Fuji....

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Is it possible that we could get at least a single week or two without Suzuka or Fuji? Fuji encourages bad driving IMHO. What happened to St. Croix and it's many iterations?

I think PD is being far too rigid in trying to get people to race within a given time window and/or too rigid on what cars can be in Race A.

When i try to sleep at night all i see is the suzuka and fuji logo, then i wake up on monday to see Suzuka or Fuji. If i ever won the lottery am making Ground Hog Day 2: GT Sport Weekly Sedatives prescription edition LOL

So far 2 races at Mount Panorama, first race i got a Vettel Penalty because someone touched me from behind and then hit the wall. Second race was also fun, lost the rear with to much throttle in the first corner.. but since i am doing a SvenJ i make up places during this short race.

But i agree, with a short race, slow cars on this narrow track, if you want to place high, you need to put in the Q lap and then be as fast over 3 laps in the race..

It's too short, I have time to work on a livery in between races. I'm going for all cars clean race bonus again this week and recording my best lap in each. That's not going to tell much though with 3 laps. The chance of a clear lap is pretty slim in such a short race. So far I've always been stuck behind another car on the mountain.

Racing is pretty good so far on the mountain. People are still careful, a bit too much maybe, watch out for early brakers and people braking in stages. Clean bonus achieved in the BMW M4 and Citroen GT, best finish of 7th, no time to gain more places. It's good to be back on the mountain!

Ferrari is still a bit slippery on the downhill, I nicked a 1 sec 'shortcut' penalty somehow. Faster than the other two, but only because I had room to speed up after serving the 1 sec.

One of the problems with Fuji is people using different driving lines to one another. It's not fun to race on as well, IMO, especially in a slow car and one that's overused like the Toyota. You can also still drive off the track at Panasonic, rejoin and not be given a penalty for doing so.

St. Croix is like one of those beta stages which was tested a few times only to never return. A shame since it's a beautiful track.

It's that time of the week again, and all the drama, from Mount Panorama. I've started the week off, as is my custom at the mountain, with the Found On Rubbish Dumps Mustang. I like to get this one out of the way because a) I hope to hack off the Ford fans with the livery and b) driving it makes me feel I have soiled my soul and driving the other cars may cleanse me. Despite my sloppy time, 2s slower than optimal, I still started P7/16 on a mixed grid of DR/A-D with me as the fastest D.

Race starts with me on the exit to Murray's. Made it tricky to put the hammer down but it did give me a little breathing space all the way up to Griffins. I picked up a penalty at The Cutting, which i never did for the same wall contact during qualy. Penalties on the mountain where the zones are are deadly to your position. I dropped down places. I was doing really well staying behind a fellow Aussie all the way across the top of the mountain and down to Forest Elbow, despite there being many places where I could have pushed past... got the better exit out of Forest elbow and dragged him down Conrod. Things were going great till the kink. I was on the inside and slightly ahead. He turned in on me, came off, and I got a 3s penalty and a big flashing SR down :banghead:. That didn't help, and yeh.. 3 laps is about 27 too few . By the end I had caught up some places and lost again. I was right behind a fellow Aussie and in line for a pass through the Chase, buggered up Murray's and lost the position I'd just gained. Finished P9.

I lost 10 SR in the race from other people hitting me, so down to SR/A. DR went up a couple of hundred. Now I have to figure out what Gr4 cars I have my Bathurst livery for. I may have to do some more.. just have to find this option to mirror the sides . Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

Mr. Sparky in the Jag went for the dive bomb on me in a questionable place. I'm in the green Mustang, and he succeeded in knocking me into the outside wall. Only problem is that he ultimately ended up worse off, because 2 turns later, I "accidentally" braked just a tad too late. Oops. :mischievous: Idiot

RACE A a real track with 5 laps
RACE C 11 laps of a fictional track with SUPERGT cars, like it's an atari arcade game.

