Used both s(e)xes real quick. Did good in the Genesis and M4. May as well call me the Ghost Rider. Made up some places in the Genesis by going through cars still in Ghost mode. Got that 5th place from a 4C that caught grass and another one ghosting two corners from the finish.

I played last night, first race on a new 65" screen. Besides from it going very dark in the shaded part it was good. But twice I put my left rear in the grass braking to Sheen, both times spinning into the gravel. Then getting reset in mid pack...
Got one pole, but as always when on pole I get nervous and bottle it.

Make sure that shiny new screen is set to "Game Mode" or similar. I had a hell of a time when I first got GT5 playing on a 40" then due to space issues switched to a 23" and did a lot better. When I went back to the 40" I realized what the difference was... latency in the TV. The 40" was doing a lot of image smoothing and other processing, which meant the picture was about 25 - 40ms behind my control inputs. Doesn't seem like much but it made a lot of difference to my accuracy on braking and turn in points. Setting it to game mode dropped most of the processing and made it a lot better, but the 23" is still quicker and is what I play on.

Yes, perhaps due to lack of Pole Position experience I too prefer follow and not lead. Even when I take the lead after a start in 2nd or 3rd I get nervous. I guess if I was faster (git gud) then I'd be more used to it. As for the 65"...bloody show off.

I always do hot laps in between races, you can then possibly lower your Q times and it also keeps everything fresh in your mind for the start of the next race. I typically end up getting my best results when I hot lap between races. :)

Yeh, I had complained earlier in the week that I'd rather an extra lap. I would still prefer it but do like to hot lap between races. Even if I don't set a better Q time it certainly gets me into the groove of the track.

Amazing how accurate a players has to be when performing at a level. Those who don't play just don't get it. My head phones glitched a couple of times last night and the brief loss of sound screwed up my sense of where the engine revs were and when I needed to chance gear. It was enough to lose me that vital .250 secs each time that made the difference between driving on a car's bumper with a 1 second lead over the car behind to losing the draft and having someone all over my tail.

10 mins between races for Race B.. I hate it.
Race B is Brands Hatch right?
Imagine 10 minutes for Suzuka, a track that takes 1 minute to go through.
Waiting time for that should be 5 minutes at the most.

Also, how many lobbies do the daily races have because saturday night, I had the "pleasure" of being paired up with the same guy that rearended me to the sandpits in the first race.

Yeah, I was one to complain about wait times. I've been trying out different cars between races (good thing there's a reasonable number of Gr.4s) which has been filling out wait time nicely.

It's also been on average 9 minutes for me so slightly less. Although it doesn't change my opinion of 4 laps being too short. It definitely should had been 6. It would feel more of a race that way.

hands up if in between races you think... ok, let's try a couple of laps in the (insert low performing erratic vehicle name) and then you're so zoned in to getting a handle on the car you lose track of time and it cuts to the screen to enter the race :nervous:

I often miss the next race entry when I decide to go to the livery editor and change the paint job, in between races. :grumpy:

Having much nicer racing today. I just went a whole lap side by side with someone even, at tsukuba, i can't believe it. First race was pole to checkers and the next two was a follow the leader in 2nd with the same clean fast guys in front and behind for both.

I may have spoke to soon, the next race was bumpercars. Starting by the guy in front of me, as i was starting third now, decided not to move till i launched into his rear bumper, i tried to go around but could not move fast enough as i really was not expecting it. It was just nonesense in the middle of the pack from there. Got bumped around and ended up in 6th. Loss of about 1k dr and 15sr, ouch....

Did a Race B. QT 1:31.5. Mixed DR grid. Started 13th. Finished 12th. Clean bonus. -400 DR though. :indiff:

1/2 second improvement from yesterday got me 2 spots lower today. Thought if I could just stay pen free I could move up a few spots. But everyone else was solid.

Thinking I need another 1/2 second. Not just QT. But average lap. At least.

Probably should switch to a Megane to set a QT. Using the 86 to race, feeling real comfortable in that right now.

When I do that I usually miss the rest of the day.

Hah, you are just as sad as me. After a race last night I thought my car looked a little "off" in the post race celebration shot so I went into Livery Editor between races to change the paint colour and missed the next race.:D

I have just made a "Ramond Weil" decal to put on my Gr3 Aston Martin too. Which is daft because we're not even racing Gr3 this week.

Yes.

That's the very reason I raced in the Jag,The Lexus and the BMW yesterday...

One of the reasons we picked this screen was response in game mode. The other was price compared to size.
This one is a lot faster than the 42" we had before. I think that might be what I need to adjust to.
But I have to say, sitting a meter and a half Infront of this is a fantastic experience.

I'm not really a fan of seeing Tsukuba, Maggiore Center, Tokyo Expressway Central, and Suzuka East so often for newly-added cars. As far as I know, there are many other courses that seem like they'd be good for beginners and/or slower cars, like Red Bull Ring Short, Alsace, Sardegna C, Blue Moon Bay Infield B, Autopolis Short, Maggiore East & West, Goodwood, Big Willow, Dragon Trail Gardens, or even the regular Brands Hatch GP layout.

Another one that I like for slow cars is Kyoto Miyabi. It's a pretty simple track, but fun for N200 or N100.

After another stupid race i decided to just run some laps. I enjoy this combo way to much considering how sick i am of the track... but the races i am getting mostly are not good.

I managed to trim my time and pass @sturk0167 on my friends list. I think i can still improve a little but i dont believe i can hit below a .3xx

I wonder if I need to upgrade my TV? I probably won't. I really hate buying new things. But I guess I should know. Can anyone tell if my old TV is good enough?

I don’t really know anything about TV’s, I’m still running an old “no name” brand TV that only does 720, it doesn’t even have a Game Mode, but it seems to work just fine for the purpose. :D

Nothing more beautiful than getting yourself into the track, doing good practice laps.
Then, come race time, some dweeb pushes you into the sand pits or you screw up the first corner.
