CnF_Pigemz has Officially been created, he’s from the town/city of Blackwood, in Wales, UK. Now to start levelling him up, that’s the worst part about a new account, they start off with SFA! Race A it is then for now. :D
Welcome to EMEA! It's very scary, and given the flag you've picked I'd watch out for the French at lower ranks - there is some history there and I had a tough time with some of them down there in D and lower SR. I don't have a problem with French drivers or think they all drive the same way but... No smoke without fire.

TYVM! I’ll just put a Montreal Canadiens decal on my car and we’ll be all good. ;)

Had a rotten 8pm Race C, this time I was the guilty party, spinning a Russian around exiting Casio and earning myself 5 secs of penalties, and ended up 12th. I decided to skip the next one in favour of qualifying, having figured how much I could have gained by revving the nuts off the MX-5's 4-pot. After 20 minutes I trimmed my lap down to a 2:32.000, and put myself on the front row right behind a smurf in the 31.4s. Anyway, he scurried off, and I was left to fend off a compatriot, who managed to get the better exit out of Spoon and I had to cede 2nd to him at 130R. Fast forward a couple of laps of reading the logos on his car, and I managed to get in front after he had a moment of brain fade and strayed onto the grass along the main straight. Unfortunately I had my own moment on the last lap when the car refused to turn in at First, letting him and a French guy through. I ended up duelling with him and a Belgian out of Spoon, and barely held onto 4th.

Oh well, at least I've un-Rejectified myself this week.

2nd account up and running! Just needed a different email address/login account, but should of used South Africa as my country since I was born and raised there...

Aaaand, that's me done.

I was hoping to get a few more races in tonight. But I'm really not feeling it, at the moment (I'm also as slow as a slow thing riding a lethargic snail) S'all good though. I have stuff to pack, clothes to wash, and boots to clean.

Meal with Sarah tomorrow, and off to Bloodstock on Thursday. See you guys on Monday.

Ugh- ugly first day at Suzuka. Fighting a little cold and being tired from work made a couple decent races very, very bad. First race wasn't my fault. Well, not the first off at least. Tapped on the inside by a car trying to pass in the Spoon, used me to counter understeer, and sent me into the gravel. Climbed back up to 16th and finished there.

Race two- started 6th, once again side-by-side in the S curves, freaked out, went off *a bit*, overcompensated, oversteered and over throttled, wound up backward and in last again, couldn't stomach spending another 20 minutes clamoring up to get maybe 17th or so, and RAGE QUIT. At least on that one I could only blame myself. Sucks worse when someone else is the cause.

tl;dr- first class ticket back to D-town.

Just to note from what I said earlier, if you want to race in a different region than your current one then you DO need a separate PS+ subscription for it.
Definitely not true.
The points in FIA are distributed in accordance to your DR. So the higher DR you got the more points you receive for a certain placement. Or so I understand it...
Largely not true.

What actually happens is that the DR of everyone in the FIA race determines the total points pot available. That's distributed roughly as 10% to the winner, 9.5% to second, 9% to third, and so on. 20th and DNFs get 0.

The higher your DR, the more points are available to everyone in each position (except 20th), not just you. The higher everyone's DR the better, because that means even more points. A top split lobby with all drivers at 75k can see a total of around 33,000 points available. I can't remember what the highest score ever seen for a win was, but I recall it was over 3,200.

I’m just about to start at the back of Race C in my first ever EU race, this is gonna be fun! :)

Would like to know what your ping times are. Being in Alberta my pings are around 150ms to the Euro servers.

It can make for some interesting races, but I do take that into account when racing and try not to get to close in case of lag spikes.

Racing is definitely tougher in Europe!

@Pigems, you just signed your death warrant welcome to EMEA! Friend request sent already ;) I'm not going to come back from vacation until the 24th though (save for a 2-day break). Looking forward to seeing you in the dailies when I return!

Also, I would love to race with all of you on Saturdays, but the thing is... the event starts at 5am for me  I suppose I can join if I have a plane to catch on Sunday morning

I wanted to do some racing today, honest, but I backed out for some Monster Hunter with the boys and then Mount and Blade Warband started giving me the sexy eyes on my homescreen and I just had to get in there and cleave some Sarranids...

Tomorrow, finish circuit experience and do racing. Honestly I will. I mean it this time. When have I ever gone back on my word? Why are you laughing.

The fact I keep getting dragged off to poke Teostra with a sharp stick is all the more argument for spending an inordinate amount of money on a wheel and all the kit. Sorry boys, can't fight behemoth, i done plugged everything in...

...ah, that's right, my bank is empty. Wonder if I can get a tobacco company to sponsor me and spot me a rig?

