Well would you looky here . 2 or 3 races later and mission accomplished . Got back to DR A with 31.5k DR :dopey:. Been a while since I gave a 🤬 about my rankings, not sure how long I'll be in DR A :scared:, but the ride to get here sure was fun .

Props to all who challenged themselves this week. Hope it all worked out in everyone's favor.

Did one lap. I'll be working on this qualy, don't you worry.

Edit see how I go

Edit2: Weird on that. Must have glitched at the final chicane on the first lap. I didn't touch the palyer in 2nd, but he went off. I didn't get a penalty. I did get a penalty for too much curb on lap 6. At the end of the race, the player I "hit" apologized. Weird one.

Edit3: Forgot to qualify. :dopey: I was just staring at the countdown thinking I missed the window. Anyway, good race.

And Race A is the 930.

Edit4: The car feels that good  Only two laps before the timer ran out, as I kept shaving time. Only thing is, I got booted!:banghead:

Edit cinco: Bested my time with an initial lap. I hit the wall on the second run. There's still more time to shave.

Not sure what the 🤬 this guys was doing :boggled:, but it set me back from my goal a little bit :irked:.

Then there was this beauty of a race :D.

Just spent the last hour and a half trying to learn how to upload videos here. Man, I hope I did that right .

Here goes nothing.....

Edit: Holy 🤬 It worked :lol::lol:

Nice win 👍

And yeah, what was going on in the first clip! Why brake so hard right there? It only looks like it was a massive brake check, but again, why? Literally turn 2 of the race and you stayed behind for turn 1 when you could have tried a move up the inside. You did well to not hit him!

I came to the conclusion last week that the TT was the best car to race with at Big Willow. The 86 was faster but you really had to nail the corners to get the decent lap times from it. The TT being more powerful on the straight was a little more forgiving on minor mistakes and it wouldn't freak out like the 86 could if you touched the dirt. It was easier to overtake and harder to be overtaken thanks to it's acceleration and speed. Depending on how the grid played out I often found I could move up a position before turn 1 :)

It was just a shame it took most of the week to get to grips with race B because it was a lot of fun when I did.

Started 4th in the 930. Had a good battle with 3rd place. Swapped positions on lap 3 &4. Finished 4th by 0.050 seconds. Since I had HUD off, I forgot TCS was default.

Thanks. I didn't understand why they chose to brake there either :grumpy:. Nothing said after the race after they finished 3rd I think. I didn't say anything because I didn't have enough time to see who it was.

The car reset system is a much bigger troll than the penalty system in this game :lol::lol:...

It let you stay off track for such a long time to then reset you when you were just about to rejoin...

I was trying to be patient and wait for the reset too! :irked:

After I got the car rotated in the right direction I finally said screw it I'll get back on myself, and BOOM reset to the track :banghead:.

This is where I ended the week. DR/A SR/99, and 4 dubs. I'll take it!

Had that problem too. Locking the brakes seems to get you reset quicker

Thanks, I didn't know that 👍. I'll keep it in mind the next time I'm a passenger on a high speed ride through the sandbox :scared:. I've always thought it was the luck of the draw when the game would put you back on the track.

My guess is that as long as you try to control the car you won't get reset. Locking the wheels and turning full lock makes the game convinced that you are lost and resets you.

Sad to see the end of Willow Springs, it was by far my most successful event to date. I've been taking part in events on and off since launch, but never really committed time to learn tracks and set decent lap times. I've finally started to and got my first ever wins (3 of them) this week.

What cars would people recommend from race B, the Gr.3's in Kyoto?

Supra has a clean sweep of the leaderboard in EMEA

Unless you are really good it's a better call to use the car you like the most and feel best in control IMHO.
I'm probably going to race the Jag and the Lexus, because I know them best.

Ha ha. His wife sucks, too. I beat MamaJara in Tokyo, a while back. 👍

I totally remember that! In the 350Z or something?

We went to battle with the whole freakin' family. To be fair, they were fast, but why do they get to wall ride and I don't?

The youngest one, boy, 12 or 13 I think... he was pretty darn good, actually.

They came around eventually, but the lag, oh the lag.

First race around Tokyo. YES it's the Porsche!!!! It drives very nicely, makes up a bit for being the wrong version of the South loop. It's at night too, fun! Except penalty system still sucks. First attempt jump straight in, no qualy ofcourse. I managed to avoid all walls but a car losing control at the hairpin spins into me and of course I get a 2 sec penalty. I make up time, get in 5th and get disconnected due to data loss in the last lap :banghead: -11 SR, great start lol. Next!

My guess is that as long as you try to control the car you won't get reset. Locking the wheels and turning full lock makes the game convinced that you are lost and resets you.

That might explain why the game let me drive around in the dirt for 15 seconds after getting bumped off while I saw others getting reset not long after going off.

Second attempt, punted by a Brazilian. The penalty he got didn't weigh up to the time I lost so I'm still behind him. He drives like a lunatic, gets 2 x 5 sec wall penalties and another 3 sec for ramming me when I try to pass. Finally the penalty zone takes him out (he quit there). Only +1 SR for that race, to 90.

Third race, an out of control American rams me. I make it back to 7th and get lucky when 6th takes out 5th at the final hairpin. For some reason 6th doesn't get a penalty for murdering 5th. I guess spinning out over the kerbs is not penalty worthy. 5th place, neutral rating for me from the bumps of the American. It's a long way back to 99 SR this way. DR dropping again. 4 laps is way way too short.
