So I had a major episode a week or so ago where my SR and DR ranked right down to the basement. Now I’m stuck racing with the C and D drivers.

No other word to describe it. It’s literally mind blowing how bad and stupid people are. Like, I can’t believe there are that many people who buy a racing game, who are so clueless. My stats say I’m right at the community average right now....if THIS is what the average GT player is capable of, the Sport Mode doesn’t stand a chance in hell of maintaining itself over time. There’s no way in hell that the average CoD, or FIFA gamer is THIS bad. It’s like people picking up a NBA2K19 and not knowing that dribbling is an essential part of the sport. Even the people who try to be dirty do so in super low IQ ways, and usually screw themselves over more than the person they were trying to race against.

Also the penalty system continues to be a complete joke, getting massive penalties for minor incidental contact, while getting no penalty for launching people to the moon.

If your DR rating is down too you can always run a few races where you just park off the race line until you are behind all, then go around the race in a safe way. That will rise your SR fast, then you can run for the DR afterwards

This week it’s pushing me away from the game again. 3 laps in a row I get hit from the rear in turn 1 on de RBR getting me 1-2 sec penalties. I even dropped to SR A.
I’ve seen drivers making light contact on purpose by braking to late and then going wide a bit in turn 1.

Also what’s the point of the warm up sessions before sport mode races?

The Lambo has the legs on the straight, but the Jag isn’t too far behind. It’s not a slug like the Impreza or Evo or others.

Cars I’ve seen near the top of the pile for Race C are the Lambo, Bughatti, Viper, Mustang, Jag, and Merc.

Edit. I started from the back and finished 3rd. I was the first car he closed into the wall at the start.

That's a record with the new system for sure! Before the penalty zones I have seen people finish with over a minute in penalties on Tokyo. The penalty time started counting up at some point if you don't serve it above a certain amount, but you could still reach the finish before getting dq'd for ignoring penalties.

Of course with the harsh system we had before 30 sec penalties in one lap wasn't that rare in lower SR races, but also easily scrubbed during the rest of the race. The walls were a lot more sensitive and 10 sec for a rear tap was common.

Interesting to see PD actually prepared for this and has the car come to a full stop

The Jag is good, and rapid enough to keep up with the Lambo & Bugatti. Front tyres do go off a little on the last lap, but that may just be my driving style.

The Jag is solid around Race C.

Well, I agree, it's not racing. But neither is being bumped, pushed and dive bombed. And you pay a price for doing it this way, your DR drops like a stone, so not many high SR does it I think that the ones racing hard then stopping just before the finish line to avoid getting higher points so they can stay in an easier bracket are far worse.

C race:
My first mistake was being in the Veyron, and I finally learned this the hard way.

Nicely done! I reminds me of a race from a while back, I jumped into a race at Tokyo and ended up with 1 minute and 6 seconds in penalties, and then got DQ’d before finishing the first lap, without intentionally hitting anyone or anything.

Is there any way of capturing over 15 mins of gameplay or do I need to fast forward parts of races to get the total time down below the 15 mins? I've been trying to upload my Daily Cs and have just run into this issue!

You can record up to 30 minutes, just go into your PS4 settings and you can change it to 10,15 or 30 I think?

Back to Tokyo, 7pm race, dirtier than yesterday again. What a mess. I got rammed into the wall in lap 1, received a 2 sec penalty, then punted by the traffic coming from behind, spun around, field gone. After I caught back up the first car I pass then sticks a nose in and taps the wall, 2 sec penalty again. I still made it to 11th, but SR down to 87 now, the naughty SR.S room. It surely can't be worse than the room I was just in....

What's it gonna be, crb or the express elevator down

Looking at the line-up it's probably the latter

3rd place from 16th with fastest lap. First lap was comedy but the penalty zone quickly put all the danger behind. Only 3 red ratings in that room, much better than the top SR.S room. +5 SR, back to the dirty SR.S room lol.

And confirmed, top SR.S room is worse again. The 2 that crashed me quit of course. +1 SR for that race. 90-99 SR room is a joke. One more, overtaking is addictive, plus one thing is sure, Tokyo is never boring.

I find it funny that it took me this long to finally get the full Tokyo Expwy experience this week.

I'm probably going to be an idiot and race there again later this week.

E: now that kudosprime is up again, I can see that I am still at 99 SR, and overall lost 100 DR bucks today. I escaped with a slap on the wrist!

Yep, it can be found in: Settings > Sharing and Broadcasts > Video Clip Settings.

I believe some consoles have limited options for this setting.
Although I know the PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim both have a limit of 60 mins., so I'm unsure which models don't allow or have limits on this feature.

If you press the SHARE button on your control, on the little menu that appears, second from the bottom is “Sharing and Broadcast” settings. Click on that, followed by “Length of Video Clip”, and select the length of time you want. Exact same as what Tassie_Tiger said, just a shortcut for accessing the settings menu.

My PS4 is, iirc, a “second gen” console - it’s not a launch day console, it’s the first updated console that was released, but it’s not a Slim, not a Pro - and I can record up to 60 minutes.
