so a couple of race C's last night with y'all across the pond and the SR is rising...

If by rising you refer to a negative rise :crazy:. You are obviously a dirty driver leaving a trail of carnage in your wake! You should stop braking in brake zones... clearly braking where you should be is brake checking :dunce:. And that practice you have of being a guard rail for other drivers is also clearly dirty :p.

Once you've exhausted the Circuit Experience and Mission Challenges, the best earner I've found is Professional League - All Japan GT Car Championship @ 200K per race.

Redbull la Sarthe for me. 230k and its only a few seconds over 8mins. 👍
 
Relaxed morning drive on the Nord today. I started 7th, better than 4th yesterday, mixed field of SR.S and SR.A down to DR.D of course. Nobody went off track so I actually had to overtake. I managed to gain 4 positions, not bad. Nice clean race. There was only one red rating at the end and very few red dots. Such a difference with later in the day.
 
@Kiki_Haoru : Annoyingly I'm getting disconnected very regularly too but it's not an outright kick from the network where you have to log off or even kick start your LAN / Wi-Fi connection. Assuming it's the same issue as you are experiencing, if you just close the dialogue box saying you are kicked and re-enter the race it let's you rejoin. I've managed to get kicked while the countdown was about to expire and still make it on to the grid.

And for me, that's back in "insane" performance on a DS4 with nearly 60 year old reflexes = no fun ;)
I'd rather go for the 200K with the possible bonuses for slow car and clean race.

I use a DS4. On la Sarthe it's less about reflexes and more about rhythm... and rally cross. The Redbull X2014 has awesome off road capability.. when you hit the chicanes at 365kph ;).

Oh that's interesting! I'll try that next time. It's the same for me : It's not really a failure from my internet access, as I am connected through cable and none of the PSN services are interrupted.

On another note, what cars are worth trying around la Sarthe this week?

I suffer from a similar problem, it doesn't disconnect, but I go into a race with five green bars, I have five green bars during warm-up and countdown, but as soon as the race starts I have one red bar.

That's where the reaction time comes in. Even as a youngster I was never quick, not being quick I've got no hope of catching those extreme cars in slides or controlling them in drifts.

I do like my Gr.2 RC-F though :D

2x race A:
1. Start P5, finish P7 after fighting back from P12 (last). Mega punt at turn 6 on L1 put me to the back.

2. Start P8, finish P6. Got dive bombed by the entire back of the field (12 cars in the race) at T1 but came out of the turn at P11 due to P3 being somewhere out in the sand trap. CRB.

Total for the day, DR -13, SR even.

er.... yeh, i got the DR / SR the wrong way round... my DR is rising nicely and SR on a slippery slope.... i'm just pure filth behind the wheel :mad:
 
First trip round thr ring went pretty good. Started 3rd had a couple names i trust in the top 5 and one i know is borderline agressive/dirty. Sure enough, the front half was clean fast driving for the top 4 to pull away, down the back half i watched from 3rd the "dirty" driver make a couple questionable moves after i was lucky enough to know his style and just let him through at the top of the hill, i knew he would go for the questionable pass so i just left room. I am sorry i don't know the names, bad memory for some reason lol. He finally just pushed the guy in second off at the little bridge and got a 3 sec penalty when the other guy bounced off the wall. It was just me and the victim at the end, he got me down the straight so i just tucked in for a crb second

Race two was almost boring lol started in 2nd and played follow the leader the whole time. @Sven Jurgens was in that one. Made a good run it looks like

I'm not going anywhere near Nurburg this week... The track limit penalties are bad enough at Sarthe, I can only imagine what it'd be like at Nurburg, & at least with Sarthe there's less chance of mistakes once you're in the groove.

Nurburg is just way easier to make silly mistakes and pay big for them, and then you throw other people into the mix? hell nah

Plus Autopolis is my bogey track, no matter what I do with that track it just doesn't feel like it flows for me like Suzuka.

Race C is a solid race for the week though, the right car group for that track and provided you stay out of trouble early you'll probably get a bunch of places back from people getting track limit penalties.

The Lancer is surprisingly agile around the Nurb. Sure, the track limits are strict and the 0.5 penalty comes reaaaally easily, but it's also very easy to do a decent race while keeping it on the road.

As long as you get t1 and t2 right in Autopolis the rest just flows. Miss t1 and you fall way behind,miss T2 and the following 4 turns becomes trouble. Nail it and the rest flows better than the esses on Suzuka.

I agree, just got to make sure you don’t get punted in T1 or the hairpin. Got 2 out of 3 races clean there both went from 8 to finish in 3rd. My last race I think I got punted at either of those corners 3 out of 4 laps.

The positive while trying to get enough CR to get a Gr.1 car, I actually won one as my daily gift.
 
Having some nice races on the ring. The front runners are being clean and smart. Glad my qt is good enough to be amongst them, although the back field seems 50/50 red dots at the end of the race.... dr is going up, hope i can keep this going through the week.
 
Weirdly, the TS050 seems easier to drive after the tires wear down a bit. My fastest laps are usually 4 & 5. The thing's just too twitchy for my liking. It gets squirrly when you let off the brake, and when you accelerate from a low speed, if you wheels aren't pointed straight.
That being said, it's improved a lot since they fixed some things on it.

But, I think I'm done with that car.

The LM55 slides a little more, but is completely predictable, and way more manageable for me. More fun to drive, too.
I'll just focus on going as fast as I can in the Mazda. 👍

*Might try some laps in the Peugeot 908, also. Last time we did this race, I remember feeling pretty good in that one, too.

le Sarthe is where the first acts will all die. Out of the air into despair that's how this circus survives...Yes you perverse, pustulent people, the killer klowns have landed. The LZ is under the big top that is Race C. So step right up folks and enjoy the show. The carnage has begun!

I qualified a second faster with the Merc. That had me scraping the barrel with the miscreants in P14/19, P2 amongst the DR/Ds with DR/Bs and a few Cs in front. You know things are never going to end well when DR/Bs are involved :rolleyes:.

Race starts, auto drive dumps us even further into the chicane than yesterday, and a couple of people spun out on the orange sausage. I slip by and start short shifting, and sit back watching the chaos at Dunlop unfold. I quietly slipped through, made it round the esses and Tertre Rouge, and thought I was on track for a good run, when I braked for the first Mulsanne chicane, and the guy behind me didn't :crazy:. Had to dig my way out of the kitty litter! Down to P19 for me :banghead:.

I was slowly climbing back up again when I was behind an Audi E tron who suddenly decided to brake for no apparent reason. Don't know if it was a brake check or if they just stuffed up, but they were splashed to the four winds when I slammed into them. Orange SR and a 3s contact penalty for me. On the last lap I was running on fumes, expecting to run out at any moment as I approached Porsche. I think I might have just been able to squeak though, but the race timed out. I finished P13. I tried to apologise to the Audi, but they had already left.

SR dropped by 1, DR dropped by 42. Another day above DR 1 :odd:.

The last time they had this combo I dropped all the way to DR C because my SR went too low and reset me to DR C...purely because the track limit penalties pushed me back into the group, which subsequently meant dealing with the BS of being mid-pack.

This time I've just kept it way cleaner.

The first race was a nightmare though, dropped all the way to 62 SR, so probably close to being C, but then tidied everything upand managed to get back up to 90/99 SR and bring my DR upto 42K.

I think it'll be a good race for me all week with a good qualifying putting me on the front or near to it, because the speed of the Toyota at the start is such that I can get a solid gap after those first 5 or 6 corners and not be as vulnerable on the straights in the first lap.

Might switch to the 908 though because I prefer the 1 stop strategy to the no-stop (even though the nostop is the advantageous strategy)..I just think it's a weak strategy, that discourages actual racing. So if I'm going to 1 stop anyway, might as well use one of the powerhouse cars like the 908.

Yup, it's way more often that I think how did I not get a penalty there. Same watching other cars skip whole bends in the track and escape without a penalty. Some places are pretty strict though, inconsistent as those are not the places where you gain time by going wide. It can be frustrating, going wide to avoid the car sliding in front of you and get 0.5 sec while already losing time.

Sarthe is only tricky at Indianapolis with the invisible limits there. The rest of the track is easy with clear lines. And talk about inconsistencies, 0.5 sec hardly hampers you at all on Sarthe, on Nord it's the difference between gaining or losing a place on the straight.

I don't think I agree with Sarthes 0.5 penalties not hampering you, the one at the first straight does.

Basically any penalty zone that is on a long straight will hurt you for more than the actual penalty time, because of the speed difference to the other cars.

a 0.5 penalty at Sarthe on that first straight, costs you more than 0.5, as opposed to the awesome penalty zone at Sardegna at the top of the hill, which basically cost you nothing because it was already in a braking zone anyway.

I've had such a blast blowing by the Audi's and Toyota's in the Peugeot at Le Sarthe .In fact have found myself not even interested in winning the race :lol:

the 908? I was thinking about switching to this (from the toyota) just because of the speed of that thing, but how does it do with fuel? I'd probably pit at lap 3 anyway, but just wanted to absolutely blast round with full speed for most of the race.

I think it used to be that it would only change to A, once your SR was A or above.

I'm not sure if thats still the case, but I assume until you get your sportsmanship up, you won't get the DR rating that you actually are.

I think this only happens when you're going from a lesser DR & into A DR... so for instance if you're already A DR but your sportsmanship drops to B, you still retain your A DR rating until you hit C SR and then you get a DR reset to 15K.
