That would be nice, but where is the confirmation? I think no one knows yet.

It’s in the other thread about the live event. There is also an article on the main page, it showed SPA being used at the live event. :)

I honestly wish they'd bring in the two tyre option for Race Cs

I can't even put into words how infuriatingly boring it is when you go into Race C and the best strategy is a no-stop, therefore you get all the try hards doing no-stops.

It just completely zaps the fun out of the race immediately because you're only left with about 3 people to actually race with throughout the race.

There's no doubt stopping for tyres/fuel is the most fun way to play, because it enables you to be far more racey at all stages of the GP except for the stop itself.

There's a reason F1 changed up the rules to force pit stops, because the majority of fans were getting bored as hell with no stops...

why can't GT just give us the option of two tyre compounds each week? Maybe mediums & softs (assuming that mediums would do a full race distancebut at a slower pace) .

Not only would it introduce better strategies that don't necessarily disadvantage people that want to stop, but it'd also bring a bit of balance for controller users, seen as the tyre wear for controller users is drastically worse than it is for wheel users.

Were you h

were you hit or did you lose the rear end?

smashed up the derriere from behind... i think 2 cars back hit the car behind me who then hit me. Great how they just carry on driving and i ended up 20 seconds behind

You're really not having much luck with that corner, are you?

i know... and yet a few days back i was thinking i'm really enjoying this race C, I don't what all the fuss is about with people getting punted off :lol:

Looking at this thread https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gran-turismo-sport-fuel-consumption-list-tire-usage.372334/

I'll be trying the 4C, Viper, 458, Genesis, Atenza, and 86.

Well, maybe not all of them. Mostly interested in running the 86, Atenza, and Genesis.

Yeah I hate the first lap. People don’t take it easy. The race is long.

Agreed. I always drive very carefully on lap one. If someone looks a little racey, I'll let them past. I'll catch up in a lap or two, anyway.

I basically agree with what you are saying, but is running what works out to be the fastest strategy being a try hard? If the faster strategy was to do a pit stop, would everyone who pitted be a try hard?

Like I said, I basically agree and I also would hope that either strategy would work out competitive so that you see a mix of strategies, but calling people try hards for using the fastest strategy grates on me! And yes that's because I've been no-stopping all week, and it's worked out very well for me :)

I have no problem with races that you can run and win by not stopping. Minding your pace, fuel and tyres is fun and can lead to great races. Some of my best and proudest moments on Sport mode are in those races, where just by sheer discipline I could get to win a race that I simply wouldn't otherwise, or when I got to a crazy three car battle at the end (was it Suzuka? It's always Suzuka, isn't it?) where nobody could really step on it to win because of the fuel. Or crazy races where I didn't bother with qualifying and still got to the podium. It can be really rewarding.

The problem is when doing races no-stop is the only way to go, week after week, track-car combo after track-car combo. You have to strike a balance where people who like to micromanage tyre comsumption are as competitive as the people going for stops. And you simply can't do this with races that lasts for 25min, because whoever decides to go for stops simply won't have enough time to catch up, or widen a gap.

If they simply refuse to make at least the Race C longer (35 mins would do), at the very least, they should make things more diverse: on one week a no-stopper is the way to go, the other stopping is pretty much mandatory due to extremely high tyre and fuel depletion and so on.

I don't see rain coming to sport mode, to be honest. It's so much more for the PS4 to process, graphically. I think rain is going to be limited to the Time Trials.

True, but at the previous GTS event at Nords in June, weren't there races at Red Bull Ring in the wet?.......Fingers crossed we can race somewhere in the wet stuff, maybe limited to the "Race As", only 12 cars run in that normally, so not so much for the old PS4 lady to process.

True. But, they'll be using the highest spec PS4 available. Game updates have to cater to people with the lowest spec consoles (that'll be me). I've no doubt that the higher spec consoles could run the rain pretty smoothly. But, I think it would kill mine

That said, they managed it on older consoles. So, who knows . .

"Cars don't have quickshifters. So, has to be a clutch. I'll just lift, and shift."

My Camaro has an A/M trans with paddle shifters. I use AT mostly around town, but the MT is great for passing on the interstate and the occasional need for speed on the street. Which I would never do. ;) The CPU does the work for you and won't let you downshift if you going to fast. GTS left out that crutch, so yeah brake first.

I agree. I feel the weekends would be a good time to implement longer races, say maybe 45-50 mins. Another thing I feel would spice up the Race C would be multi-class racing. They have it in some of the Challenge events. I know people will argue that there a lot of inpatient drivers, but it is way endurance racing works IRL. And PD is trying to imitate FIA racing, sooooo.

If racing in the rain is something like fm6 then it will be fun but hard on SR. If it's anything like David Perel's video from Monza, then I think I will pass....

Imagine the lawsuits if PS4s started going bang all around the world for a bit of rain!!

But it could support the release yesterday of that shot of the S2000 in the rain at RBR.....It could be the "Race A" from the first Monday in September.....Time will tell. ;)

See, if I was American, or had driven a car with an auto box, I'd have been sorted  My only experience with full throttle shifts prior to GT Sport, was on bikes fitted with quickshifters. Side note, I have very little interest in cars, outside of gaming.

Love car racing games, can't stand watching car racing. Can't stand bike racing games, love watching bike racing. Provided it's production based, anyway.

Aaaand, that reminds me. After nearly 14 years of driving, I drive my first ever auto, next week. Well, DSG. But its basically the same. Auntie's new boyfriend says I can take his Stage 2 Golf R for a blast.

I got my license in 1982. I have, before and since, driven manuals, autos, unsynchronized 14 gear lorry's, tracked vehicles, both manual and auto, bikes and so on and so on.
I don't think I have ever made a full gas gear change on anything else than autos....
