I cannot get ANYWHERE near my Megane time in race b with other cars, it's ridiculous. I lose very little across the top and make up a ton from the top of Conrod to Turn 2.

Literally 1.5 seconds faster in race trim than anything else i have tried.

It's because the Megane rewards substandard driving and low-risk management.

Yes it's not new either, been like this a long time. At the Red Bull Ring it is also op and annoying because you can't gain enough on it in the middle of the lap to stop it flying past in the first sector and if they do get in front it's game over if they defend the inside in the slower corners.

At least half (likely more) of the Gr4 cars can't possibly beat this car if the drivers are the same skill level, both here and at RBR.

I noticed on b vet vs amg I prefer the vet.
The vet is more of a scalpel more precise, and seems to be better in dirty air? I dunno but definitely prefer the vet.
Race c switched to roof cam so I could see.
Cockpit cam much more difficult on Alsace b, can’t use it... but turning on the race line and cones and markers is a huge advantage on c race and I’d reccomend using the aids at all times for everyone b dr and below

So it seems my pedals don’t retract 100%. It always shows like 1% of brake usage even when I don’t use them. I’m guessing it’s full of pet hair on the inside and I need to clean it or the pedals are screwed.

Any G29 users here dealt with this before?

This week's race A has been catastrophic for my Fair Play rating... Even at 99 it was packed with rammers from the usual southern european countries completely uncapable of breaking at the first corner.

Also it seem that the penalty system has changed once more, as players pushing me out of the track got away with absolutely nothing, while I often got one even though I was clearly the victim.
I'll admit I have overreacted at least once and made sure one of these guys finished dead last.
As a result I'm now back to B rating, but my DR is well up now, over 20k points which is by far my highest level.

I had a similar problem last week. I wondered why I can reach a topspeed in some laps and in other laps more than 20 km/h slower.
My controller layed between my legs and so the controller brakes me out.
Maybe it is this case, or it is too much dust on it. I never had this problem.

Race B...Not worth to race for few points gain. Its may be good for beginner.

I just enjoy the racing there. I enjoy the risk of putting my points on the line and also trying to beat people.
It makes it fun and you learn stuff. I’m around 35 k and s sr.
It’s a real risk, but it’s fun to fight.

I don't understand why there are differences between the 86 and the BRZ.

If you go to buy one.. you pay more for the Subaru badge .

For those from across the pond, it's hard to understand. Bathurst is Australia's answer to fight club..... if you are an Australian, you *must* race :sly:.

Not that specific issue but I've taken the G29 pedals apart multiple times sorting out the brake spring. Do you know how to take them apart? If not the guide here explains it well.

I'm not at all technical and found it very easy. Just need the right sized hex key and screwdriver.

Also as @Schalkehelmi points out, the controller stays 'live' when using the wheel so it might be that applying the brakes.

Bathurst may be my favorite track in GTS. The layout is the least boring with nice elevation changes, it is very well rendered and racing is tough, with this incredible breaking point at the end of the last straight, where many cars are at their vmax.

Cough cough wheel cough

I seen this problem before. Its sometimes caused when people dont disconnect their ds4 controllers from the ps4 settings menu. I sat back and let someone race as their ds4 slipped and the r2 button was slightly depressed. As a sim racing game drivers should do pre checks before race start. I found it highly amusing and decided to have a coffee and cig while the other racer was confused of to why their brake was always on. Price of seeing them look at their pedals and use wd40 on them for the issue to still be present was nothing. I never spent so long sat down on the toilet laughing.

Mt. Pan was fun- with the 1.39 physics in play none of my standby rides were making me happy (C7, Atenza, GT-R...) tried the AMG and was pleasantly surprised. I've always been pretty quick UP the mountain, and the AMG is really stable through Skyline and the rest of the downhill twisties. My times are still way off in V1.39; hopefully I will get better. Still being gridded regularly in P6-10 with door #1- that's a bullseye I really don't need on my back at DR C/SR S...

What does the door number signify? I've been enjoying the Mégane (Gr.4) and got a good time, but was able to pip it with the TT. I just can't love the TT, and the sound comes across as really turbo-blowy.

Overall, just not feeling this week's races, so may drop off till next week. How come we haven't seen tracks like Sainte-Croix for ages, with effing Fuji, Suzuka, or Tsukuba popping up every week?

While I'm bitching, you know what I'd really like? To have some fun with the road car exotica in my garage! How about having a run out in the Veneno or F40 or Pagani for a change? Why are the Race A options always slow-ass pieces of junk?

I have tried the AMG and it feels really good, i can hustle it, get on the power well ... feel good .. then i cross the line annnnnd 2.15.5. Like what??? I grab the Megane, feels a touch more understeery on entry, way more understeer on exit, but it's predictable. I cross the line, 2.14.7 (qualied with a 14.2).

It's brutal.