We need more options in sports mode. Polyphony please stop doing what you want arrogantly and give people what they want lol

Well, last time we had this combo, the Megane and TT were pretty strong. I don't think Gr.4 has had any BoP changes since Christmas (correct me if I'm wrong) so these two should still be great choices.

With the new grip model you gotta think the FF cars will understeer on exit even more and the slippery RWD cars may now be more controllable over the top on the two tricky exits (dipper and the elbow).

Hmmmmm.

There is a great alternative, the lancer evo, its 4wd, been in 4wd gt cars and it handles well, its a pleasure to race on panorama. Feels attached to the road and corners well.

Just to prove myself I tried Race C: Qualified for 12th with 1:48, finished 17th (18,19 and 20 quit prematurely) with 12s to 16th and 1:14 to 1st.

At least: 9 SR gained and back to 98. (Always think positive :dopey:)

Edit: Compared to Qualifying the track is very slippery and hard to control. I'm on DS4 and had to be really smooth with all controls. One milimeter too much push-movement, one degree too much stick tilt would lead to a slide. I never experienced any car that hard to control and even though I am not into Group 2 I cannot remember if these cars have ever been so hard to control.

Slow on straights.

First corner you got to throw the lancer in and pull ahead. I put replay up. Tag search "Lancer" "Panorama" "gr4" how i cruise race, one set pace and dont loose pace. Or click follow on my psn and view replay. Fastest qualifying time for lancer evo was 2.13.189. Just done audi tt at 2.12.782, no way am a racing ff, i panic and throw myself off the track incase i ruin someone elses race. You doing 2.17 a lap in evo, i hit 2.13.556s on average. Hope my replay helps you get better. Nice livery too, i just ran out of cigs lol. Now am tempted to go shop to buy more lol

Heres my qualy for race C. Weery slippery and braking markers need to be spot on. Missed those few times, but somehow too slippery for my taste.
Will try to improve later this week.

I got the clean bonus in the Ferrari on the 3rd try. Second attempt I hit a single blade of grass while braking for the chase, instant off. Do some cars have different tire threads that they can drive over the grass? Ferrari is like hitting a pinball bumper  The Citroen GT had the same problem when someone pushed me onto the edge in the braking zone for Griffin's bend. I understand you like to have more room, yet push a car under braking onto the grass and you're likely to be worse off.

Still so many liveries to make for GR.4, 3 cars cleared in 7 races on this tricky backfield track. And now the competition has heated up. Beat Sabre just released an Imagine Dragons music pack with 10 new songs! Just as I finally managed to get through the last song on expert yesterday. Beat Sabre is not all that different from racing. Both require you to get in 'the zone', stop thinking, it's more like meditation while letting your subconscious and muscle memory take over and do the work. At least for me, everything I think about what I need to do for the next corner, I screw up. Same as in Beat Sabre, just let your hands go as it's too fast to follow anyway lol.

Here is that song that took me so long to get through.

It's easier to follow in VR, not much though.

Hmm Bathurst or Imagine Dragons tonight.

Tyres will be the same but its most likely down to Diff sensitivity, that will vary car to car and then again depending on BOP. Combine that with any variable TCS setting you may or may not have on and you can have a car stick to it like glue or treat it like ice.

Just did Race B twice in the TT, which feels slow and cumbersome as hell on this track (but faster than the 458 in a straight line by far), can only quali in the 1'15s. Got a 0.5s penalty through the twisty downhill S bends on the last lap of race 2 which resulted in 1s at the line, but I really don't know why since I didn't touch the walls, kerbs or contact anyone else since I was alone...? Very odd, perhaps leftover from earlier in the lap? Both races involved weird defences from someone around 5th that held the entire back two thirds of the field up in the uphill narrow walled sections on lap 1, which was a bit stressful to deal with.
Been worried about trying Race A yet based on what you guys have said, and same for Race C - slippery Gr.2 trying to manage tyres on a track I've never really liked or managed to excel at doesn't sound super fun...

Good lap! 👍 Might want to turn off that music though, you may get flagged for copyright.
