Finally! 3 races in a row I had a good start and then went off at The Chase, due to a TT braking and then turning at 90 degree angles, instead of flowing into the corner. I also took myself out in the third race by hitting the curb at Skyline which unsettled me into the kitty litter. Finished 12th each race.

Qualified again and went from 13.7 to 12.9. Got me two spots avbove the TT in the next race. Smooth and easy behind faster players. Finished where I started in 7th.

There is something about the penalty system, a side effect that really shows itself on the Mountain. If you race hard and take chances trying to pass people, there is a greater risk involved since a slight push might result in a penalty that is very costly. In my experience that explains some of the (for me) surprising number of clean races and the lack of "stupid moves" at place where you cannot pass. So far i have gotten one "touch" penalty for pushing someone that made a mistake.

We still have dirty drivers and their evil brothers.. the dirty bastards, this guy got a big penalty, so big that i was coming from WAY behind, notice how he just pulls to the racing line when his penalty is about to run out.. he earned a YT link so everyone can see..

The whole race was great:

From 9th to 4th.. and had a great fight with Connors 75, who made a bold awesome crazy move to pass me on the top of the mountain.. kudos!

Move is at 5:55 i am losing momentum and he is just to fast..

I'm hoping the NSX will fair better at Suzuka, next week. It's nicely balanced, doesn't seem to do anything badly. Just doesn't seem to excel anywhere.

Which should suit Suzuka pretty well.

Besides, going by the sim argument

It was sarcasm so there was/I had no argument about it. Maybe I should start placing "/s" on the end of my posts...

But it's still a game regardless.

I know and said it was. I was merely suggesting it can be more than that to people. One example is professional players attending GT Championships and events, it's more than "just a game" to them.

if the expectation of unruly retribution by a medieval Islamic maxim such as "eye for an eye" is your idea of racing

Kind of weird conclusion to draw about me but no, you're wrong, that's definitely not my idea of racing.

Managed to do a 30min practice stint this morning in Race A... I don't like the new update, the 86 understeer's more so I don't feel confident in carrying corner speed :nervous:

Second C race, finished 9th with clean race bonus. Only 5 made it to the finish in time, winner had 26 sec lead. 5 quit, all blue SR again despite a lot of ramming in the first bit, only 2 red dots. Are the penalties turned off for race C? Wide track syndrome I suppose. +16 SR this time, no more SR boost. SR 77 so next one should put me at 93.

Luckily I haven't driven this track in a year so it doesn't feel too much like punishment lol. It's still a boring track even in GR.2, too wide.

3rd race, 11th place with clean race bonus. I'm getting much faster but finish lower and lower. Matchmaking... DR went up in SR.C now going down again. I got timed out right before the line this time. The winner won with 16 sec lead. My best lap is down to 1:47.6 and I actually got to overtake someone that wasn't in a barrier or serving a penalty :) SR to 93 as predicted. This one had 2 red ratings and 5 red dots. One more then before dinner, try Bathurst again after.

Clean streak at 4 now, back to 99 SR with a 9th place finish (in time) and a nice battle with another player for about a lap. The winner won with 3.9 sec gap, some actual racing going on at the front. 2 neutral ratings, 5 red dots, 5 quit, didn't beat my best lap from the previous race but was overall faster again.

Race B, hard to get clean race bonus, easy to drop 20 SR in one race.
Race C, easy to get clean bonus, hard to get a penalty apparently, too wide.

I just tried out my new connection speeds. Whole download of gt sport including scapes and bonus content took under a hour and playing for daily race. Under a hour for 80plus gb, thats fast and it was a free upgrade lol. I love my internet supplier as they also gave me free tv channels for no extra cost. Then i rang up the automated payline and it was like sport mode daily races.

Enter the amount you wish to pay, ok so thats . . . Press . . . To confirm. Ok so to make sure its correct please press . . . Enter your card details. Ok please confirm. Ok so just to confirm LOL

Daily Race comparisson

Overtake, no overtake, overtake.

Brake, brake, are you sure?

Qualifying time, just one more, hour later just to confirm thats . . . Lol kept me amused whilst confirming what i already confirmed to confirm that i confirmed what i confirmed. Noq my overtaking will be not hesitant and sr loss but more like brake, confirm, confirm again, overtake, confirm and confirm again, rammed doh lol

Penalties are either wrong or don't work. It started decent this morning, was 'allowed' to get 2 more clean races after Alsace yesterday, then the Argentinian Megane / Mustang gang came in to put a stop to clean racing. Last race I got punted off at the chase, no penalty for the Veyron that did not brake. Then last lap a Mustang barge passes me into the wall right before Forest Elbow, again no penalty. He did leave with a red A though.

I don't get it, car bumps me from behind and goes off or taps a wall is penalty for me. A car punts me off or rams me into the wall, no penalty for him  At least my SR is still at 99, no unfair penalty yet today. I'm starting 7th now with my quali time and would have finished 4th is it wasn't for the punt, 6th will do.

Bathurst needs wall penalties, so many cars just scrape and bump along the walls in the mountain section which you can't pass since they bounce back over to the other side. It's not pinball! Sparks everywhere. Races are mostly clean, yet one bad apple messes it up every race. One race without any red dots and all blue ratings in SR.S, is that so much to ask?

