I switched to race C for two races since trying to race over the mountain from the back with SR.B getting added to the lobby is simply impossible. The last one I tried the Argentinian starting in front of me was hell bent on not getting passed while not knowing how to drive the track. He ended up with 5 sec penalties after ramming me into the grass, the walls and brake checking on the straight bits, then quit at the penalty zone. My SR survived that but the field was long gone. I still caught some before the finish, even got the CRB, yet hardly any SR since points still get deducted when the other car only gets SR Down. Gaining SR on race B takes forever.

So off to race C. No stop in the Lexus. Chaos!! What a mess, never seen that many yellow flags. A no stop might be safer for the first half, yet in the second half nobody bothers to make a decent pass. Dive bump is the only way. No matter how wide the road is, contact shall be made. I must be driving a giant magnet. I finish 8th, back to SR.S.

Second race, even more chaos. Cars flying off every corner and I'm already in 8th before people start pitting. However it doesn't last. A Brazilian pit stopper wants to pass, he sets it up nicely for T1, no problem. Except for an American dive bomb Porsche coming from behind punting both of us :banghead: I get spun into the sand, lose 5 places and over 10 seconds on my lap time. Tires compromised, fuel wasted. What does he get, a blue S, no penalty, nothing. I make it back to 7th then get cleanly passed by an Argentinian and Brazilian pit stopper. The Brazilian has Respeto written on the back of his car. Respect to him, especially since when he ran out of fuel in the last lap (didn't get enough I guess) he stayed safely out of the way on the grass. I finish 8th on fumes with CRB.

Best lap of 1:23.8. Not that fast but I don't think I can keep the Ferrari going from the back. Back to the mountain after dinner!

I did finish my quick lap time assessment for GR.4. From the back without practice, just to get a quick idea of what cars I'll be concentrating on for the rest of the week. Not the Alfa 4C

Something changed with the Lexus or it was the GR.3 version that was good at Mount Panorama. It feels so unstable now in the esses. And yep, I did test the GT-R, stayed away from the FF cars though :yuck:

I like the line. Many lines might be a problem. :)
Using cones can cause dry eyes but they make eye drops for that.

@Pigems GORDINI Rally again. That was super fun!

I don't need racing lines. I'm already wired for going mental. Other people may vary. Of course, track abuse isn't a joke so be careful out there.

I guess the odd cone or two shouldn't really hurt to keep you on the straight and narrow if you're having problems keeping it on track. Its relatively mild but you will find yourself moving back down to DR 1.

I probably won't race tonight but we shall see. Have to agree with @Sven Jurgens about race C chaos, it is worse than sarthe for total chaos in the opening laps. I have pretty much been starting at the back with my QT but don't mind as I usually end up passing a few ghosts the first couple of laps. It is like people forget which version of the track they are on

Hey Pigems, remember that time you hit a moose with your car, and didn't have insurance to get it fixed.

A couple more races at Sardegna. Woof. I didn’t run particularly well in either of them, and the penalty system kicked my ass in the last race. I had people make contact trying to pass me on the outside of a corner and took 7 seconds of penalties total. I’m honestly not sure whether I’m at fault or not, but I was just racing my line.

I’m just saying it’s a pet peeve. It ends up that I don’t daily my main account unless I am top 50 or so.
Say there’s a combo I like like Interlagos gr3. I get home from work get situated crap now I gotta put in an hour or more of qual to start above say 12?
I mean I’m pretty good there. It definitely takes me time though to really nail down a lap. For a combo I am not good at now I am looking at maybe not racing for a few days.
Hence alt account.
I dunno. I don’t see what the big deal would be with having unlimited practice. Practice then qual. I just don’t see what’s wrong with that.
Daily races would by far be best as @sturk0167 mentioned.
I’m pretty much down to at this point shelving my main account just using it for liveries and friendliest since it has all the paints and wheels and stuff.
Its my problem for sure

Tbh I don't get the point of an alt account, you're just giving yourself a false sense of your pace. Just do a half dozen laps and race, enjoy the game.

On another note, gee the megane ruins group 4. I could not crack 2.15 in anything else and within 4 laps I dropped a 13.7. It's not only fast in a straight line it is very stable I tk the dipper so I can run way, way harder into there.

I narrowed my choices to "GT4" cars:

Mustang(the shape we have in game, is a real GT4 car)

M4(same as the Mustang, just doesn't have the front canards)

Cayman GT4(naturally)

I was going to try the Scirocket, but I'm making things interesting for me. Last night after the M4, I used the Cayman. It would win if the race was at Le Sarthe no chicanes(316km/h 6th gear). :)

Anyway, it's so good around corners. Smooth and none of that "MR sliiiiide" stuff.

I have two left to collect. I'm surprised you have none... you usually get one as a gift car.

I’ve has lots show up on the wheel,
but they never stop for me. I don’t play offline enough to earn the credits to get them legitimately.

I wish I could like that more than once!

I got a pretty bad time in the Cayman, mainly due to traffic. You need something that can keep up on the straights. Good around corners doesn't help with meganes ping ponging from side to side then sprinting away again :/

I've been driving the Huracan this evening, very stable and capable of catching cars on the straight. Great around corners, easy to hold an inside or outside line. The only downside is getting a bit loose when having to avoid out of control cars in the dipper. For the rest of the track, grade A+ for being able to put it exactly where I want without any wobble.

