First attempt at Willow, at least my SR survived. Monday evening, rough backfield as usual. I started 13th, got run off by the non qualifiers behind me, moved up a bunch of places from people in the sand, then got bumped off again from them trying to get back to the front. Business as usual. Finished 13th where I started. -1100 DR, all Sunday evening podium finishes on the Nord gone lol.

The worst part, over 8 minute wait between races, means no excuse not to finish the dishes. (or complain about the dishes on here, I'll finish them next waiting period )

Second race, same thing basically. I start 14th, 16th place dives into T1 knocking me out. He gets a penalty but I'm spinning in the sand and he stays ahead. Lot of rowdy traffic in the back, but I manage to pass a few cleanly as well as the 16th place hero. However he punts me off last lap, does wait for me this time so I finish 13th again. Still blue SR. Another 1000 DR lower. On the highway back to DR.B. Fun track, rdy for the next one. (Oh wait dishes :ouch:)

Driving the Italia btw, Big Willow feels like Outrun.

3rd attempt, clean race bonus, 11th place finish, only 600 DR down. On to the next car, Aston Martin is up.

Lol so dirty in a full A/S room. I was doing good but oh well, taken out again. Just means another go in the Astin Martin :) Can't wait to drive with the B/S crowd again. A/S is pretty bad in the back field, 3 wide without any kerbs, what can go wrong. I'm surprised it has been all full A/S rooms so far, popular track.

Another full A/S room. I got nudged aside a couple times but managed to stay on without SR Downs. The road is so wide, I'm thinking the cars must be magnetized, must make contact! 11th place finish after trading paint was complete, clean race bonus 2. Enough for tonight. SR untouched on a Monday night while racing from the back, that's a win. Still 43K DR left over, it will be a while until I get to race the more contact free B/S crowd again in prime time.

Big Willow always brings the entertainment. From the back you have the perfect view of all the cars that get launched over the dunes

I hope everyone is having a good day today.

I'm not home yet, but does anyone know what the "meta" cars are for the B and C time trials?

The Meta car is whatever you are using, oh fast one

I knew the TT Cup was still a beast on this track. I can’t wait to race later.

The handling on that thing is insane. You just have to get the turns right, as the TT does have under steer.

Race B is all over the place. The BoP seems to be working fairly well for Gr.4. This morning I put down a nice time with the Jag, then I beat it with the NSX, then I beat that one with the Huracan. If I had to enter a race right now, I don't know which one I'd choose. All 3 separated by .054.

Use your random generator to decide

Alright, improved slightly, to1:38.671.

Lets see where that sticks me on the grid . .

8th. Surrounded by R18s.

The legend of the now retired R18 lives on.

Great job. Congratulations.

Now for the bad news.

At some point this week, you're gonna find out that this bad boy will catch and pass a TT.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the GR4 lambo just made up? As in Lamborghini doesn't have a GT4 car?

Probably. I don't follow that stuff.

What time do you normally race? I'm usually racing in the night and never see you all. :(
I don't usually race at night, but Willow is only in Sport Mode twice a year, so maybe I will, these next couple nights. Although, today I've been thinking I want to try some Q laps with a manual transmission.

That’s a great idea, Let’s do it!! 1v1 standing start, 1 lap, alternating pole, best 4/7 Wins. That could be a LOT of fun! :)

I run on Atlantic time here so I’m usually on anywhere from 4pm to 10pm EST(5-11pm my time) and then all weekend.

We should set it up for the weekend and do it live!
Ooo I'm down! We'll need some witnesses. @sturk0167 , come thru, we'll need you when we start to settle it!

Hmm. I'll try to get on sometime this week. I'll ping you when I'm on. I'll likely only do the B race this week.

Well, I had to get me a try on the kart...
I tired out mentally and couldn’t quite put it all together to get into the 55 region.
I ran no abs or tc because I got pedals and wheel.
Top 40 for now, but it’ll be shattered once people start to figure out the kart better. I have a good handle on it, might be able to do better when the minds fresh, but I’m good for now.
56.2
Edit I run no hud on qual, but turned it back on and shared replay in game, so the inputs show in case anyone wants to see a kart without left foot braking or abs or tc or rear locking rapid downshifts...
I’ve got another .2 lap also same settings, my line is what sucks, the kart is fantastic to drive on good peripherals, it’s a pipey little thing.

So, Race C can be done without refueling only with the Toyota?
No. I didn't have to refuel with the 1980s prototypes. The 962 can go full throttle all race. The Jag I had to short shift before pitting to get me more fuel(an extra 0.5 laps) and map 3 for my out lap, for a full throttle push to the finish for the last two laps.

