KARTING IS THE GREATEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO THE GT SERIES:

Sorry for the caps guys, but this was a special occasion.

Thanks @Mistah_MCA for the awesome lap guide, I used some of your breaking points. And @RaceFace85 : I've followed your aggressive style and threw the kart around to great results.

I wanted to race last night. Tried a few cars trying to better my BMW time (I hate using the qualifying time set by a different car unless at least my optimum is there). I just was not getting it. The way I was driving last night I would have been a danger to myself and others. I think this pretty well much sums up my performance:

Trying the kart this morning.

Used @Mistah_MCA YouTube guide as a reference. So my BB at +4. Thanks.
Started on TCS 0. Couldn’t get the hang of it. Then tried at +5. Better!
Had to change the FFB on my wheel. Made it stronger. Better again!
Moved TCS to +4. Think that’s where I’ll leave it.

Broke into high 56s after 40 odd laps.

To drive it quick I think it wants you to wring it’s neck! Appears to be time there when flooring it and counter-steering your way out of the corner. I can’t do it consistently though. Almost by accident, but I suddenly I gain 2 or 3 tenths afterwards.

Gonna try for a low 56s.

WooHoo!! I got it!! I started 2nd again behind the same guy from the first race, he lead for 2 laps but then made an error and I got by on lap 3, I held him off for as long as I could but I ended up having to let him by on the final Lap. It was a really fun race, he was fast and clean, gave me room when needed and I returned the favour when the time came. What a great end to a stressful week, I’m so glad that’s over!

Congrats dude, that's quite some achievement!

Congrats Pigems!
On another note, I'm an idiot! I went back to try a couple of races tonight and just couldn't figure it out, my braking references weren't working anymore. After 2 iffy races I realize I've somehow shifted to chase cam and I normally drive with the roof view? Whatever it is. Don't know what happened and why I was too stupid to notice. Changed back and fixed most of my problems. Couldn't fix other drivers though. Mostly no problems, just slowly leaking DR by being at the back of A+ and A filled lobbies and fighting for SR when people just can't resist love taps while following me or the side nudge when driving by despite room. No obvious disasters, but enough each race to stall me building up my SR. Still pretty solid racing. Had 2 races with an S/S driver and he was a right troll. Punted several people and wasn't much faster than me. Hoping it was just someone else logged into his account somehow. All in all not too bad, high powered lobbies killing me though. Still managed to get qually lap to 1:18.08 in the WRX. Had at least half a second left on the track on that lap. Don't know how I get that boat to turn but it works for me. Tried the 86 but just couldn't make it stick.

Pig of a race B this morning.... 2nd to 13th, punted off twice on the last turn... Atleast quali is a 17.2 now

Better 2nd race, DR back up but SR dropped by 1, no idea how since I hadn't touched anyone

Say Whaaaaa?!?!?!?!

I've been riding the WRX all week and as much as it has helped me it couldn't catch a slipstream if it was tied on to the car ahead with a rope. I've been on the bumper of a Megane, TT, Lexus and Ferrari and all have plain driven away as if I had no business there. The only thing I could latch onto was the 86 (which I mistakenly though was Supra earlier in the week) and some muppet in the Scirocco. As much as it has helped me I'd bail to next week's races before adopting the WRX. It suits me for now but definitely drives weird.

I tried some B races this morning also. Did about 5-6. Needless to say, I should be driving Raptor out there. I was in the sand more than I should have been. Mustang is still the best for me. I tried the Corvette, fell off the track. Viper, slid all over the track. Toyota 86 wasn't too bad, but I missed the acceleration of the Mustang. But overall, this week's racing at Big Willow has been more fun than I've had in a long time. And, since I got back to B DR, the racing has been closer & more exciting. The replays have been sweet to watch....until I wipe myself out. :p

@BenRod, I expect to see you in Tokyo next week. Not digging the other two. I like Yamagiwa, but I suck with Gr.3 cars. And Suzuka, 🤬 you!

I'll be in there somewhere. With some luck we'll get matched together because for the last week my DR has been plummeting faster than a barrel over Niagara. I had a disconnect on Monday and one on Tuesday, then a random freeze on Wednesday right at the "FINAL" screen. Yesterday, I completely missed a start due to a spousal distraction (thanks, babe). DR is now 31,681... down from 43,540 last Saturday. SR is currently 95. So, maybe...

Also, I found my "Nordschleife Notebook"...

There's 11 pages of this stuff.

My internet went out last night grr. Phone as well so I couldn't call to complain either lol. I had to resort to watching a blu-ray. By the time it came back on I wasn't fit to drive anymore

This morning I thought to do a quick kart race while waiting for the Willow. No good, got bumped off in T1, caught up, got bumped off again by a driver zigzagging over the entire course and got SR Down for it. Caught back up and when I passed him he nicked me again in his zigzagging for another SR Down. I kept it under control this time yet no more time to catch back up to the rest. I quit right after crossing the line as that one spot doesn't matter anyway for DR and I might have missed the B entry while waiting to get back into the lobby first. That still counts as a DNF and -5 SR but whatever.

First race in the Willow. The Lexus is not my friend anymore, not on that track. GR.4 Lexus hates the desert, it either won't turn or starts sliding but mostly refuses to turn. I went off once after the distance markers had been taken out, almost held on with two wheels on the track by the car wanted to go for a spin. PD really needs to glue those distance markers down!

On to the second attempt.

Better, faster room though, I only managed to get to 10th place this time. Next up was the Genesis which drives very nicely after the Lexus, 8th place finish, crb on first attempt. Only one more to go to complete the set, the Jaguar F-Type.

If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it, it’s even cheap($12 CDN on Apple Books), I don’t read books, EVER, and I thoroughly enjoyed and learned a lot from this one.

Thanks for this. I've seen you recommend it a few times. I kept procrastinating.

Yesterday I went to my local book store to see if they had. The author is local. I though maybe. They did not. So I'm thinking about a e-version. Never bought an ebook before. Does anyone know if Kindle Version is the way to go if I want to read it on my PC or Android device? Thanks for any advice. I want to read it this long weekend.

The version is depending on the program you read on.

I wish I could help out with that part, but I use an iPad so I got mine on the Apple Books App. I’d have to think that other popular eBook apps would also have it though as it’s not a New book by any stretch. Good luck, I hope you’re able to find it, it’s worth it’s weight in Gold.

1 Morning Kart race. QT 57.043. Started 5th. Finished 6th. -300 DR. Somehow managed a Clean race bonus.

Watched the replay after. Pretty sure half the field is at the hospital now. Gong show from the start, a car back around 10th place made a move up to 5th on the 1st turn. When you see that, you kind of know sportsmanship is off the table.

I decided a last sortie was in order today.
I went back in country, locked and loaded. Sure enough the guy who punted me last night last lap when I was leading was behind me again. He runs tcs and has mastered the mini bump pass. He’s quick, mid 56 in race. Last night last race I passed him clean and walked away final race, but being punted and race ruined before still stung. So today he bashes by this RK guy who had pole with a sub 56 time. I felt I contacted RK, but on replay looks like me and RK were ok, we had gone side by side turn 1 no problem and this guy sideswiped RK.

Anyways, felt bad for RK sent him an apology. His race got ruined.

So I am in country with a known enemy on my six final lap approaching turn 4 (right hairpin before backstraight).
I had a rare moment of inspiration. I remembered this...

I lifted and let him through and did EXACTLY WHAT HE DID TO ME LAST NIGHT!
I can’t lie it felt good.
I think I am gonna end this weeks races on that.
(took the win)
