I'm seeing packs of cars up the front. Pit at the same time or running together no stop. I'm trying to switch it up to keep my distance. Let cars pass. Give room. All my normal stuff. Seeing lots of mistakes too. Not intentional punts, but little mistakes.
 
Whaaaaa! I'm really missing not being able to race this week :grumpy:. Next time someone asks me to poke a hose back so that they can close a cover over a bench grinder made from 6mm steel plate, so they can drop said cover on my finger once hose is tucked inside, I'm saying 🤬 no!!!!!

This weeks B and C are mocking me :rolleyes:.
 
Soooo, once again best strategy for race C is a no-stop, it seems. What are the top choices for qualifying and racing so far? Many thanks!

Bonus question: I've never tried the FIA races, do you guys feel they are any different? (Cleaner or not, how's the matchmaking etc)

No stopping the Porsche seemed like a strong strategy. I won with something like a 14 second gap. The last few laps the gap was so big I was coasting
around just to make sure I didn't make any mistakes. Short shifting and didn't touch the fuel map all race was enough to get it home. Tyres were fine.

At this early point I'm definitely stopping for fuel so far.
Seen a few Lambo's win and Porsche looking good in the results as well.
As @05XR8 said, a lot of people struggling to get a grip on the race so far. Pretty messy out there.

@GOTMAXPOWER wow, that video was nasty :scared: Turning into you under braking for T1 on lap 2, literally parking it on the apex (:lol:) on lap 8, going for the lunge of the millennium into the final chicane... Disgraceful. What bothers me the most is that he has pace, he was fast enough to put it on pole, yet he blew the opportunity to win just to piss you off :ouch: What a tool. Congrats @Bivittavus88 on P2 in that race btw, and good job reaching A :cheers:

That is what I was getting from the video. That person has got to be much younger than me & hasn't learned that you can't win them all (& certainly not by penalizing yourself)

Also tried my hand with a couple of Race Bs. First one, started 10th, finished 8th. Could have been better, but I bumped a couple of guys off accidentally & one off on purpose. Oddly, the one I meant to dump didn't fly off the track, so no penalty. :p Second race, much better, but I spun the car out twice.

The question is, is it BoP'd again? If so, that's a very lame Race A, IMO

To hell with the gr4 Lambo, the big heavy FR V8s are seriously quick in DTS qualy.
They really fly through the bus stop in particular.
Would recommend to a friend.

Last time it was GR4 at DTS I had a lot of success with the Bugatti. However, I am not sure how it would be with Fuel, being that this is Race C.

Did I see someone mention the Porsche is doing well? I haven't seen the Cayman be competitive in ages.

I've only tried the Porsche but I've seen the NSX used to no stop and that seemed even stronger. The Ferrari might be worth a punt?
The FIA format is very different with the 10 minute qualifying session. For the most part, I've found them very clean with a few exceptions. It does seem that people take them a little more seriously than the daily races. You should give them a go.

There is some truth to this. The problem in my eyes is that they've made the races too short, so driving flat out and pitting for fuel/tyres is never viable so you do often get a train of cars tiptoeing around as carefully as they can. There are still the odd sprint races where tyres and fuel don't come into it though.

I could've edited this to make myself look like a saint but this is more honest.



I probably could've done a better job avoiding the Alfa and Gulf Porsche when they had their moments ahead of me and I could've tried taking the chicane on more of the laps but I don't think I was the worst driver in the race.

That's what I fear, and same reason that I am not very fond of race C.

PD needs to realise that a x20 multiplier does not make a 10-lap race equivalent to a 200-lap one. There is simply not enough race to recover the time lost pitting, so the meta always shifts to extreme fuel/tyre saving strategies.
 
Well I started 2nd. I fell to 3rd. Mid race I got up to 2nd. P1 pitted at the end of lap 5 so I kept going to pit at the end of lap 6. At lap 9 I messed up the final turn and p2 caught up. Final lap I went too aggressive and spun out on that turn before the end of S1. I fell back to 4th. 3rd was moving slow so I passed him after the death chicane and finished 3rd.

They should just have a weekly "endurance" race. 20 laps, run once an hour. Make the payout being something significant as well.
 
Just did a no stop with the NSX on DT. Did not qualify and went from 15th to 2nd doing it. It took a lot of fuel saving to make that happen, had to change fuel modes down to 3 or 4 for a few laps after everyone pit, which is something I rarely like doing.

Edit:
Did the same in the following race, went from 16th to 3rd by no stopping. I was more conservative this time with short shifting and I still had to change my fuel mode.

These are in mixed DR A/B emea lobbies btw. Not quite convinced it’s the fastest strategy yet.

I did this with the default TCS3 and I have been wondering whether I need to turn it down/off to go faster. Anyone had similar thoughts?

Each step down on TCS is about a half second lap time improvement.... after you learn the throttle control necessary to not power slide off the exit of ever corner. I'm running TCS2 and have tried TCS1. At my (advanced) age I may never reach TCS off (reaction times too slow) but if you can it's worth the effort of being a bit slow and losing a few CRB bonuses during the learning curve.
