It's really unfortunate that every time I see the daily races, I feel validated in my decision to stop playing online, and especially with the lobbies not having a way to automatically begin another event some time after one ends. (Nor a way for spectators to see the progression for an event in process.) It feels like there's a lot of missed potential - too much for me to bother.

That’s my new favourite car in the entire game!! I love it! :D

yeah dude i love it. the rx7 in general is racing up my favourite cars list. i took the amemiya around nurb in gt for a bit but i gave it a small bump up to 400hp and it was a weapon. then i took the tuned rx7 in ac around laguna seca for like 45 mins.. since i cant do that in gt yet :( tuned rx7 in ac is a beauty to drive.

Is that Dom's? I've never seen any of those movies. Are they worth it? I'm old.

Yeah thats his car for the first movie, most of it anyway. If you can leave your brain at the door and just allow them to entertain you, i think the movies are great. I honestly like them all with the exception of the most recent (8) hobbs and shaw was even a decent popcorn movie. Guilty plearsure kinda stuff. I admit they are "bad" but i enjoy em.

As for this weeks races, what can i say..... only gonna be touching c i think. Just did a handfull of laps and it's a nice little drive. Can easily cut a few seconds off my time. Just wanted to feel it out. Auto is a issue in this combo it feels like but i keep messing up shifts this morning so my time was set in auto. I forget what gear i am in and keep going down one to many. It's funny cuse when i run it in auto theres is only a handfull of places i want control of the gears but i keep messing up easy places with MT, by toping out a gear right before a turn or going to 2 by mistake when all i want is down to 3.....

Personally, not really a fan

I love a nice easy pattern to make things look cool. The white is a pattern decal that I placed towards the front, then duplicated and reversed for the back. Gives a nice two-tone and the white is so I have a place for the GT Omega logo to look good. Should I even bother using it this week?

At least they got something right with the manhole cover getting blown off. In the movie what series is he in?
They were drivers in Champ Car, which was similar to IndyCar at the time (personally I thought Champ Cars were better).

It was a pretty entertaining movie, but full of goofy moments (the quarter trick for example). But also had a few cameos.

Fun fact that I just found out: the movie was supposed to take place in F1, but it sounds like teams were being too secretive about their cars so Stallone had to switch it up. Typical F1:lol:

On pole, spun out on the straight by second, now in last, then given 3s penalty for hitting a ghost car serving a slow down penalty (no contact felt?), Then punted off after I had to serve that penalty. Then every clean move you get hit for your troubles regardless of how clean and easy you make it.

How to lose 17,000 DR in 5 laps.

This penalty system... Christ on a bike.

Race A in the VW. My preferred FF car. I like the track, once I get into the swing.

Last time here I did a 1:53.194, which I was pleased with.

Took me ages to get into the swing tonight!

I wasn't sure if it was me, my wheel (Fanatec had an update - my throttle was still far too trigger happy on standard setting, so had to add my own extra 'dead space' again), a physics upgrade, or some other random thing.

Started in the mid 54s. Chipped away, whilst playing around with wheel settings...... into the 53s. Watched a couple of top 10 vids. Learnt some stuff. Kept chipping away...... Finally - 1:53.204.

One of my favorites... prefer it much more than the 2000 version.

A couple other favorites (of many) :
Grand Prix (1966)
Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo (1977)
Ronin is good too. Oh, and the original Italian Job.

This is about as good as it gets. 👍
They must have destroyed plenty of suspension parts on those San Francisco streets. :scared:

I wonder who got the penalty! :)

Champ Car was a great series, there were up to 5 different chassis constructors and 4 engine providers in any given year, and a tire war between Goodyear and Firestone for several years. At their peak the cars would've been competitive with backmarkers on the F1 grid, pretty impressive considering the respective budgets involved.

Speaking of Champ cars, check out Alex Zanardi's dive bomb pass at the Laguna Seca corkscrew on the final lap, to get the win. I can't believe he even attempted it. He would've had a track limit penalty in Sport Mode (I would assume).
Can't wait to try it, myself. 👍
