Ooh, PD is being generous this week. Thanks to dropping to SR.A I could check how much a clean race is worth on the Nord. 11 SR! That's 1 more than Sarthe last week with fewer total sectors. PD works in mysterious ways. 96 SR now, 40K DR, one more race! (and another, and another)

I really think their intent is to make sr harder to gain. I said it at Sarthe too.
I think they have made it harder to gain sr, which is an idea I support.

God only knows how you steer that thing on the Nord. I admit it is a challenge and a bit addictive, but I am going to have to drop back to hot lapping to learn more control. The back end on that thing is totally sketchy. Or is everyone running a front brake balance to steady it?

It's actually easier. Usually it's between 0.40 and 0.45 SR per sector, 11 SR for 22 sectors is 0.50 SR per sector. Last week was 10 SR for 25 sectors, 0.40 per sector.

Weird thing just happened, my car lost all grip in the middle of the road, send me into the wall. I check the replay and I'm full on the gas in a corner I always lift through  Faulty controller or time for a break. Dinner time. Can't trust my fingers anymore.

No brake balance and yep that back end is a killer, it just killed me. Getting the entry speed exactly right is essential and always be careful when getting back on the throttle.

Ok, you having the exact same problems is sort of good. It just means the problem is me, like I assumed.:D will definitely have to practice more. Was making a huge point of braking dead straight and coasting or feathering throttle until straight but was still all over the place. Probably still qualifying only as until I get a better handle I'm a menace to anyone near me.:scared:

seriously GR4 on Spa? the slowest racing category? kemmel straight will be boring as **** at these speeds

Yeah, I'm honestly surprised. It's a step back. After growing accustomed to racing on Spa with Gr.3, it seemed logical to step it up a level and use Gr.1 or Gr.2 next but... logic and PD. Need I say more.

That said, I'm glad it's returned so soon and next week's races look to be a big improvement over the last few weeks.

Yes, he certainly did blame me in the pre-race.
But, at that point, I wasn't clear on what he was referring to.
We're probably in different time zones, so that means he experienced the race an hour or two before me, right? :dopey:
no it was my 1rst out of 10 from the back it took 10 races to loose my A+ , i have qualified for tomorrow 1:31.343 i should have a better place on the grid im from Mt Trenblant QC Montreal time zone

I think it will be good racing.

I run -2 to -3 (forward), might not be the quickest but it is the most controllable in my clumsy hands

Sven should be banned from this thread for being a bad influence, the race he posted earlier has convinced me that the carousel is a perfectly valid overtaking opportunity :gtpflag:

You are right, I just witnessed my bad influence. 3 unqualified A+ drivers starting in front of me and another A/S, all behind some poor B/S drivers. The A+ all made it to the front, not sure what happened to what was in between. Sure we were all driving clean but that's mighty intimidating to have a whole train of fast from the back drivers coming at you

Your video is private btw ;)

I see it now, I wouldn't call that a valid overtake though  Ah nvm, I see what happened now, ghost in the way is what caused all the contact. Valid 👍 Plenty people screw up there and that's a good way to avoid and capitalize on it.

It's pretty easy to overtake right after it with a better exit and since I always enter it low, it sometimes confuses the car ahead in staying at the top, then it's really easy to pass.

I didn't see the save button under public :sly: Should be fixed now 👍

I've been Sven'ing it all week, it's surprisingly hard to move through the field even if the cars ahead are a lot slower, there is only one line around most of the lap, it's good for practicing your racecraft though. In Europe most of the DNQ's are the lower DR so they don't seem to make much progress.

Man, back to A sr and done for the night on alt. Wow. Without FIA I would be screwed. In the lower rooms there’s a lot of dark energy, but also a lot of fun really, I’m quite sure there’s many players with an e account just to unwind. That’s judging by the names.. lol
Theoretically I should be in the land of the somewhat sane now. I never thought it would be possible to have low A sr and be happy!
I will say and stand by this, Interlagos is one of the top tracks in game. Also If you don’t react to stupidity with stupidity, sr is very much in your own control.
In order to get reset I had to give myself many many penalties, well, I shared them with others...hehehe Plus, I never saw the one more contact and dq warning that I have seen on videos. If you get to that point you must be smoking crack!

R.S.01 is the sleeper in Race B. Feels so dang slow, but has fast corner entry/mid/exit speed. Good brakes. I was overtaking on the outside of the bowl hairpin. Really good traction from the T1 sequence. From the last turn to T1, I was able to get a tow from an M6. It had to defend as I caught right up. Got fastest lap on Lap3, in the one as well. Funnily enough, it's probably the Slophy of Gr.3.

Im not sure i want to admit it but for the first couple weeks i used the RS01 i didnt realize it had a 7th gear lol. Every gr3 i had used was 6 so i assumed it was too. I enjoy driving it even though it likes to be a little unpredictable at low speeds for me.

I know this is off-topic, but I'm so distressed, I just have to reach out.
I've been locked out of GT Server since I attempted to purchase of Lewis Hamilton Add-On, what do I do?? The Store says Ive made the Purchase. MY PS4 says its installed, BUT it doesnt work and ive been OFFLINE from server (not Internet thats fine) for 4 days. Help -

So you cant connect to GT servers? And its been like that for 4 days? Idk if i can help with that. My dlc didnt work right away so i restarted the game and it was fine. I was connected to the servers though.

Hi
I am new to the game and I could be wrong,
It seems the game is becoming more real in the way tyres handle & maybe all the talk about TC being to helpful PD decided to reduce TC strength.. I have never used TC & never will so that's is totally a guess.