The C9 required me to use map 3 from pit stop to the penultimate lap and full throttle from the last lap.

Tried the jag this morning and got it down to an 18.029 or something like that. Couldn't best that time tonight in another try with the jag, the nsx, and the 86. I'll try more in the morning, i am usually slow at night. I just dont want to run a fwd car, i hate fwd so much in the game (and real life tbh) if i can get down under 17.5 I'll try racing but till then i am under the pace i feel like i should be at....

Thanks for the info. Well, maybe I'll try some Cs tomorow.

Do it up!! It’s a super fun track to race on. 👍

The Lamborcuzi sucks, needs to be pushed way to hard to make time, the Audi doesn’t even seem like it’s being pushed that hard to keep up. :)

Edit: Apparently I just suck with it then!

Congrats on the Dub @sturk0167

View attachment 839101 This is what we come to Willow for right?

You can bet your ass I'll be posting all my best crash pics and videos from Willow Springs this week. 👍

After tonight, I think I'll rename Willow Springs to Killer Springs. Two races, that was it. Just a ton of overdriving the course in race 2, but blood on the track in my first race. I should just save the time editing & upload the replay to the GT server so everyone here can see everybody there crashing into someone.

Race B last to wherever I can finish in a Viper for 3 races or so.

MOPAR or no car?

55.946!!! I am so done with this stupid thing! :D

Hey. Pssst. <looks around to make sure no one else is listening>....... I know the secret to getting fast times with the kart. <looks around nervously again> .... GIT GUD!!!!!

The kart is awesome. I've done laps around Nord and Bathurst. Wish there were more races with it. Brands Hatch was a blast.

And don't use the G29.

Not going to lie: as annoying as it is to have to barely move the wheel to steer the kart, it's a ton of fun to use...
Unless if you are me and you are trying to break the (insert time here) barrier.

@BjoBosUndies I don't want to accuse you of deliberately tanking your ratings for the purpose of harvesting wins.

My point was that getting reset down the ranks will increase your chance of winning races.
My win-to-race ratio is certainly inflated because I've had resets. Maybe you can agree that yours is as well?

Agree.

And that’s part of the reason, I said “It’s easy to get wins.” I never said I’m better than anyone because I’m winning.

The other drongo changed the context of the conversation.

It’s a bit of an echo chamber in here. Once one drongo starts the others virtue signal.

Anyway that was yesterday’s conversation...

Lol i’ll try to keep the C rating maybe push for B. There’s no Fia races Wed to help so I’ll be lucky to keep it at C.

Good luck fellas as ya’ll try and reach the stars.
Really? Well that's a bummer, was looking forward to Wednesday night racing. Guess have to find something else to keep me busy lol

787B was hard work. Finished with 0.1 laps no fuel save. It's not that tidy when the tyres drop off.

Well, it's a beast. Did everything right. Not as nimble as the 962, but it handles the esses real good and with speed. Was as high as 6th from lap 2 through after Pit stop lap 9. No stoppers on bald tyres skid in front of me into T1, I tap the car and get 4 seconds. Oh well.

The 962 is the best classic, overall. Fuel economy, handling, shift speed(on DS4), no turbo lag, visibility in cockpit view.

I've recently started playing GTS again. I couldn't get into it when it first came out - it was the idea of starting again I think and going back to no wheel. Anyways, I got Wheel Hub a couple of months ago and breathed new life into my trusty old DFP and the game, and I've been scanning though the odd GTP forum again to see what's going on.

After some extremely frustrating races over the weeks, a few runs on last week's Swifts@Nordschleife got me to SR A which so far seems to have filtered out most of the dive bombers and d***heads. Indeed, I has a great tussle with a Dutch player on the Nord which restored my faith in humanity .

I've only tried a couple of Willow races this week - a full D/A, D/B race got me a 7th to 2nd, then with supreme confidence from the podium place I went into the next race for a 6th to last. Just kept sliding off the track :banghead:.

I notice we are still at the mercy of variable grip levels when playing on line; there's a definite difference from qualifying and its seems it can change from race to race.

Thank you!

I drove with ABS "off" (but it is never completely off) and BB 5.

Had a few races with you and Wifi password last night. Not sure how I got put in with you guys, but it was fun racing!

Does TCS 5 help that much? I found I managed to go a bit faster with it off, as it wasn't causing me to understeer as much.
