I guess I'll try Tsukabe to see what SR you get there. I got disconnected while matchmaking for the 7:30 daily C, only one I have time for this morning :banghead: Never ever fix that bug PD. I'm down to 81 from the lag fest race last night where I kept getting SR Down from laggy cars hitting me off road and a 2 sec penalty from a 1 bar connection zipping through me several times. I wonder what PD has changed about the shortcut penalties, it's the damn contact penalties that needed work.

I just did a daily in order to bring SR up from 89. I did race A, Miata @ Tsukuba. Usually get like 4 SR points (iirc) for a 100% clean race but this time my clean race gave me 10, just maxed me out. Wonder if the formula there has been changed. Would like to see if others can report in about this.

Yep, same here, +10 SR for a clean race on Tsukaba, that's a lot for race A. Great now SR.S will have even more bad drivers. Shortcut seems the same, saw someone skipping a corner, 0.5 sec. Contact the same, saw someone attempting a barge pass, made contact and took all wheels over the inside line, other car that was driving correctly got 2 sec penalty.

Yes, we DR/Ds do things like deliberately going slowly and waiting for the mismatched DR/A laps us before showing our true speed so we can knock it off :p. If it's a DR/A or B, it's meat for the grinder .

Quite right. Who invited you into my lobby with all your driving speed and expertise!

Just think of the shame if I were to beat you fair and square...

Still no real racing this week. Painting a single room with about 40m² of walls took three days. The craftsmen seem have worked rather sloppy 6 years ago before we moved in and didn't apply ground coat properly. Frustrating when you pull a perfectly white lane and then see the paint develop into droplets. All that twisting, stretching, bending and kneeling now got me moving like an old man.

But I again took the chance to check Q-Laps. Has anybody tried the R18 '11? It's suprisingly well balanced goes smooth through every turn. Especially in the Porsche Curves it feels more like a GT3 car while still being quick, just not as stiff as the other LMP1/VGT and also not as flabby as the old Group C's.

Maybe I'm in the mood for a real race tonight. I guess as a German I am not supposed to say I am going to conquer a french pine forest.

Looks like I may finally be able to go fast! Interested to see if it helps me at all with qualifying lap times.

Not so fast.

They changed the physics again, so catching the top 10 is a tall order at the moment.

My current Q time is 1:31.5. I could get the Audi into the 1:31's in races. My best lap this morning is 1:32.6. I was heading towards a low 1:32 when I spun, but it looks like getting to the 1:31's is a much greater challenge than it was yesterday.

I think the diff has changed so it doesn't slide the rear as much as it did before on braking. Corner entry speed seems slower to me, as in you have to scrub off more speed to avoid blowing the corner.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY wish they would hold off triggering changes like this until Monday's when the new Sport Mode races start. It sucks to hop in a race and make a mess of it all because they decided to change the physics without notice.

Thanks for the info, I will keep this in mind when I go racing tonight, I have already wrecked most of my SR/DR this week already so don't
think I can do any more damage.

I guess that would be nice to hold off till the next races start but this is PD were talking about!

They changed them again? Is it a revert back to something closer to 1.38? Or is there even MORE grip now? Lol

Have the leaderboards been reset? They’ve done that before when they made a mid week physics change and we ended up with split boards at the end of the week.

Hmm, now remind me again, who was it who said..

"BTW, I was in the new physic thread. Seriously, I don't get the uproar. Whenever there's a change, I just deal. Maybe, maybe, it's because that what I had to do in reality. If I changed tires from Michelin to Pirelli to Bridgestone, etc, all I could do is deal. A change in corner approach here, maybe a change in suspension there, whatever. People pay a lot of money to go to the track and complaining leaves you standing alone in the pits while everyone else gets on with it. I consider us lucky because we can play with the brake bias and usually adjust the car's behaviour to cope."

;)

I'm not complaining about the change, I'm complaining about the timing of the change. That it's changed isn't my problem. That I fire up the game, start a race, and find that it's changed when I brake for corner 1 is the problem.

I haven't seen any leader board reset. I would definitely say that there is less grip now.

EDIT: Grip is different. Not more or less. I think the lateral grip over all is the same, but corner entry and exits have changed.

Got my Interlagos time down to 1.33.1, i ran a 32.9 for the first time ever in about a zillion laps over the past year but it was in a race, no draft though so i think it's a moral 32 :)

It's weird because with the new grip model the cars feel slower at interlagos, exiting both the last turn and through the esses is much, much harder than it was, i often have to lift a little to get through, but the times are there.

