I understand that it may not be directed at me, but I'll give more of my opinion since it refers to a point I brought up. I understand the lack of a rear view mirror & how the mirror would be helpful. However, for as long as I've been playing racing games, some of them had no camera view other than chase cam. So, I have over 2 decades of driving from the chase cam POV. Those of us who are "experienced" enough remember playing Pole Position. Yeah, no adjustable view there. Anyway, I have become also acclimated to using the quick toggle to view behind me. But, the question you have to ask is, where do I look? If I want to cut a good line, do I watch the track or the rear view mirror for a disgruntled driver? You still have to cut the proper racing line. If the GT-R driver was such a better driver than I, he/she could have gotten around me with proper racing technique. If you watch the replay which got this whole conversation started, I had to check up in the corner prior to the contact which got me a penalty. Now, the Nissan driver already knew he/she made a mistake. They also knew that they made a mistake at the left on top of the hill. In a competitive field, your mistakes let other cars get closer. Contact was made, but in no way was it intentional. After 2 blunders, don't you think that maybe you should slow down a few feet sooner? And what shows the bad sportsmanship is his/her willingness to dive bomb someone, planning to use them as an additional set of brakes & tires.
This has taken a while to write & I went & looked at the replay. He is using a DS4 controller. He missed his braking point & was still on the full brakes when I was at my accelerator pickup point. He made his braking point into turn 1, but chose to duck inside. He likely caught a tiny sliver of my draft as he pulled up behind me. But, considering that he was braking when I was accelerating, it sure seems like he wanted some revenge. Also, he started 2nd & while trying to pass a 911 for the lead, the 911 swerved over into him. I'd get a bit pissy over that. On lap 2, the Porsche tried a late braking maneuver going into the uphill right just where I caught up to him. The GT-R went into the gravel & 3rd place. After he has contact with me, on lap 6, he is chasing another Corvette that got 2nd when he was in the gravel. He bumps the Corvette on the downhill run leading to the same uphill right hander. He puts a move to the inside in the braking zone. He's halfway along side the 'Vette & the Corvette turns in on him. Corvette pushes wide into the gravel, no penalty. The biggest difference to me is, the Corvette he had contact with on lap 6, he was 50% beside the Corvette. He had the position & the corner. When he had contact with me, he was 100% behind me. He did not have the position, he was not entitled to the corner
