thats it. any yellow bar connection is now getting 0 respect from me. not only do they lag and jitter all over the goddamn track but then they pull some garbage move. im done with these guys man. no mercy going forward. look at the leaderboard. get these wal mart connections out of my lobby. its far more annoying than the penalty system. this guy says sorry after the race. yeh bull **** dude you didn't even need to move behind me let alone bash me out of the way and then nudge me twice exiting the last turn trying to block or lag who knows. almost every time this week one of these idiots is negatively affecting my race.

Are you aware that connection quality can change from race to race and even mid race?

Good. Ran a 2:11.9xx last night in the Genesis at Bathurst. My optimum was like 2:11.6xx. I'm sure that'll be about a second off the top times but it felt good. Requires some patience in a couple corners though.

Spent most of my day off at Dragon Trails as I have barely played this week. Started off great in the AMG with a fair few top 5 finishes and plenty of clean races - I think I've nailed it!!!
Then I hit SR S.
The dirtiest race in weeks. Dive bombed on multiple corners, brake checked and outright rammed off the track. SR S lasted one race. The times of the first few drivers are similar in the SR S and SR B rooms I've been in, but SR B is so much more fun.
On the plus side Bathhurst next week - should destroy my SR whatever room I'm in - possibly my favourite track

That will be a Huracan race for me.

Just did a little trolling at race C, and put a "Trump 2020" decal on my rear bumper. Biggest single race SR loss of the week. :lol:

Have really enjoyed racing at Goodwood this week. My choice of car has been the NSX mainly for how good it is on fuel, lacks some speed on the straights but its great through the corners. Have no stopped every race and managed 10 wins so far, best race time of 19:21

The TT for me has worked the best of the few times I ran the race. Didn't even have to change my tires.

I just tried a few Group 2 Laps on Alsace II.

Well, bumpy track, tight twisty turns (most of them cambered) combined with zillions of Newtons of torque... - there‘s no weather in GTS but this is racing on ice.

By the same time of day in seven days we will all be down to E/E.

I‘ll wait which setup PD is going to provide but I think I‘ll skip Sportsmode entirely next week.

Again, this is going to be a very interesting combo. But it could very well be a disaster. I remember last summer they did GRP 4 racing at Alscace II and it was fantastic. GRP 2? I don't know. It could be similar to GRP 1 racing at Tsukuba. Although I probably shouldn't give PD any ideas.

That's what i forgot to mention about the RC F. That thing wags the tail out of the chicane! Had to tip toe on entry, but was still having a snap oversteer on exit. Not even much throttle input.

Going to try the Megane again and first time with the Scirocco at GW. Deciding if I'll start a new game and switch to VW or Renault for the FIA races. The Gr.4 events are at Interlagos, Kyoto, St.Croix and another fast track. It'll suit those two FF cars over my current Atenza. Not too worried about Gr.3 in either the RS01 or Golf(did the Sheepeople Beetle once before).

I did some qualifying runs with the RC F and absolutely hated it on Good Wind.

I've been arguing this for months. Races would get clean really quickly in my opinion.
 
The thing about SrS is that it's easy to gain and lose it.
And i speak as someone who rarely dropped to SrA (mostly due to me being tilted as well) .
 
Another couple of solid Goodwood races. Started the first one 9th and had a relatively trouble-free start while ending up in a train of cars battling for 2nd. On Lap 2, Momoz91 moved into my path after being ghosted, and unghosted just after the Porsche in front of me passed through him. Ended up smashing into his rear bumper as a result - in turn causing a white Ferrari to hit my rear and veer off the track - but somehow managed to escape any penalties. Enjoyed a few great battles while again performing a one-stop strategy, and put in consistent pace throughout to eventually come home in 6th.

Second race (my 400th in Sport Mode) saw me starting 12th, although the typical midfield carnage, penalties and a bump-draft from a trailing Porsche resulted in me moving up to 7th by the end of the second lap. On Lap 6, the Lambo in front of me runs wide and loses pace through St. Mary's, forcing me to back out and lose a sizable gap to the red Ferrari behind me. Said Ferrari had excellent pace during the middle part of the race, even after pitstops, where I managed to jump ahead of him due to my extensive fuel-saving techniques. He had an especially good run on me on Lavant Straight on Lap 11, but unfortunately I had not anticipated that he was going to pass me around the outside as we neared Woodcote. The red Ferrari ended up bump-drafting and pushing me out wide at Woodcote, receiving a 3-second penalty for the latter. I realised at that point that it would have been better if I had not attempted to move to the outside while the red Ferrari tried to pass. So, I apologised to him after the race, to which he seemed okay with me about it.

Despite that scuffle, I kept going, finishing the race 9th overall.

Had a lot of fun round Goodwood this week, and am especially pleased with the consistency I managed to achieve in both of today's races. Set frequent lap times in the 1:16 range even while fuel-saving, while the BMW continues to satisfy me with its stability and straight-line speed. I wonder if anyone has tried putting it through a no-stopper?

Yes. Watching it go from yellow to red and back again is exciting. Are they gonna jitter into me? Are they gonna do the super lag move where they swerve from wall to wall? It helps them block at times too because when you jitter a foot to each side that might be the space somebody needed to pass but the lag can turn a regular move into a risky move. I have only ever had a red bar twice. Both times i shut off my computer wifi during warm up and it was full green when the race started. I raced a guy a more than a few times this week who is red bar 75% of the race and green the rest if it. Seems like when a car is close he red bars. It is mostly brazil connections honestly. Get them their own servers or something if alot of them cant connect to NA properly. Im not even blaming them. Its PDs job to have good matchmaking and i dont know why my lobbies are full of yellow bar brazilians when im a green bar canadian.

I'm just fired up this week. Too much ramming at seaside. That video doesnt make me look good at all but i promise you i race better than that most of the time.

What time of day did you run it at? That will be the biggest factor, I typically use a mid day time if possible as I figure it will have the warmest temp for max traction, it of Pd chooses a different time for the race the lap times can vary slightly.

On another note, seeing as PD doesn’t give us temps for the different times of day, has anyone tried using the Audi R8 road car at different times of day to see if the thermometer on the dash actually changes to show the different temps at the different times of day available? It could be a useful tool if it works.

Was like mid-afternoon.
 
Did 2 Race C tonight. First one I went from 17th to 8th, pretty respectable, had a very frustrating race with the 458 that came 7th, which kept essentially parking in corners to try to block me from passing, the laps were 4-6s slower than a normal one chasing someone and eliminated the giant lead we both had over 9th. Miraculously despite this ridiculous blocking, they had a blue S at the end. Weird.
Second one, started 17th again, carnage throughout the first lap but somehow came out of it in 4th, until an Atenza decided instead of passing me to dive back behind me to shove me on a corner. Still, ended up crawling into 1st during the pit window, at which point it went to ****. A Huracan got stuck in the pits, and my PS4 was too hot which was cutting the connection to the TV, so had to keep pausing every time it cut. Fell down to 5th through this because it was nigh on impossible to drive with the visual cutting out, and the AI takeover drives like it's a school zone. Crossed the line clearly 5th with big gaps up to 4th (4C) and back to 6th (M4), but on the magical results screen I came 6th. The Huracan that got stuck bouncing in the pits came 5th, apparently. Oh well, a 9 place gain is still respectable, but without all the tech trouble I guess I'd have come 2nd or 3rd.
Looks like I'll be doing max 1 race a day until summer is over, since that's all the PS4 can handle. Even with the windows open, a fan pointing at it, etc, the heat outlet is in the same place as the HDMI port for the TV, so it cooks the plug part and kills the connection. Utter farce.
 
Done some more qualifier laps in multiple cars at Goodwood as it is growing on me as a really good track and a Great addition to the game 👍 I'm not nearly on the pace of the elites around here but with another 5 weeks track time I might be able to go sub 1'14 :lol:

I found the M4 the easiest car to drive consistent smooth laps with and by far the easiest car of the whole group to drive into that turn 1 :scared:👍
The RCF was fast and felt like it had even more in the higher gears but was difficult to find consistency for turn 1 and the final chicane .. The 86 is great all round but I just cant find speed through the final chicane and always lose what seems like half a sec there doh!! :p
Tried the 4C and that is my personal most hated car in the group! It never let me down.. it is just crazy twitchy and I'd much rather put an engine on a shopping trolley and try that over this thing again 👍 I have tried more than half of the Gr.4 cars some not worth mentioning! but the M4 is the one I enjoy the most just for how simple it is to drive :cheers:

I don't like to use the mid-day setting, the lighting is weird and throws all the colors off. So I usually go morning or mid to late afternoon.

after doing goodwood morning/sunset i joined a mid day lobby and it looked soo bland in comparison.
 
I wonder if qualifying is with less fuel? Might explain the discrepancy. 2nd stint with half fuel and fresh tires get closer to quali speed.
 
you guys are why i tried online racing. My plan was single player with no intention of anything internet related. I came from GT4, and decided to get back. i was surprised that some of my favorite tracks were not here (hopefully one day); Monaco and Laguna Seca.