Planning to get me a sub 2:01 lap at Fuji today. I like to do some warm up laps with the A/T to get my timing for brake points and turn ins down, before adding shifting into the mix. I inadvertently lowered my time down to 2:01.6. So, I guess the automatic isn't all that bad in the BRZ. It isn't ideal, but the shift points aren't really off by very much. I did some laps with the manual transmission against my automatic ghost, and gained a little, in a couple of places, but not as much as you'd think.

I'm sure my lowest time will end up being with the M/T, but I might try A/T in the race, because I'd rather not have to shift. Sometimes, like the Copen race at the East Inner Loop, you just won't be competitive if you don't use M/T. But I think I can win this race with an auto trans.👍 So many times, I've blown it because I got distracted by something that someone else was doing, forgot what gear I was in, and hit my shift button too many times. :banghead:

Update: Brake bias don't make much difference, if any at all, for this car. Some of the really fast people use +, while others use -. I couldn't figure out which worked best, so I left it at 0 and smoked my best time.

Yes, I've had this - took the pedal box apart, cleared all the muck out from the brake mechanism, and then squirted the mechanism with WD40.

Sorted the problem completely, and I couldn't believe how much faster I suddenly became!

Two days racing on the Mountain and beginning to move up towards DR C again.
I'm beginning to enjoy my brief sessions there before returning to my rightful home.

Been in races with lots of guys driving TTs and Meganes......all the while, in every race!!

I've done about sixteen races and used 10 cars...
WRX
Viper
Alfa
RCZ
Atenza
Toyota 86
Vantage
Lexus RC
TT Cup :O
Huracan

Then I watched :@:Pigems race in the Evo and went right out and bought one!

No improvement on my qualy of 2:17.6 but very stable and no offs!

2 races later and the upward surge has begun.

I know who won more points over these two days but I think I can say who had the most FUN!

WD40 is a life saver and its much better been seen buying wd40 than it is Vaseline . . . .
My wife once asked me why I put WD40 into the kitchen cabinet. I answered that in every household WD40 is as important as grain alcohol. Then she asked me to put it into my toolbox.

UNBELIEVABLE! Oh these women!

Edit: for moving parts being stressed with high weight and force I would suggest roller bearing grease. Just be careful and use only a small lump.

Is there any chance we will get new races on the weekend on La Sarthe with it being Le Mans weekend?

Last year when it was daily races still we got races on La Sarthe on Saturday and Sunday. Sadly now with the weekly races they forgot to make one at Le Mans or didn't care. Missed opportunity imo.

Both of Saturdays FIA races are at La Sarthe. Gr.3 in Manufacturers and Gr.1 in Nations.

It's funny isn't it - I sprayed something with WD40 when the kids were younger, my son said 'mmm - what's that lovely smell?', and my daughter said 'ugh - what's that horrible smell?'......

I'm starting to get a little frustrated with Race B. I use the TT and it's constantly a flood of Meganes qualifying at the front, I usually finish as the highest non-Megane, always in the race at some point a Megane will ram into the back of me when I brake at the right point for a corner.
Most frustrating though is that the TT behaves different in race vs qualifying. Steering becomes lazier, braking becomes a bit more slippery. I'm wondering if this is due to the online lag? I'm usually 5 bar, sometimes 4. It's a little worse than I've had this with other cars/races, and I'm struggling to adjust to it since the amount of laziness/slipperiness is different in each race.
Despite this, still the best of the week. Race C is a nightmare, and Race A I either finish poorly or near the front, with constant SR downs for the actions of others behind me since everyone uses a different line. I find the back section at the end of Fuji so easy to get throgh quickly, but others are always taking a weird line and hitting me.

Edit** I spoke too soon. Just did another Race B where I started 6th and I was put with C/S drivers (I'm B/S) and it was a nightmare. People braking randomly and pushing at every point, trying to force you into walls when alongside or behind. Went from Sr 98>83 mostly because a Megane braked on the middle of the uphill in a strange spot and I sailed into the back of them, meaning they hit the wall and got a 2s penalty for it. Other downs came from a TT sweeping in from the very outside of a corner into me, who was on the inside, and then that same TT later going off on the grass on the last corner while touching me on the way. Finished 7th. I seemed to have 'lucked out' paired with a bunch of people who could set a fast lap but are incapable of driving Bathurst with anyone else on the track. I only finished low due to the penalty and being stuck behind aggressively/overly-wildly defensive people parking in corners and being barriers - it was easy to be faster than them outside of this, none of them could do the correct lines through corners or brake in the right place. Absolute joke.

Edit 2** Same again. Started 10th, mix of D/S, C/S, B/S drivers. Some idiot in a TT tried to make it three-wide in the uphill on Lap 1 and he of course couldn't fit, I had nowhere to go and the one on the inside pushed me out, causing the one on the outside that had forced it's way in to hit the wall. I got the 2s penalty. Finished 9th, the one on the inside who pushed came 5th. My SR 83>72 based on literally that one unfair penalty. LIVID.