Was punted here but had a decent recovery. Not the cleanest effort and slow lap times but exciting none the less.

Already three more great races on tsukuba this morning. As sick of this combo as i am it does seem to be a good one for me. Also ran a handfull of in race laps under 1.12... so perhaps today will be the day i do it in qualifying, being able to use ghosts from the top ten will certainly help me, it always has in the past at leat.....

Friday jr. Homies... :gtpflag:

I guess you're the exception, your lapped ghosted car unghosts and starts to go on a rampage. I also thought you were DR C.

My post was an example of what IMO is a fallacy in the system and shouldn't exist with no intention of aiming it at anyone specifically.

This is awesome.

I feel like this should had been in the game from the beginning (pretty standard feature in a lot of other games) but better late than never.

Carnage in a Race A caused by a single A/S driver. Looking at their profile on K', I can only think that the driver was deliberately causing a DR reset because they prefer to win against weaker drivers. They have won over 1/3rd of their >1500 races. It seems pretty inconceivable that such driving would be mere incompetence from a driver who has had a 52k DR in the past:

Just a heads up, when you run two wide with another car through a corner, on the exit line, you need to move to the outside edge of the track so that the inside driver has room for their exit line. You were chopping a lot of exit lines on other drivers forcing a lot of incidences to occur and creating a slow bottleneck. Even if your exit speed doesn't naturally push you to the outer edge of the exit line, you should still move to the edge as the inside car probably has a run on you and will hit you because they are assuming that you are going faster than you are and will move to the outside.

I think I have figured out what has changed. I believe it is the "ABS" and "traction control", as in the internal stuff rather than the settings we can adjust. I need to try ABS off to be completely sure that's changed.

I did a race with the GR3 Huracan because that car is really sensitive to physics changes. Also, as my favourite car, I know it best.

With the new changes, I find it to be a BEAST at Interlagos. On braking, you have to trail off the brakes more so now than ever (IMHO). Staying on the brakes will cause you to go wide. This was already better in 1.39, but it's just a tad more of a thing now. So, as you brake hard, the car will want to go straight and continue going straight until you trail off, and the more you trail off, the more it will turn.

Also, timing your downshifts seems to be more helpful now rather than just banging through the downshifts. I didn't over aggressively slam down through the gears this time, because I was racing, but it seemed to be a good idea to be smooth and not upset the car.

I found corner exits to be FAR easier. I don't know if it was because I hadn't upset the rear, or if I had more grip, but The Huracan normally requires a light touch on exits to keep the rear in check. Now, I could be more aggressive with the throttle and it wasn't sliding around as much as before, or probably ever.

My fastest in race lap was 1:32.1

Agree 100%, I am usually a huge advocate that one must leave-a-da space. In saying that, no shortage of incidents where i maintain the racing line and get bombed in on, a lot of guys in that clip are not side by side, not even close.

The ELF Porsche i did chop a touch into the second of the double rights but that corner is CRAZY slippery and if you go wide you fall off, we messaged after the race and both felt we fought fair. Couple of other times you're right, i should have left more space for sure.

Rampage! Yes!!! Invi smaaaash!. I was DR/C... for all of 5 days . Green Hell took it's toll on both DR and SR :yuck:.

And so the Karnival of Kaos kontinues at the Circus de la Sarthe. *Finaly* managed to beat the qualy time I set with the Jag on Monday. Victim #4 this week.. iiiiit's a Nissan, and that's my caaaar! Yes, I plugged away with the dado, and that got me P12/17 as one of 4 DR/Ds. The rest were Bs with the odd A thrown in ... meat for the grinder, mwahahaha! A special shout out to @TurboTacho. He was doing a @Sven Jurgens starting at P17. I think they were struggling to fill the grid.. SR/S-B and even then not the full 20 .

Race starts even more awkwardly than usual, mid chicane. That buys me a second of breathing space at Dunlop from the guy behind me. It didn't take long for me to get hit from behind. Not sure if it's just me or the tyres warming up but the first two laps I had several moments where I understeered my way off the track, whilst doing a snails pace... it just would not turn :banghead:. I dropped back to P17 and then slowly went about staying on the tarmac and not revving the guts outta the engine. When I crossed the line to start the final lap I had 1.3 laps worth of fuel left. I had a 30s gap to the guy behind me, which by this stage was P15. Kudos to him and the guys behind him who stuck out the race to the end .