Keep up the good work, regulars and other contributors. This game is an awesome way to stay sane, as possible at least. and you guys are adding to the fun and learning how to "get gud".

This weeks dailys for me has been limited to Race A, i did not have the time to learn the other tracks, so i passed. i play in the mid to late evening, Race A appears relatively unpopular lately.

It seems to be a moo point anyhow, the R8 and Lamborghini both read 15*C at all times of day and all tracks I’ve tested so far. So I’m guessing it doesn’t really work, that would have been too easy. And yes, I meant Moo Point. :lol:

Goodwood so: Started on 7th and very excellent idiots on tracks, so I began the second lap on P20. Don't give up, fastest lap, being back on P8 in the end and the 6th and 7th were my next victims in the case the race is one or two lops longer.
 
And Goodwood is back to being a circus right now. Had multiple guys intentionally pushing people off track. I got pushed off in St Mary’s spun back on taking him with me. I get the 5sec he gets 2......the. A few more and I rage quit. It’s one thing to try and come back through the field with clean drivers, but I’m not going to waste my time with idiots playing demolition derby.

We need a system to like/dislike drivers post race and include the lap # of the incident. Enough dislikes triggers a review which results in demotion to D/D where you stay until you receive enough likes/results to show you’ve learned your lesson. It could even be something the community helps with.

That or full damage....or both

Just talking about real life. I guess the game doesn't exactly adhere to the laws of physics.
 
Optimal down to a .205 now, I just need to get to the last corner within .05 of my current lap and I can do it. On lap 33 now. :lol:
 
Two races against RF7_GTRacing who is quite quick despite fuel trim. Dunno what trim he’s running but he’s getting the RC to the end and I was only putting 3-5sec on him in the first stint both times only to lose by 8-11sec. Curious to try it out.

His overall time is 19:21-23 on average. Which is equal to my best times. But I feel he isn’t having to drive quite as hard. Might have to rethink my strategy. My only hope is for him to get tied up in traffic or make a mistake. Traffic hands me the win but if he’s in clean air it’s going to be hard to beat him.

I tried to stop for fuel only, in a race yesterday. Turned out to be a pretty stupid idea. Might as well get new tires if your're stopping anyway. Won't do that again. I think I was on beer # 6 or 7.

Also, somehow my SR this morning is at 43. There's only 1 guy that I remember hitting on purpose. It must have been from quitting a few races.

Daily goal: Win all three races at least once. I don't think I've ever done that, because usually there's one weekly race that I won't touch. (win total, this week is at 0)

I've settled on my bike instead. I just got back from Hamilton, awesome day today. 82 km route with a nice climb after a long slope down on the railway trail. Perfect weather today, 26c, no clouds, light breeze. Then jump straight in the pool when I got back.

I've driven the Ferrari, Citroen and TT Cup next to the Huracan for race C. Citroen is good for no stop but not as good as the Huracan at full power. Ferrari comes close but is more easily upset when avoiding people. TT Cup just sucks, no fast out since it won't steer under acceleration. I haven't been doing a lot of races since the weather finally turned, plus I don't have many liveries for GR.4. I need to fix that for Bathurst next week.

15 laps at Goodwood is not that enticing to try all cars for, too much chaos all the time. I'm only on clean race bonus 3 or maybe 4 since the start of the week. And yup when you stop, change tires. No point not to. Fuel saving also saves tires since you don't go as fast. I tried not changing tires in the Huracan and simply got bumped off in the last 2 laps since I had to go a bit slower through the corners. If people would actually put some effort into overtaking it could be worth it, usually it's just a recipe for getting hit from behind.

I've never won all three races, not even in a week. I always focus on one race, rarely two. I only touch race A under extreme circumstances, B and C must really suck for the week, like Fuji GR.2 and Suzuka GR.4. Then still only when it's not half a track. Suzuka East, I have done 12 races on that, 11 too many! My most raced circuit is Mount Panorama at 706 races, I'll be adding to that next week :)
 
Well I'm done for today. After the big fall with last weekend on 13.000 DR points I am on my way back for trying to reach DR A. Today I had 7 races and I am back at 19.000 DR. Started at 8 pm with nearly 16.000.
Hope tomorrow I will have some time for the 20.000 mark. Small aims, big motivation.
 
Nearly lost last race when I got a tank slapper after the chicane on lap 8. I was completely sideways with little hope of saving so I pointed it at the pit lane and hoped to make it. I did :lol: put a lap early and dropped into traffic but quickly got past.
