Here's me and a few others driving like crap on lap 1. Mistakes made by all. At least racing from the back isn't boring. This looks pretty bad, but it's entertaining to see how amateurish it looks. Turn 2 really made me look like an idiot. And at turn 4, I forgot my tires had grass on em.

Mystery SR downs at 1:23 and 1:36. There doesn't seem to be any good reason for them. No SR loss at turn 2, where I deserved to get one. :boggled:

I think I will use the WRX Gr. 3 again on Brands Hatch. I had my fastest time in this car in Monza, really, I am so much faster in turns than with the Mustang, so in Qualifying there is no problem with the slow pace on the straight.
Which car the aliens are driving on Brands Hatch?

A simple way too would be to delete their car. Imagine loosing your car after every race.

I'm all for punishing dirty drivers but this sounds like taking it a bridge too far. You'll still have those situations where people have been wrongly given penalties (one of those situations being a car losing control in the middle of the track, you're unable avoid them in time, make contact and you're given the penalty if they go off which has happened to me on a number of occasions) or SR downs for situations out of their control (welcome to Monza last week).

Imagine a 1 million Gr.1 car taken away from you because of that. It doesn't seem like the right way to go about it, I think. Also, Race A would be completely exempt from your idea since it's a specially provided car.

Tried Race B, didn't qualify and surprised i was the only player that didn't set up a time as the others already did. Started last.

T1 seemed quite clean, 1 went off track after that and later traffic fight chaos, luckily this happened

And shoutout to that M3 driver, guts to use that car in Brands Hatch,

Is Race C the Red Bull Standard? Oh boy....if so, I'm licking my chops waiting for the chance to race this week! The last time we had the big boy Red Bull I finished the week with a top ten time....which is out of character for me to say the least, lol.

well then.....sad face :(

the RBJ is actually more difficult to drive than the standard in my opinion, so maybe I should call that one the big boy red bull :scared:
I tried to drive the RB Jr. at Suzuka in Time Trial mode this morning, without aids. Total nightmare. That thing hated to be on the track. All it wanted to do was go to the grass and the sand. Turned CSA on, and it was much better. For me, it needs the CSA more than anything I've driven. Even more than the Shelby GT350, which is really saying something. It probably won't matter for you, but I'm new at this no driving aids thing.

The RBJ is a glorified go-kart. It needs to be driven like one. Think Mario Kart...

Just attempted Race A for the first time. As expecting, many people forgetting that you cannot drive these cars like you do RWD as evidenced by several going right off In Turn 1 (Including one Renault barely missing my rear Bumper). These are cars that pull you out of corners, not push you out. Pretty fun, qualified 4th and wow does the Audi just go on the start. Felt like I was in the 2004 World Challenge race with one of the Audi S4 Quattros. Yet another clean race not full of morons divebombing into 1, although I suspect Understeer has a pretty good way of punishing that sort of driving.

@Famine I was thinking that since the aids (CSA + ASM) are now either prohibited or allowed on a race by race/case by case basis, that maybe this would be useful information to include in the weekly news post about the events.

For instance this week they are disabled for race A but allowed in Race B and C. :gtplanet:

Did a few laps of QTT. I managed a 1.28.200. I'm really not sure how much further I can take it. I lose time at Surtees that's for sure and I'm a bit timid through Dingle Dell/Sheene's. But I just feel on the limit already. Not for me. Knew it wouldn't be. Race A it is.

Tried a few sorties in all four just to get a feel and confirm what I already knew but was a little surprised by the results.

VDub - 57.5xx
TT - 57.1xx
RCZ - 56.7xx
Megane - 56.2xx

I know there's more to get from the Megane too. Just need to find the right line and nail the second hairpin.

Into a race then, P4. Good launch off the line to be up ahead and inside P2. P3 was half a car length behind but up the inside of me so we're 3 abreast through T1. P2 realises there's no room for him and bails. P3 on my inside just keeps squeezing me. I guess I should also have decided that discretion was the better part of valour and let him go. He nerfed me onto the grass and backwards we went.

He didn't need to be that wide. But after watching the replay I don't think it was deliberate. He was in the TT and I think he got on the power and just understeered me off.

I still thanked him for it afterwards, mind. But considering I made a few mistakes by myself and recovered up to P6 by the flag I was nicer than I might have been...

Autopolis has potential this week.

After a hard fought 4th in the first race, I attempted it again. Somehow in a sea of Sciroccos and a few Renaults, managed a 2nd (Part of an Audi 1-2) after trying to chase down a Brazilian. Most of my gain seems to be in the final sections, where I sorta float the car though some corners with minimal throttle input and seem to get good runs on everyone else.

It seems that the Red Bull JR is starting to feel good, infact had to take it to little spin again.

2:01.168
Last chicane cost me 3/10s So will put this beast to 2:00.xx tomorrow. BB 0 no aids on. It's all about the steering, if you struggle with this car.
Look the replay, how little steering input is needed. Smooth steering, throttle can be used more freely.

Just two attempts on Autopolis sent me down to SR B. It was just the regular minor door rubbing, no serious incidents or even penalties.

More interesting is, that I had one race on Brands (one of my nemesis-tracks) in the Hyundai and was competetive and nearly clean (grey B).

I‘ll see what I do about C.

Just got home from work, what’s the best race to start at, A? Did I read somewhere that B and C have CSA allowed this week?

There's no mystery. The inside car is always right unless the other goes off. Hence in T2 no penalty, and SR Down for you at 1:36 since you kept a wheel inside track limits. At 1:23 you touch the car ahead where it's still considered corner, which is the only time the car behind gets SR Down. It takes a while to pop up since the game waits for the other car to go off or not.

It was a lot more behaved early morning, I better skip racing for now

That Red Bull junior is everything I did not expect, slow and not fun to drive. I expected something more like a Formula Car..

In other news a victory (at 11 now) at Brands Hatch.. Something went wrong and the game matched my piss poor Q lap at P3. 2 fastest went off and I had a battle with a Saint of a clean driver..

Still confused and dazzled, up next victory number 12 out of a million races.. In 2020 or 2021

Lap 2 of Race A, went from 2nd to 10th because some French TT decided to shove me off. I got an SR down for it. Utter farce.

CSA isn’t normally allowed in daily races anymore?

No, for one (actually maybe two) week/s it wasn't allowed in every race. Since then it (and ASM) has been allowed in some races but not others. This week it (and ASM) are not allowed in race A, likely because it's FF cars and ASM makes them faster. It is allowed (for whatever reason) in Race B but it won't make any cars faster here. Race C is the odd one here because there is a chance that CSA will make the Red Bull Jr faster so you'd think they'd disable it but maybe they decided most drivers will need it with this car, who knows.

So, FF at the never ending turn that is Autopolis, is a serious exercise in throttle control, damm! This is gonna be a funstrating week.

I’m down to a 1:53.2 to far in the TT, BB+3 seems to work best. :)

Scirocco is up next. :)