I finished P14. @TurboTacho finished.... ahead of me. Where exactly is his tale to tell ;).

SR up 4, DR dropped about 250. Tomorrow on to the Porsche for my final race of the week. Need to rest my hands for Monday's 2.5h :scared:. Another day above DR 1 :O.

...

When my DR takes a hit, I try to stick to Race A or Race B to recover since DR isn't affected by race distance, you can get more races in per hour.

Granted, that can also mean more damage to your DR if things go poorly, but I try to be optimistic :D

Been running the 908 at La Sarthe all week, no stopping. Now the fuel consumption has increased (or the fuel capacity has decreased!), as the strategy that has given me 5 laps is now only giving me 4...

Noticed that others in the 908 were having to stop too - in fact, the only car I've seen win all day, with a no stop strategy, has been the TS050.

I only realised recently that the different field sizes mean you can actually gain more DR from one race C than one race B, and from one race B than one race A. I see now that is why I seemed to gain so much more DR from FIA races, it's because they have 20 drivers.

Race A... yeh no! Race A's require you to be smooth to get anywhere... not my style :p. Race B would be the go, depending on the track. I usually only have the time or inclination for a single race a night. The Nurburgring issues a siren's call that cannot be ignored, even if it means mindlessly plunging to your doom :odd:. No time for a second race.

Having a troubling issue that's killing my desire to play.

First a little backstory of what I think may be causing it. My PS4 once fell out of my rucksack (I often bring it to my brother's place or a friends' for LAN party style sessions, but this time the zips weren't fully closed and the weight of the ps4 pulled the bag open) and hit hard on the concrete step below.

This was a while ago now - given how hard it dropped I expected it to be completely bricked, but it still runs completely fine, the fan is rather loud probably due to being askew/broken but I play with headphones on so it doesn't bother me. What DID break was the bluetooth transmitter/lightbar. I can't play anything without my controller plugged in via cable - inputs will stick, controller will disconnect, it's very ugly. This is all well and good and doesn't affect me other than always needing a reliable USB cable.

However, one issue has reared its head the last few weeks; under heavy braking on GTS, my cockpit view shakes around violently as if my driver is having a seizure. Usually the view will "pull up" somewhat so I am gazing at the roof while braking, sometimes it will shudder in every direction. This only happens under braking, I feel like the heavier I'm braking the worse the effect is. As soon as I come off the brakes the camera settles into normal position.

Things to note:

The faster the car/harder the braking, the worse it is. Group 1 is nearly undrivable rn.

I use MT so my right thumb is absolutely not moving the right stick inadvertently; it's on square for the gears.

I haven't noticed any other symptoms of bad bluetooth, i.e stuck inputs, disconnects etc. I've had busted bluetooth for ages so I know the problems it throws at me :p

Has anyone else ever seen this weird camera shake effect? I have never seen any reference to it which is what leads me to believe it may be my busted box.

Anyone have any idea what might be going on, what I might be able to do to fix it? I cannot drive in other views, way too much time put into cockpit. I even drive first person on GTA V because I find anything else properly weird. Really wanna keep smashing races but when it's this bad I can't see the track, the corner, other cars at all if I'm braking and it's very disorientating and caused more than one ruined race for me. So uhhh... help?

Sorry if wrong thread; this is easily the comfiest most helpful thread here, though ;)

No idea what to say about that issue but it sounds terrible

I DID IT!!!!

Thanks to @Oshawa-Joe in the form of a ghost and some personal messaging. Now to try and get closer to that optimal time after work.

Enjoying the hell out of my new Camaro!

This is usually how I test my new cars:

@Pigems, get out to the desert, man. I'm having way more fun than the daily races. 👍 For maximum fun in Time Trial mode, go to the race settings, and turn off the "Reset Car On Track".
I found a new jump.

I think my beautiful classic car is pretty much totaled, already.:(

I hadn't noticed, until now, how much detail they put into vehicle damage. My lights got busted out, somehow. I think I hit a deer.

Assuming you are using left trigger to brake, have you tried any other game, used left trigger extensively to the max and experienced anything in the ui/display that would normally be attributed to right stick control? Or is it just a GTS thing?

I'm pretty sure you can turn Bluetooth off in the console settings anyway, just to rule it out.

Excellent work. After you're last Chevy effort I am disappointed that this is damage as opposed to custom livery detail!