I'll revisit the Jaguar tomorrow. That was the fastest for me, see if I can push it further. I didn't get any better lap times with the Huracan, always constrained by traffic. 3 laps is so little, annoying when you have to slow down after getting the purple time splits for the first 2/3rds of the track, but that's the downside of not qualifying. The big upside, most of the Meganes are out front, don't have to worry about them lol. The B/S lobbies have quite good variety in cars, yet the Meganes still start in front and win every race.

I have to say, re Neville’s comment above, just had a nice race after putting in a 14.2 qual on alt.
@NevilleNobody
There’s really no logical reason I should care what a letter is next to my name or what not, but if I run main, it’s intense, gotta have the pace, all of it, or else I lose points.
Given how much time and effort I placed into making that account have the stats it has etc, it gets to a point I am attached to the dang thing, and dailies, I DONT KNOW WHO I AM RACING, everyone has alts, which places my good account at more risk of to be honest someone’s carelessness or stupidity, or even hate.
So, I will do FIA on favorable combos, and kick back and have a brew on the alt, and race fair and not touch anyone...
The race I just did I could post a replay. The leader ran 3 solid laps with me on his butt, not mistakes. We had a gap and final corner I had a run so I stuck my nose in and got by, but it was total bs move so I stopped he got first and I ended third...
Don’t get me wrong, I have had the vast majority of great racing on dailies, but I have also seen the dark side as well.
My time in game has been mainly driving and it’s a quite large amount of time. First driving game since ridge racer ps 1 what 25 years ago?
The main reason I switched to alt is highly suspect accounts and sinc others openly talked about it. At Mid a and higher the game toughens. There’s a certain dog eat dog to it, and I love that, but I can’t do it everyday, onl when the mood
Ask anyone I complained a lot, but when in Rome...
For an alt account the best thing for me so far is either race with friends from the back or just set a comfortable qual time and race.

Edit, one last point if I go in on main and make some stupid mistake because I am not prepared, I might ruin someone’s race who has put in just as much time as me or more and takes things more seriously than me; sometimes I don’t wanna even risk that either, knowing someone spent hours and hours practicing only for me to muck it up by entering a turn too fast indirty air or something...
Alt has got me playing more with others instead of just being a solo hotlapper trying for times.
Number one rule of online don’t hit other cars...

I have no Unicorns. :(
I could scrounge up a unicorn livery if that counts

+1 on the Cayman. Enjoyment wise it's by far my favorite car to take around the mountain. Unfortunately it just can't keep up on the straights so I always get gobbled up or dive bombed. If only it had an extra 10-15hp with BoP...

No Unicorns eh?
In 521 game days and probably 99% getting my dailiy mileage I think Ive only seen a unicorn a half dozen times and def never won one. Guys on this site were winning 'em day One and some have won multiples (more than twice). I bought the 330 over a year ago and then the Jag, also have the Daytona. Thats all from daily racing, barely done any farming.
I realliy want the Miura but dont care much about the 250 GTO
Its beautiful but I cant stand how it handles, I guess they hadnt invented limited slip diffs yet or something.

Not only that Megan goes faster on short straight. Megan is not big car like FR and MR able turn quicker at same time rev up faster. Plus hardly spin. FR and MR car usually has more speed but its tentative to drive. Like the track at Monza, no way FF car win over FR and MR cars.

Eh, race C is another cursed one for me so far this week. Tried pitting and my overall race time went down, but so did the quality of the people back in my area of the race. Dodged the savage divebomb turn 1, pushed hard wide at the sweeping left and after passing a ghost down 1 spot. Next lap, lots of crashes and ghosts, so up to 14th, pass a guy sliding hard through the downhill right, and then someone unghosting down the hill. Going great! Then I get punted hard at the hairpin right to go up the hill. Back to 18th. Guy gets a penalty but still has 3 seconds lead on me after serving it. Race ruined finish wise from there, but practiced anyway. Still ended race 14th, but had another bump and run where I thought they wouldn't send it from 0.5 back, but I was wrong. Lost position, but no other effect other than annoyance.

For whatever reason I thought it would be cleaner and more patient at sardegna rather than the crashfest at bathurst but it doesn't seem to be. At least at the back of the pack where I keep starting anyway. Looks like this week might switch to campaign mode for a bit or just keep donating DR like I have done previously, still undecided for now.

Bathurst is a really good track for me.

Did 4 races there last night. On a whim I jumped into the Megane (and it even has a livery - Renault F1, I think Ricciardo).

First one - started 3rd. Managed to go up to 2nd, only to bin it through the Chase and Murrays Corner, got overtaken on the main straight. Finished 3rd.
2nd race - started 4th. Don't really remember what happened, but ended up 5th in the end.
3rd race - started 5th. Bumped someone into the Cutting - and got a 3 sec penalty for it. Dropped to 8th at the end of the lap. Managed to make up a place, then 5th and 6th battled and I ended up 5th in the end.
4th race - started 3rd. Got up to 2nd and got a better exit on Hells Corner then the leader and overtook him on Mountain Straight going into the last lap. Only to misjudge the breaking point into Griffins Bend and he took his place back. He didn't make any mistakes the rest of the lap and I got 2nd place. Nabbed fastest lap though.

All in all, this repaired my DR somewhat - gained ca. 4500 points and I am now back to a C rating. Maybe I can get back to a B rating during the rest of the week, although races will get progressively harder from here on out. I managed these starting grid places with a 2:16:313, which is about 5 seconds of the best.

Anyways, happy with the progress so far and Mount Panorama is one of my favorite tracks.