I can always go back to practicing on the N24. I did a trial run in the R92CP last night, 1 hour endurance, getting used to the very early braking points that car needs. Stock it goes up to 370kph, nice speed. @Mistah_MCA Btw can you not set tire wear to 4x in a custom race? It maxed out at 3 against a full grid of pro AI. Which are still slow btw. I did one stop on hard tires, was 12 sec ahead at the end while messing up plenty in the first few laps falling back to last a few times. Better to do another run to make sure I don't fall back into my GR.3 brake points.

And there it is, first unfair penalty of the day. F-Type swerves in front of my while braking in the braking zone for the last corner in lap 2. That causes a big pinball effect since it was 5 cars, 2 wide going into the corner and I end up with the penalty for his driving. Then he causes more chaos next lap and gets away with blue S and no penalties... It's so obvious to a human steward yet the game doesn't care about reckless driving. -9 SR from that clown. I might have to stop soon, don't want to do a bunch of penance races again on Alsnorece II

Yeah, they’re not as bad as they were before but they do still get you sometimes. :)

That looked pretty stylish to me, well done. 👍 There should be some kind of achievement for an air/cone jump or more challenges involving cones like the one in Mission Challenge.

Yeah, that's marketing ;). GT is a simcade, always been (that's why I play it!). But it's still a game regardless.

Besides, going by the sim argument: if the expectation of unruly retribution by a medieval Islamic maxim such as "eye for an eye" is your idea of racing, then brother, I don't want to be racing you in the first place.
Islamic??? It's in the Old Testament.

Server's down again ?? I've been working more than an hour on a livery and don't have access to collection of stickers anymore and can't save the livery ! Any tips on how to save it ? :boggled::nervous:

Been racing in a pretty quick ‘S’ lobby on Alsace and it’s been a pleasure (mostly). Firm but fair bunch. Even had a driver put me out of shape through the last turn on to the straight and he gave the position back to me. No door banging, no dive bombing, no weaving I thought I was in racing heaven. Thanks dude, wish I had got your tag to thank you in person.

Thats why i prefer b rank and sr s, most will pull over and give you your place back or if your racing a car thats slow on the straights they usually drive up right behind you and give you a push, mostly because they slipstream and save fuel lol

I put it down to hackers and cheats. If you remember when gt sport was first released they caught out the hackers and banned them. Problem with that is as usual as these types of people work in order, as proved by ncis and csi and bull. They move, and do it again but differently, they have the same objective, to win and look good or they change isp make new accounts and repeat. This week i got penaltys for lines i took all week and lost my temper then someone came off track cut the corner, won and got no penalty. No lag can by conincidence can cause that. Then theres masses of ss rank drivers when there tecniqually shouldnt be as many plus awarding it to the top ten is far to easy and far to kind. They need to do ss to the top three, see how long it takes people to wreck havoc or cheat. I am happy and always 12th at the end of a season then i go back to other account i use to find out i lost three places as someone has three accounts lol so i think i should sign up and have two account? What you think?

Got it, I'll set tire wear to x30. ;)

Haha, that will be fun. I guess I'll find out live whether x4 mediums will make it with a full tank :) The hard tires were hardly worn at x3 after the fuel depleted. I see I need at least 2 pit stops for 2.4 hours or 3 if I don't feel like conserving fuel and need a break :)

I'm putting the tire wear at x2, so hopefully that'll help us all out in some way :]
I don't want to make this an FIA race where you have to pit every 2 laps haha

Nice, that will make it possible to run mediums or even softs for a shorter stint. 2 or 3 pit stops is perfect. I think the x13 was the one lap event on Nord where your tires were half gone at the end of the race.

Racing is pretty clean on Bathurst, I'm on my way to DR.A if it stays like this. No chance at a win at SR.99, I'm not fast enough in the Lexus. The RC F at least keeps it interesting in those races where you only get to watch the gaps grow. Never the same through the esses. A Megane in front with a Genesis behind up the mountain is the most difficult combo. Meganes block, Genesis tries to put a nose in, RC F that's prone to sliding when avoiding a bit too abruptly in the middle.

Starting 7th now, right in the middle. Not qualifying is still better, RCZ behind, Megane in front of course. 4th place finish, still clean.

I did a Gr.3 custom race at N24 this morning to practice for next week. Does anyone else have eye problems when driving there, due to the bumpiness of the track causing the screen constantly bounce around? I feel like it's causing vertigo, or something.

Side note: I just got to work, after having the last two days off, and found out that my :censored:head boss got fired.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
It's gonna be a good day. 👍

Yes, I feel carsick in some cars on the Nurburgring and have to quit, although it's something I've never suffered from in real life.......

I reached DR.A on race B and immediately when I get bumped into the wall by a DR.B driver I get SR Down and end the race with a red S... DR.A is a curse when mixed with other DR. It's the same with DR.B vs DR.C yet as DR.B I usually drive with the other DR.B drivers.

It's not a popular opinion, however so far today all contact that I've had was with either Argentina or Brazil... They are in the minority on the grid yet it's always a Brazilian that bumps me from behind for SR Down or an Argentinian that ping pongs around the track creating chaos. Those 2 countries simply stand out. Last race had 2 x Brazil bumping me and an Argentinian crashing around the course, -3 SR. It sucks for the ones that can drive clean, I've had some great close battles with other Brazilians today. Tmascp is awesome (not how you spell it but if you see him, very clean driver, great close races). Yet it only takes one to mess up a race like a ripple effect down the field.

Someone was talking about this in another thread recently, I just can’t remember who or what thread now. But basically they said that in real life you eyes can absorb some of the bumps(or something along those lines) and naturally filter out the bumpiness.

Edit: Found it, it starts on post #978 of this thread. :)