So uhh how do you make an account and have it say that you're in Europe?

First I made a new email account, then I went on the Sony/PSN website and made a new PSN account with it there, then I signed in to that account on my PS4. It took a few minutes to get it all done but I’m now racing in Europe. :)

In local races I always have 5 bars as I’ve got a wired connection, I only had 3 bars in that first EU race and didn’t see any issues from my end at least. This is the ping on the EU account right now. :)

Right! I always forget about time difference, my bad. I believe I accepted your request already. We officially buddies now.

Can't argue with facts. It's just too bad there's only like 7 girls in the whole game

I think 7 may be optimistic.

Finished 6th in my first race, would have been much better if not for a guy with a red/white/blue flag, not sure what that is as all the flags are new to me now. But he was a jerk and a half, ran me off twice and I still got the penalty somehow?

But I kept at it and it payed off, this pass felt real good, he had 8 seconds on me to start that lap. :D

Not a bad start overall, onto the next one now. :D

@Pigems, welcome to EMEA! I hope you enjoy the experience there, and don't get Momoz'd on the higher echelons!

Speaking of people opening up other region accounts, especially the Pig and @Mistah_MCA, I'll be setting up shop in the Asia region, but my PS+ is going to expire on the 18th! Once I get mine renewed at some point, I'll be setting up shop in the Americas and EMEA as well!

EDIT: Almost forgot!

Gran Turismo™SPORT_20190806203201.png

Started 13th, enjoyed a smooth and steady start, before running wide on Lap 3 and getting sucked into the shadow realm on the entry into turn 2. Climbed back up the order following incidents up ahead, eventually ending up 12th. Followed a train of cars battling for 7th, but couldn't gain any more ground by the end. It was a treat to compete against Super GT for the first time, and after rewatching his stream of the race, he did tremendously well to finish 4th from 10th on the grid.

Sought to improve my qualifying time right after the race, pulling off a 2:31.679 - nearly two-tenths up on Super GT's best time. Attempted Race C again, starting 9th and immediately getting into the mix at the tail end of the top 10. Got sucked off again, this time while trying to leave room on the outside of turn 1, dropping me way down the order. Recovered to pull myself into a four-way battle for 12th place, which eventually turned into a two-way duel for 14th between myself and a Dutchman. Despite being rammed by another Brit at Degna 2, I keep pressuring the Dutch driver right until the end, all while gaining places through other players' penalties. 13th would be my end result this time round.

Even with my DR taking a knock, the battles and draw with Super GT were worth the effort, I think. Hope to fit in a few more MX-5 races later this week.

The next race was much better, still bumpy at times but a lot of fun as well. It’s harder to gain positions even in the entry level rooms, this is a whole new world over here, I like it! I can definitely see racing in EU improving my racing skills over time, I would have never expected this to happen in an E/B room in NA. :)

Finished 4th overall and even got a clean lap in to steal the FL for the race. I might do a couple more later, taking a break for now. The full race is uploading now, it was a really fun race, lots of action. :)

The pole-sitter in that race is also a popular YT streamer from the states, and I believe he's a co-founder of CnF along with Z28. Not nearly as famous as Super GT, but I bet he was also streaming at the time.

U guys ever screw up in a race because of notifications popping up on the screen? Yesterday at Tokyo, I had a pop up that said someone liked one of my activities, and my eyes look up like "Oh, what's this". That was right about the time I was supposed to start braking, but because of the distraction, I ended up with a bunch of tire screeching and a crash.

I also get the PSN friend messages and server maintenance notifications during races. Any way to shut messages off during a race?

Dude, I'm so spamming you with messages now :D

I should have listened to the warnings. I wanted to jump into a "fun" race. Widowmaker on one of my favorite Toyko layouts? Sign me up. Then I had a bright idea to make things even more "fun"...let's try a no quali, last to first challenge.

Despite running low 1:52s in 3 attempts I picked up 5s penalties each race. The first attempt was an honest misjudgment of where to brake for the last chicane. The other 2 were all due to random drivers in front braking at what seemed to be the 500m signage at every turn. Doing my best to avoid carnage I was not able to successfully obtain first.

I wanted to stop, but the challenge was just too tempting. SR 99 > 64. Upon realizing that I would ultimately reset my 65k DR with one more go I jumped into Race B to repair my DR. 3 races. 3 wins. 18 SR gained.

Tonight I will run Race B and C until I get back to 99 SR and then like a complete fool I will go into Race A again and try one more time...

I see you're a glutton for punishment.

Yeah. I suspect with over 8000 races, he must have all his children on rotation playing in shifts. I also calculate that he must have around 200 children. :sly:

Maybe he's Catholic?