I have noticed if you push your tyres to much in some corners there get hotter quickly like it should.
When it's comes to hot & cold tyres how can you tell, I have not noticed any actual temp reading I only notice when tyres get hot by the red line that appears around them.
Has anyone tried different make tyre & different compound to see if there a difference?

One thing I learnt, try to get a clear track around you if possible when qualifying, last night race group B I think in practice I did 1.47 avg with a 1.46.5 as my best time.
But when it can to Qualify I had some real ****** people Infront off me, block me as I tried to pass when they noticed I was way quicker than them in some places.
One driver keep blocking the whole Qualifying and by time I could find space it was to late.

Hell the race was worst , people don't like getting passed and will take you out before letting you pass, if you quicker and you close up on them they defend by brake checking you so you either hit them & get a penalty or you try miss them and end up loosing more time and get a penalty.

I watched the race etiquette video and it doesn't not say brake checking is normal moving under braking is ok & ramming and side hitting car is how you pass.
I guess I just need to break through the poor driver rating level to get some clean fresh racing.
What level rating does the clean driving start from?

One of the biggest problems of the game is PD expects people to drive to the rules like on TV.
But a number people no matter their age drive like spoiled kids or maybe drink & drive.
Until people grow up we will never get a great game no matter how hard PD try make a fair penalty system.

If you can get past 25k DR, with SR 99, most people at that level are skilled enough to drive close to other cars without contact and keep it clean if they want to. You still get some dirty driving at all levels. The racing tends to be cleanest in the top few places in the field.

Can you imagine Race C with rain with this car? I'd need the option to put sandbags in the trunk so I could get some traction.

Shhhhhh! Don't let @Sven Jurgens hear you say that! It's embarrassing to see a grown man drooling in anticipation!!!!

You know me too well!

I went to bed early (for me) so up early. 6:30 AM race, not safe! I got bumped off about 5 times, ended up with a 3 sec penalty from one of the rammers, finished 8th and lost 7 SR. Good morning!

Hi

What level rating does the clean driving start from?

:lol::lol: Sorry. B/B is about the cleanest it gets... I gets worse again in A/S sadly.
Race out of school hours for cleaner races.
Oops, I mean during school hours of course, no coffee yet.

The problem is, which every new player faces that's not a natural alien, is that the game will start you in the mid to backfield once you get in the 20 to 30K DR (high DR.B) range in SR.S. You become back filler for the A+/S A/S crowd. So those cleaner top few places are usually out of reach. A bit lower SR gives you cleaner races since you get to start further up front.

Maaann, I'm already in Spa mode. Ran all 27 cars, 1 lap, right after one another, no practice, mistakes, and no resets. Spa default conditions, TCS 0, BoP On. All player's results will vary. This is what I found in my hot lap journey.

I'ma try to keep this as brief as possible: 'If your car doesn't turn, you're toast.' - 05XR8

First of all, the Genesis. I blah blah blah about the Scirocket's off-throttle turn in. Well, the new found king of the off-throttle turn in, is the Genesis(at this track). That's why it's up there. It was 3rd fastest through Eau Rouge(5th gear, 215km/h). The Huracan was second fastest at 216km/h. RC F was flicking 215-216. Next, the Genesis transformed tight turns into straights. Didn't put a wheel wrong. Fitting name, as it might be "the beginning" of me enjoying this car, again. :sly:

Most stable was Viper. i messed up in the final chicane. I suspect it would have matched the C7's time( C7 was easiest to steer). The GT-R was just as stable as the Viper. Like a rock and impressively quick everywhere. Keep this one a secret. The TTV6 "felt" strong. Excellent power delivery.

86 was/is the most fun. Throw it, chuck it, fling the thing into corners and it's absolute fun. Sounds great at this track. Just winding it up and speed on through the lap.

WRX. What can I say. It's a silent assassin. Didn't expect it to match the speed of the fastest RC F through Blanchimont(228km/h). The Scooby Rex came on strong from the beginning of the downhill(Bruxelles) to the final chicane. I think it might be a problem come next week.

458 is the best sounding. I got immersed in just driving the thing. For a virtual experience, it's like a proper race car.

RC Z is up there on sheer top speed. That's it. Not even close in handling to the Scirocket.

Cars that fell outside of the 20: Alphabetically, the 4C was fast through Eau Rouge, 221km/h . From there, it was stuck on cruise control. It sliced through the corners, but doesn't have that top end. Sorry. Same for the Slophy. It's going to get murdered if there is a horizon in sight.
Citroen wasn't flash either. Thought that might be a sleeper - it literally was.
At 1650kg, the OyVeyron is a porker. Hey, if anyone can make some magic happen, good on them. Maybe if we could swap in the Scirocco 2.0T, it might go better with less weight.:nervous: Where is the TT? Oh right, garbage(like a garbage truck). Why won't the thing turn? Thought it would blitz the field and be in the top three. Oh well... Maybe the R8 GT4 will pop up some day.

Lastly, that AMG. Wasn't magic on the straights or braking or accelerating, but BOY, its mid-corner speed and handling, enabled me to be very early on the throttle. I was mashing the trigger just before apex. That's right, mashing it. Nearly forgot it's FMR. No waiting. Point it at corner exit and mash it.

All in all, it took me from the start of Total Recall(1990) to the end credits. Some may feel these cars are slow, but it was full throttle for most of the lap. Should be a fun combo.

Thanks for doing the research. I have just one question: in what order did you run them?
I have a tendency to go faster and faster in each car and then if I use the first one again it's faster than before...

Edit: the Mégane trophy? I suspect same problem as the Alfa, no top end...
