 👍 I did run into the back of my buddy's cart once, but it was 100% on purpose.

How was golf?? I think I’m finally getting out Sunday with a Buddy for the first time this season, I can’t friggen wait. It’s gonna be mega fugly though!!

Took my second run at race C, with the Lexus. Qualified 14th and thought i was in for much of the same, until the line of GTRs and Hondas ahead started their synchronised squiggling, I was able to savagely lunge through on a few corners, and then spent the first stint battling for 8th and making up for my lack of pace with nice controlled driving to keep myself on the slipstream. Decided to pit end of lap 7 to deal with the worst of the wear in the middle of the race.

took a punt out of the last turn though, followed by an outright pit attempt. Lucky I was aiming for the pit as I doubt I could have kept it on the straigut. Sanpatsu drifted into the pits, losing a lot of time, and came out in 13th. The rest of the race caused some SR down, some really aggressive guys and a lot of pushing wide. Kept my elbows out and finished in 10th after a thrilling last lap against the NSX. I like race C now. DR: D and 3 quarters, was under half this morning. Thanks for the tips guys.

Not bad. I played a full round for the first time in over a year, and had 53/48 (101). I'm not that good, but had a few really nice shots, which are what keeps me coming back. 👍 I probably had about 40-45 putts. :(

Well done!! Absolutely nothing wrong with a 101  I’ll be lucky to beat that Sunday...over 9 holes.

A well struck golf ball is a hard feeling to top though, and it only takes one to keep you coming back. :)

You play LH or RH? I’m a Lefty.

My dang cat just decided to stand in front of the tv during lap 1! C'mon, Son!

My cat did that once and the language coming out of me would have made a docker say ‘now now son, that’s a bit much’ but I swear he waited til I’d almost caught it on the grass before hitting a wall before he slowly ambled away, completely untroubled as I rage quit! The other one likes to get in around the pedals but at least the spare clutch foot (I’m a right foot braker) can be used to ‘encourage an alternative sitting position’!
