Well... I cruised on the first lap in the TS050. It only used .5 laps of fuel(I started with 5.6 laps, when it recalculated). 5.1 laps left on Lap 2/5, I pushed a bit more. Middle of lap 3/5, 3.5 laps left. On lap 4/5 I had 2.2 laps left. Crossed the line with 0.8 laps left and in 5th place. I fell to 17th, after spinning at the right-hander after Indianapolis. A 787B won by 4 seconds over a 919 LM55 And the TS050 in front of me.

Just did face B and had a new glitch. All the cars lost control before auto start finished, most ended up in the wall of facing the wrong way.

I guess the Alpine is coming into it's own. Top 3 places for Asia. I did a lap with the Jag. Only 12s slower than @Lion-Face (currently 10th as I type). The midnight run should be interesting .
Might be fastest over one lap, but it's nowhere in the race.
Started 19th(no Qualy time) got top 10. Gonna be tough versus other TS050s. Finished with 1 lap in the tank. That's pushing from lap 4 with 2.7 laps remaining.

Sneaked into top 10 EU @ Tsukuba with this lap...

I reckon I can nab another couple of tenths if I go outside the rumbles like 1st place does.. no lifting for the last turn knowing the track can be an extra 10 feet wider has gotta be worth loads at the line 👍

Third time lucky. Another pole, and finally a lights-to-flag win, helped by the fact that no other Hybrids turned up in my immediate vicinity at the start. In the end, I had an advantage of roughly 40 seconds over the next-best car. I made a couple of mistakes on the last lap, but my perfect race time would’ve been somewhere in the 17:12.xxx range. Optimum lap time was a 3:24.640. I didn’t have to fuel save at all as well. I guess I know my race car for the next couple of days.

The only thing I’m kind of sketchy about is the penalties coming out of the second Hunaudieres chicane. I know you get one if you go too far to the inside of the inner kerb at the exit, but I got a penalty where I know I didn’t do that. My suspicion is that I went too wide at the exit, but I don’t recall doing anything out of the ordinary there. I saved the replay, so I might take a look at it later.

Bagged another win. Had a B-rated driver who kept me honest over the first half of the first lap, until he made a mistake coming out of the first chicane. I got the clean race bonus as well, which was nice.

The consistency with which you can produce lap times in the TS050 is perhaps my favourite feature of the car. Again, no fuel saving was necessary, and its predictability probably flatters me a little bit. Great, great car.

I still suck at Arnage, though. I still have no clue how to take that corner. I’ve taken to braking softly from the point where the dotted line on the left begins, but somehow I still can’t manage to turn the car properly. Probably the weirdest turn in the game for me (only tied by the entirety of the reverse version of Alsace).

EDIT: The clean race bonus gave me 10 SR, by the way.

The circus of death is approaching. Its pathway is painted in red. Before it the frightened and helpless. Behind it a trail of the dead. Yes folks, lets have a warm welcome for that carnival of carnage, part two... la Sarthe. My qualy lap in the Jag had me starting P9/15 as the only DR/D on a grid of DR/B.. with a non qualifying DR/A thrown in.

Awkward start part way exiting the chicane when auto start quit. was nearly rammed off the track before we even got to the starting line :banghead:. I managed to survive all the way to Virage de Mulsanne before being punted into the sand. Down to P15 for me..... with an 8s gap . I slowly began to close the gap and managed to pass a few people who pitted. Caught up to a car in front, passed, then was knocked off again and fell back to last place. On the final lap P14 had a penalty before Porsche, so I passed him in the penalty zone to finish .. not last :p.

SR up 4, DR down 500. Tomorrow the Merc. Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

Nice work. 👍
Aren't those penalties super frustrating? I know I can get in the 3:22s, but I always seem to be an inch or two in the wrong direction, and get my lap destroyed by a .5 penalty. :banghead:

Yes, it is pretty frustrating. I did only one valid lap in the pre-race-quali-time 3:29,xxx (now 3:26,528).

However after some weeks of "Gran Turismo Break", I did race C. The first race was 🤬, because I was punted and lost 20 seconds.
The second race was ridiculus. My worst driving ever, unnessesary spins, and still my best race in GTsport.

So, race C. I bought the Alpine since it's the meta car and I quite like it! It sounds nice, handles well and has a pretty high top speed.

HOLY HELL though, those penalties. 10% of my laps make it past sector 1 because of Dunlop and Tertre Rouge. I've been at it for an hour and a half and I've clocked a SINGLE valid lap, a 3:21.688. I've only finished one other lap. I came into the final sector 1.7s up on my PB (meaning I was en route to a top 10 stars spot provided I got the final sector right) but got a penalty coming out of the Porsche Curves because I ran wide. Obviously that really frustrated me, so I absolutely blew the Ford Chicanes. My time was still a 3:20.742. I'm positive I can get a 3:19, but I'm shutting off the PS4 now because I'm on the verge of damaging my controller :scared:

By the way, my PS4 seems to have overheating issues. It singlehandedly increases the room temperature by 2ºC and sounds like a vacuum cleaner on top of that. I'm pretty sure the fan is fine, it hasn't been that long since I last opened it up. Does anyone have any clue?

