I found a little bit more in the TT. :)

I knew i should have stayed out of the lobbies. I had "one more race" and @watto79 overtook me AROUND THE OUTSIDE at T1. Nicely done!

First bit of news is I FINALLY got a 1:16. It's a 1:16.977 but I'll take it! I followed @sturk0167 piece of advice and just went with the TT and left the BB at 0. Seemed to do the trick!

I then almost immediately find myself in a lobby with @iGriff85 :) This was by far my best race of the week and have finally found some confidence at Big Willow.

I have to say it's a pleasure racing against you. Going around the outside is risky but knowing you from here I knew if I left space I wouldn't get punted into the middle of the desert, so a big shout out to you for being part of making that happen. If it was someone I didn't know I would probably have hung back. I shouldn't harp on about it, but here it is.

And yeah I saw some 1:15's. Those guys really MUST be cheating

Just had a good race at Willow, finished where I started, crossed the line .6 behind the leader and 1.0 in front of 3rd place. :)

That one earned me almost 600 DR bucks, which now puts me at 49.7. The next race could be the one that seals it with a solid finish. :)

Final stretch dude, bring it home!

WooHoo!! I got it!! I started 2nd again behind the same guy from the first race, he lead for 2 laps but then made an error and I got by on lap 3, I held him off for as long as I could but I ended up having to let him by on the final Lap. It was a really fun race, he was fast and clean, gave me room when needed and I returned the favour when the time came. What a great end to a stressful week, I’m so glad that’s over!

Congratulations!! :gtpflag:

Thanks fellas, it’s been a great week!

I also owe a HUGE Thank You to @sturk0167 !! If it wasn’t for you I never even would have attempted it man, Thank You Very Much!
That's kind of you to say, but it was all you, my man. Frankly, I'm surprised you didn't do it sooner. And to do it with a FWD car? Wtf?
I will probably never do it, but I'm really very happy that you achieved your goal. If it were me that got there, I probably would just put that account on the shelf for a long while. Hard work and practice pays off. Feeling proud. :)

Congratulations!

Welcome to the A+ club, my friend!

Thanks guys, with any luck this should be the last one to pass. It really is very painful, a different kind of pain that really messes with you. I couldn't sit down or stand still in the waiting room and so a nurse saw me within minutes, which is nice.

It's not my first time at this rodeo, and I can honestly say that after the first one, my pain threshold is absolutely insane and the subsequent ones haven't rocked me so much - i just get into town as quick as possible and stumble to the A+E desk and do zen breathing until i get pain relief. The NHS staff are amazing (despite what you may have heard, I won't hear a bad word against them) and they know me by now so I can avoid being stuck in a bed unnecessarily and getting tests i dont need.

I don't want to get too sappy on you guys, but I am grateful for your thoughts. I don't have a huge social circle right now and the fact that you guys all over the world, who i only interact with about racing, wanna show me concern and make sure I'm OK. That's big.

Anyways I am just chilling now, restoring my strength and I'll be back on track before long - hopefully I can make tomorrow's lobby, but we'll see how I am for energy.

Much love, guys :)

I work as a paramedic so I've seen tons of those and, indeed, these things are painful as can be. Good thing is the recovery is usually not that long and normally without any long term consequences so ..... The best to you and you should be back on track very soon 👍 ;)

Oh vey, my plan to get a win is not working. Race one took a guy out and waited, didn’t see him come back on.
Second race Brazilian punted later in race bs 2 seconds for a slower guy spinning into me...
Third race...we shall see...My rating is dropping methinks, but no matter!
Racing is fun!
Race three, punted but kept fourth...Replay was hard to watch. Leading, lost lead, held lead, punted...
Ah well, coulda been an accident.
One more try, missed the next one, I’ll go for one more...I’ve been driving kinda crap, but it’s fun and next week doesn’t look inviting.
I felt bad race one punted the guy because I wasn’t ready to brake yet, waited for him to come back on and didn’t see him, had game set to car names, I let everyone by and he ended up grabbing third...
He was already back on!
I imagine I am on the precipice of losing a dr letter, but even if I do it’s worth it.
Mountains are blue, karts runnin like a top, let’s go!

I just met Sven at the back of race B. He was stuck in the Vette, which does not like Big Willow. It was fun, though. With no Q times, we ended up 5th and 6th (tons of crashes). Both of us had clean races. 👍

Fun race, I didn't over take anyone in that race  Thanks for punting them all off :sly:

I drove the 4C in the next race, warning, unlike the Vette it responds to steering input lol. I went sliding a couple times but kept it on the road until a Stang felt the need to bump me off. No penalty for him, no SR Down for me, still CRB but a 14th place finish thanks to sitting in the dirt. Switching from a car that need sledge hammer to turn to one that only needs a feather is tricky.

Next up is the Lexus after a bit of a break.

