I just don't like that people use one account to be dirtier or whatever which falsely keeps their other accounts higher rated. If you want to use one for another region I'm ok with that but I think the ratings should be averaged for the profile rather than one dirty one clean one supergood FIA etc... get over yourselves or "git gudder" to keep your account at top R.
When you can just make another one the ratings mean NOTHING.
Others have already chimed in, but since this is somewhat of an attack on people who hold multiple accounts....here I am too.
Just because somebody has multiple accounts, it doesn't mean that they are doing it to be intentionally dirty, or to behave any differently than they would on their main account. In fact, I feel like MOST people who have a 2nd account are pretty clean drivers in general who have achieved either A/S or A+/S on their main accounts. Most of the time, what separates so-called "dirty" drivers from clean drivers is skill and the ability to control their car, not necessarily people being intentionally dirty. In addition, slow drivers often think fast drivers are dirty for outbraking them or putting their cars alongside of them when they didn't expect it, and fast drivers often accuse slower drivers of being dirty because of braking too early or cornering too slow, or simply losing control and making contact.
Personally, I created a 2nd account for a few reasons. One was to teach myself how to drive the right way, using manual transmission and no TCS....which I hadn't done on my main account and still achieved 65K DR. I could have raced that way on my main account, but at the time I was only participating in FIA races, which means I have no choice but to be in the top split lobby. Should I have entered those lobbies with the 20 best guys in my region at the time, and drove around like a pleb, possibly messing up the races of these guys who were 3-4 seconds faster than me? Maybe I should have, but I sure didn't want to do that. It would have been embarassing, but also would have taken a spot away from somebody else who wanted to be there and could have performed better.
Second reason for an alternate account is for no-qualy racing. I practice and qualify on my main account, hoping for wins and podiums, and use the alternate for fun racing and good replays, practice overtaking, etc. As someone said before, this is mainly for improvement, but also fun. Fighting my way through a pack is not something that happens often when I qualify on my main account. I have fights with the same few A+ drivers who run daily races all the time, and we usually break away from the rest of the pack on the first lap. There are many times when I am the only one, start on pole or podium, and then we basically just run a few laps alone until the race is over. If I were to run no-qualy races on my main account, my DR would be so low that when I entered FIA races I would be matched with low and mid A/S drivers instead of high A & A+, then I would dominate those races and people would complain that I was sandbagging to get wins and FIA points....like some already do.
So the problem here is that the matchmaking is different in FIA compared to dailies, because so few A+ drivers participate in dailies anymore. For me, it has nothing to do with ego, and when my DR is high enough to sacrifice some points and still stay at a level that puts me in the top split FIA lobbies, I run no-qualy on my main account too, as I did last week. If you were to check the stats on both of my accounts, you'll see that my SR stays in the "S" range for the most part....with some small exceptions here and there, but that is happening less and less lately, since I'm improving. The only major difference is that my DR is significantly lower on my 2nd account because of all the races starting in the back. For reference, my 2nd account is ash_o_333. Was very near a DR reset last week, and that was because I decided to sacrifice some SR in order to punt a very dirty driver I encountered, twice. I would have done that on my main or alternate, no hiding here. In fact, I even plan to change my greeting on the 2nd account to say what my main name is, just haven't remembered to do that yet.
So, to counter what you said about a 2nd account rendering ratings useless....I'll go ahead and say they are useless anyway, except for the points I mentioned about FIA matchmaking. If you're not going to make it to a live event, what's the point of caring other than having fun races with people that are of a similar skill level? Matchmaking is what keeps most of us coming back to sport mode, so I'm ok with wanting to preserve the best part of the game for my main account, and you really should be too because it affects you in literally zero ways. If somebody is going to be dirty, they are going to be dirty, no matter the account. There may be a few exceptions, but the number of people creating 2nd accounts just to be anonymously dirty has got to be minimal.