Race report from LeMans.

I only did one race, this morning (spent most of my morning qualifying) in a mixed A/S SR group. I started on pole with the LM55, and left the FM at 1, using A/T, until I got to the Mulsanne straight, so I could create a gap before I started fuel saving. On the straight, I dialed the FM down to 3, and left it there until I finished the second lap, when I noticed I was gonna be a bit short on fuel for 3 more laps.

On laps 3 & 4, I used FM 4 to get my fuel situation right. Then I was able to switch back to 3 for the final lap. The only guy that got close to me had to pit after the third lap. At the end, I was 9 seconds clear of the next car. 👍 The problem is that my race time was really slow, and I want to do this race against the A/S & A+/S drivers, this week.

I'm perplexed now, because with a race time of 17:51, which is a really bad 3:34 average :scared: (Q time 3:23.8) I'd get murdered in the top group. Saving fuel with fuel mapping is costing me tons of time. Leaving it at full power, and pitting would be faster, overall.

When I tested with Pigems, the other day, he was only losing about 1.5 seconds per lap to me when he was short-shifting to make it the full 5 laps. I pitted, and ended up about 14 seconds behind him at the end. Based on my rough math, I'd decrease my total time by about 15-20 seconds by not saving fuel, leaving it at FM 1, still using the A/T.

The only 2 other options that I'm considering at this point are learning to drive that car with a manual transmission :nervous:, and short-shift it, or use the TS050 :yuck:, which Sven said will go all the way without conserving.

On a bit of a break from Sports Mode. Working on finishing GT League.

Drove extra careful. Avoided trouble. Practicing patience. Pretending the AI were people. But just couldn't get a clean race bonus in around 12 races.

Just did Premium Sports Lounge. Race 7 St Croix C reverse. Don't know this track at all. I was totally lost. I would pass cars then every sharp turn hit a wall, bounced off, kept going. Won with a clean race bonus. lol.

GT League is teaching me so much.

Mine stopped being so loud after i cleaned it the first time. Used to sound like an f18 take off. It still gets hot though.

Should add that its a launch day ps4. Still running since day 1.

„Paint your office on your first day off“ I said. „Should take just one day“ I said. „Alpina White [German brand of wall paint] usually only needs one layer“ I said. Now I got a half painted home office and know I will need tomorrow and probably wednesday. A nice way to spend a one week off work. Not.

No racing today since I‘m done today. I Just did a few Q-Laps. What did they do to the setups again? I raced (coincidally the same track time) a few practice laps with the default setups + BoP + Hard Tires. I constantly hit 3:28 to 3:33 times. Now only in Sports Mode I‘m struggling to get a 3:35. I will check tomorrow and I bet that the Toyota will show off perfect handling (not neccessarily speed but the general feeling of a quick car with good handling leaving you with the desire of buying one ASAP. That‘s PD‘s Balance of Promotion)

I‘m off drowing myself in a few Liters of Beer.

The bad luck streak continues!
2 Race B today, first was ok but I started near the back because of a bad singular quali lap. Managed to qualify well for race 2, had to avoid the foirst corner mess by running wide so fell, but worked back up from 8th to 4th, ran wide on a corner trying to leave room so conceded to 5th. The 911 behind me (who was 6th) then got a bit aggressive, braking far too late for every corner and using me as a buffer. I managed to stay on track and keep getting SR downs for my troubles, until the last corner on lap 4 when they properly punted me off and then quickly quit. I finished 10th. Lost 7 SR and 500 DR for that, they were a DR C driver so of course every time they used me as a buffer to stop them from sliding off track my SR fell. I'm really not enjoying racing at B/B level at all. It's not fun with everyone around trying to get past using pushing off as a method instead of actual racing. Honestly ruining the game for me.
3rd attempt, clean race, gained 2 SR for my troubles. System be screwed.
Hopefully the next update with fresh tracks and cars will mix it up next week!

Same here. Bought the Toyota yesterday. Did a bunch of laps and custom races with BOP and rh. When I tried Q laps this morning it felt like driving a different car. I couldn't get close to the lap times I did yesterday. I just quited out of frustration. I'll try it again later if i feel a bit more ....in control :(

Well, thanks to a major tooth ache I’ve got today off and a dentist appointment later today. But for now, I’ve got the Miata down to a 12.0, I couldn’t catch @Mistah_MCA or @QC YALUM but I came close! Great Laps guys!!

It has the chicanes, and hards only. No stop is possible with short shifting. :)

Edit: I’ve got the R18 down to 3:24.0 but it seems it may not be the best car for Q this time around. Gonna try the 908 and R92 next. Again, great Lap @Mistah_MCA

Something I didn't think of when I read your post, earlier was that when I had an abscess tooth that hurt so much that I wanted to cut my head off, I tried a bunch of stuff that didn't help, but what did work almost instantly was swishing vodka around in my mouth. Swallowing it is optional. I don't know why, but it works really well. 👍