@Pigems Congratulations! I'm just reading up on the rest of the posts. Awesome!!! I'm sure you can hang on to it longer than a day :)
A+ party tonight :gtpflag:

Well, I was hoping for more karting glory this morning, but have been back and forth to the loo every couple of minutes to the point where I couldn't even finish an attempt at the Porsche Nordschleife TT.

To spare you all the details, the tap is open but the water floweth not. And of course, meanwhile, my family wants to fall out with each other and try and drag me to one side or the other, but this forum isn't the place for me to complain about that.

So here I am, sat on the loo with a whole bag of bugger all happening and my messenger pinging every couple of minutes with messages I don't wanna read.

Hopefully my body sorts itself out and I can play today, otherwise I'll just be sat on my backside visualising waterfalls all day...

...not a great day. Hope y'all are having a better one.
Wow! Hope it all gets resolved quickly, and peacefully Player.

Edit: just saw your other post...get well soon Player.

The 86 is the meta for a reason, fastest lap on first attempt. Then the Mustang, that took 3 races. First I went off by myself as after the 86 the Mustang understeers like an oil tanker.

A CRB without any contact is +7 SR on Big Willow. However any contact without SR Down still takes 1 SR away while SR Down takes 3 SR away. A time penalty takes away a lot, those 4 unfair penalties yesterday had me decent to SR.B. A single SR Down time penalty seems to be -10 SR as I went from 99 to 96 from the first 4 sec BS penalty. Add the usual SR Downs from a draft bump or someone not paying attention in a corner and you go down fast.

In my case, after the Mustang, the Viper is the oil tanker.

This math explains why I bolted up the SR ranks last night alone.

I found a little bit more in the TT. :)

I really wanted to drive the Viper & tried to improve my QT. I found enough to give the Viper a new best time, but it was still painfully slow compared to the Mustang. So, I'll be driving the Mustang for the reminder of the weekly race.

Just make a second account, then you can race any time without worry about anything, if you get bumped off? No worries, just carry on and it doesn’t even matter. Only use you good account on combos you feel confident on. :)

 I'd have to start another account & never touch my main account again.

I'm sure this statement is specific to each driver & room, but I beg to differ. I fell off the track last night chasing someone who was leading in the 'Vette. Plus, the 'Vette is competitive in my testing.

As for me, I mentioned some more testing tonight before racing. I tried the Viper, but it just didn't have the reflexes to make me confident. So, I jumped into a couple of races in the Mustang. First race, started 2nd, I hounded the leader for almost 2 laps & then....off at the last turn. :banghead: Second race, put on pole. Had 2nd challenge me at the end of the first lap. We bumped pretty good a few times. I accidentally bumped him off at turn 1, but he recovered quite nicely & would be back to 2nd 2 laps later. Then....OFF AT THE LAST TURN. I was done for the night after that.

If anyone is still racing in about half an hour i might try to get a few in when i get home from work. I don't usually race at night, but i so enjoyed being on the track with @sturk0167 earlier today that if i can run with some of the boys i might just jump in and throw a few more dr out the window in the sake of a good time lol

Saved the replay from that second race. I will try to post some highlights.....

I'm headed out now. I'll probably be on for a bit. Might catch a few with you :D.

Tried a Kart race tonight. QT 57.125. Start 9th. Pushed off 1 once. Finished 11th. -500 DR.

Someone lost grip I guess, came sliding across. Took me out. I had no chance to avoid. Fell back 5 seconds. But almost caught up to the next car. Which felt good. Like sinking a putt on the 1st try after taking 6 shots to get on the green. :D

Although it took a while I finally got bit by Willow Springs. Violated two of my rules, don't race in the day and don't let my kids watch as I can't focus as well with all the commentary and suggestions. 2 races, first I did well, let 2 swerve on by but drifted slightly off, turn 1 lap 2 I drift slightly wide and knock another guy off, but didn't kill him. Letting him back by 2 other cars pass and I get a 3 sec. Plus SR down as a guy I was letting by hit me anyway. Drop to finish 10th, but not major losses DR or SR. Next race start 7th. 2 in front of me beating the hell out of each other so I slow down to stay clear enough. 1 goes off (on his own) and other brakes waaay too late so I take the normal line into 3 when the guy behind decides to kamikaze up the inside to make it 3 wide. He loses it, hits me and I knock the other guy into the wall. Get my lovely 3 sec again, coming out of 4 another guy has cleared the mayhem and just starts slamming me in the side until I spin and almost stay on track, but lose it into the dirt anyway. He gets 1 second? I get stuck behind as he is out of control in all the good passin spots, but doesn't get slow enough to clear. Finally get by and since he's in the 86 he stays all over me. Plenty of bumps later I beat him to 9th but take an 11 point hit on SR.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. Hopefully I can find a clear race or two tonight with the lower SR.:lol::lol::lol:
