Oh my... First run in Grûne hölle.. In warm-up I changed the fuel map to 2 and away we went. Several A players non q in the back, so I held aside when people came fast up. Except one, he was right behind me in a series of turns and I expected him to pass once we where through. But nooo. He spun me off to get past in the turns
Now down to 16 I was still relatively confident I could make up a few spots if someone pitted. On the looong long straight I checked my fuel. FM 1, 0.8 lap remaining....
So I had to refuel. Ended up p14.

There’s something I don’t really get. When are certain drivetrains better? At Mt. Panorama, I usually saw FF cars, and at Big Willow, I mostly have been seeing FR cars. I know the idea behind how braking, weight distribution with the engine placement, and which wheels have power can affect how drivetrains can differ, but I’m still not sure why it’s mostly FR cars here while it was mostly FF cars on some other courses, with Interlagos making MR cars seem like the most popular.

I would imagine that the first factor to examine would be the amount of relatively tighter turns vs straights (or very broad turns) in a course. Could it be that it’s because Big Willow doesn’t have many long braking zones? Whereas Mt. Panorama has the second turn, the last two turns, as well as the turn before the descending section? That could explain Interlagos, too, as there’s only two turns like that: the first turn, and the turn after the initial esses, past the pit exit.

I'd suggest a link to the YouTube stuff when you make the report with a brief, to the point description of the behaviour and leave out the emotional stuff. Include region, which race, and if you have the information, time of race. Moderators just don't have time for an incoherent rant, believe me... I've done the job for ten years on a very busy international forum.

Appreciate your reply. The videos are short and to the point and so would my report be.

Just the problem that it cannot be done like you write. It has to be within the game. And there is no way to find him there unless you have him on your friend list.

I drew a blank on the GT website you can only report the player name and avatar graphics..

So I have to meet him in a race..

Piss poor support system.

In my opinion, your last sentence is the reason why. Most of the turns at Willow are high-speed, where you're on the throttle. Better to have oversteer than understeer in those cases. At Big Willow, I would much rather go too low in a turn, that too high. :scared:

It was nice to see you at race B this morning. 👍 I don't see you in my races very often.

It's much more effective to report him to Sony. He is clearly in violation of the EULA. He will be under friends, known players, the race. It's listet with time and track so it's easier to find. Then just do as he said to report.

Did some laps in the honda , got down to a 1.04.373 it's a fun little car but i a little sick of the track tbh. On to willow got a handful of laps before stating the first race. It went rather nicely, went from 8 to 6 from to other guys mistakes, otberwise it was follow the leader for the whole field. Second race i messed up going off track a couple times. Gonna try one more before work..... qt is 1.17.317 currently. @Pigems is .397 @sturk0167 is 17.047 great time man! I need to figuer a couple things out but i think sub 17 should be do-able

This was something I don't see very often. I'd had no interaction with the driver in front of me until this point. Get a run on them on the straight and move to the inside. I get rammed off and then repeatedly brake checked. It ruined the race and was infuriating. Yes it was a SR99 lobby...

I have no idea what their problem was
Fortunately it was my second account!

Got to run now, did too many races this morning. My DR is already back to where it was before lowering it to 1, and yup have been punted already as a result. Best lap in the SLS AMG is also slower as last time, but not as much as the Lexus suffered. So far -6 sec for the Lexus and -3 sec for the SLS AMG compared to last time.

06:30 S15 F04 8:35.779 SR 99 DR 01079 No Stop, Lexus RC F 17, 3 sec penalty from spinning car
07:00 S15 F03 8:33.784 SR 99 DR 02362 No Stop, Lexus RC F 17, FL, CRB.
07:30 S17 F03 8:34.067 SR 99 DR 05526 No Stop, Lexus RC F 17, FL, tapped from behind, bumped off
08:00 S14 F08 8:48.486 SR 93 DR 06234 No Stop, Lexus RC F 17, 2 penalties from dumb overtake attempts
08:30 S16 F05 8:33.491 SR 99 DR 07786 No Stop, Lexus RC F 17
09:00 S15 F02 8:29.628 SR 99 DR 09324 No Stop, Lexus RC F 17
09:30 S13 F04 8:35.279 SR 99 DR 11833 No Stop, Lexus RC F 17, nose barge pass T1
10:00 S13 F02 8:30.689 SR 99 DR 13309 No Stop, Lexus RC F 17
10:30 S11 F02 8:33.241 SR 99 DR 14432 No Stop, SLS AMG, FL
11:00 S15 F07 8:37.270 SR 98 DR 14982 No Stop, SLS AMG, Rammed off to last in first NGP section, 2 sec penalty, stuck behind car lap 2
11:30 S08 F03 8:35.044 SR 99 DR 15833 No Stop, SLS AMG, punted in T1 to last, went off lap 2
12:00 S17 F03 8:28.919 SR 99 DR 17237 No Stop, SLS AMG, CRB, barge passed off in lap 1 penalty system worked

Yikes, bloodfirsty first race at N24. I got denied 9th place from someone who crashed at Döttinger Höhe then proceeds to block me after unghosting before the finish line and pushes me into the pit wall, I spin out and finish 12th. :banghead: I guess 9th place really meant that much. Very sad and embarrassing.

Michael Schumacher would have been proud of that one! ;)

In seriousness, we should be able to expect that wouldn’t happen in a field of SR S drivers.

I started playing this game almost exactly a year ago, and out of 582 entries, I've won 16 races. Three of those were just today on Daily Race C.

There seem to be a lot of factors working in my favor, but this is crazy. Half the entries don't qualify, but even then, by the time I hit the main Nordschleife, no one can keep up. And then I build up a ten second lead by the end first lap, and almost everyone pits for fuel, so I'm somehow pulling away while short-shifting throughout the entire race.

I'm not sure how long this anomaly will last throughout the week, but I'm at least satisfied that I've been able to run very clean races at 24h, because there used to be a time when I couldn't complete a single lap of the Nordschleife without ****ing up.

I had a few laps at the Willow today, 1:17.8xx. Last time here, 1:17.5xx. I’m going to target sub 1:17 this week. Will take lots of practice though.

Well when you first don't succeed, try again. Second race I was hoping for the blocker to appear :mischievous:, sadly, he didn't. I raced more aggressively (penalty system seems to encourage that, after all) since the last race left me with bad taste.

Other than being unable to avoid the unavoidable at Hocheichen (Out of control car across the track, what are you supposed to do...Ghost your own car? 2s for tapping him off), my race went smoothly this time with breathing room in between cars for most of the race after L1.

I finished 7th from 19th in the 4C. Almost 6th except I lost it at Schwalbenschwanz.

That has nothing to do with display latency. Display latency comes after your online lag, it's simply the time it takes for a frame to be rendered and then to appear on your screen. The game is already rendering the frame with outdated information.

So if you're racing someone with 150ms ping, while you have 40ms ping to the server (broadband test is useless since it simply selects the best server for the best test results). That's 75ms for his data to get to the server and another 20ms to arrive on your system.

Then the game does it updates and renders the frame. It's a 60 fps game, so 16.7 ms per frame. However it rarely syncs up with transmission and most games a double or triple buffered to smooth out the frame rate. Not all frames take the same time to render. About the fastest console games can output a stable frame rate is at about 50ms latency since the last input was measured.

Now add the display latency on top of that, if outside game mode, that's 90ms.

So when you're racing that particular person, his last recorded actions happened 95 + 50 + 90 = 235 ms before you see it.
Thats correct.. As soon I posted it and recogized my mistake. So I couldnt delete it. So sorry... Wasnt think twice before I write down lol. Again sorry.

Wow. Thanks. That surprises me, because usually by this time on Mondays my times plummet down the list.

@Dairyworker, looks like you'll be in the 9s shortly. 👍

You should've seen me at race B, this morning (I did 2 races). I was a nervous wreck. :nervous: Too much coffee made me jittery, plus I was anxious from all the pressure I put on myself to do well whenever my favorite track comes to the dailies. I couldn't get over the feeling that I was gonna blow it and send myself to last place at any moment. I was kinda glad I had to turn it off and go to work, before trashing my primary account.

What car are you using?

I did a race in the M3... it was fun, but it seems a bit thirsty.. i had someone on my tail, gaining fast, when he got to close i turned it to MIX 1 and floored the throttle.. goodbye.. my idea was to pressure him into making mistakes.. he did not :)

And the straight takes around 8% of a fuel tank at max speed...

The AMG GT3 '16. The 911 used to be my go-to but it gets eaten alive on the straight, the AMG is still pretty nimble but has decent power. I shift when the rev counter is at the halfway point for 90% of the race, except for the start and usually the finish when I have a bit excess fuel.

I forgot to mention I do this using fuel setting 1 the entire race, I typically only change the mixture when I need to save an extreme amount of fuel haha.

Don't worry, my writing style usually comes out a bit harsh, sorry :)

It's just that lag is my biggest annoyance with GTS. It's so hard to tell whether a car is over braking or lag stalling at the apex until they suddenly shoot away again. On the Americas server, nobody should be driving bumper to bumper, it's just not safe with all the lag. The most annoying part is that getting lagged bumped off by the car behind you doesn't give them a penalty, but you do get SR Down while ending up in the sand. Betrayed by your own system detecting contact, while the other system denies it.

Anyways you can get used to display latency if not too high. When I switch TV my brake points and turn in points are off for a race until I'm dialed in again to the different display latency. It's constant so just a matter of adjusting to it. Internet lag is never constant, the only constant is that you will get screwed driving in yellow bar traffic.

Oh, the itch, I need to race, no time yet. Genesis is up next for the N24. I wonder if some more people have qualified yet. I don't want to start 8th again!
Too bad there is no donate DR option, give it all away again to start last :)
Perhaps I could set a negative Q time by driving backwards (already tried )
I guess I could let my kids play on my account until I get back to it 💡:mischievous:
