Hmm, today after work I began a tuning session. I’m still not fully happy, more can be had from the tire and car. Tranny is not optimal, but I did get to low 101. Consistent 101 is easy, but it still needs tweaking.
Since I am now used to the car I am going to try tomorrow for better, and also experiment with the stock setting to see if it makes more sense now after I’ve adjusted everything.
I see sub 1 and it’s like really.
I am using this as an experiment to see where I end up without checking anyone else’s tune. I’d already bet the diff would look crazy to a person with a different style, but this is my one fully invested experience into tuning.
I’m really torn on this car with the torque between short and long gears, but it doesn’t seem to make a significant difference.
I’m running tcs3 bb0.
I take advantage of the tcs rather than going with turny diff settings. Not sure if it’s the right approach but whatever. I want a diff that locks hard so that full throttle sends me straight, so if that seems weird, well welcome to my world.
Never tried my hand at tuning before and have no method to employ besides ‘let’s see what effect this change has’
I think I’ve nailed the camber down, it’s pretty obvious when you get a better setting there.
If I get stuck and can’t geet a mid 1.00 then I will begin trying others settings....
I’ve full invested this week into Tsukuba.
I guess this copying process happening now on my console will give Laguna Seca. AWESOME!
It’s a good time to play GTS.

The tire wear is a pretty good advantage for the race. With some careful driving my front tires have less than 25% wear by the time the race is over. I tested the Supra as a comparison and it I used up nearly half the life of the front tires, that car is tricky around this track though.

My fastest is a 46.0 on my other account, my main is 46.155. Hopefully I can hit the 45s and be relatively close to ZRT-PSYCHO who ran a 45.1 with it, nice lap.
Tanks

For anyone who thought they were getting a cop car... suffer in ya jocks! I'm glad they actually added the circuit experience with the track instead of after for a bloody change . I'm kinda hoping they pick the right car for Tsukuba next time... like the Golf they added ;). The new content will keep me going till next week where I hope the dailies will be better suited for me .

Yesterday I did 4 races in 911. Car is awesome! My Q time give me good starting position in every race but sadly no PP. Results 3,1,16(bad one),4. Gained 3000DR. Like someone mentioned tire wear is good, even on dirty tires car turns good. Today I would like to change the car, but dont know which to choose. Anybody can suggest some?

NSX is a good car at Autopolis

I brake early for turn 1 in fear of destroying my race like I've done many times in the past. Autopolis is so tricky.

All that being said I've enjoyed racing from the back. Probably won't set a qualifying time for that reason. Earlier I gained 10 positions on the first lap; many cars helped me out by beaching themselves in turn one.
I am really enjoying Autopolis, I have gained at 10 places 3 to 4 times already this week and I haven't raced that much yet, the first lap of this race is carnage. I am enjoying the fact you can race for 10 laps without the need for a pit stop.

Shift point and gearing is worth a chunk of time. I just used the max speed value and dropped it down so I was maxxed around 7k in 6th on the back straight.

Yeah, it's really fun on Autopolis, as long as you manage to stay out of the bombers' way and drive a car that's good on tire management. Just trying to not get into trouble on first two laps will give you like 5-8 positions if you start way back. Hang on to lap 6 without mistakes and you are probably in 6th. Another 2 laps and people in front might start pitting in or sliding around on bad tires. Considering there are so many 911's and AMG out there, this seem to happen in most races.

I'm using the Subaru WRX on this track and setting. Never used the car before but it's very smooth and fast here. I have about 80% tires left and almost half of the fuel when I finish! The reason I'm starting far back is because I'm not getting a competative lap down in QT. Low 48's is the best I've managed so far. I lose time in T1 and the corner after the penalty zone, where I have a hard time finding a good breaking point. But in the race the car makes up for lack of QT pace by being so consistent with lap times through out the whole race. I did my best lap on lap 8 in one of the races yesterday, for instance.

I've made it a 'sport' to only use the cars I already have in the weekly races and FIA races. Obviously you get cars for Manu race but in Nations I use the best car in the garage. The only cars I buy are for playing around and having fun, while saving up the needed 20 mil to buy a competative pre 69 race car for Nostalgia race in Campaign mode ^^,

I use the Peugeot RCZ gives good stability and good tyre wear, completely agree that consistency is the key to a good finish.

I know this is gonna sound counterintuitive, but driving MR cars is actually easier with No TCS, it’s weird but you can save slide more by using controlled wheel spin, having TCS on doesn’t allow your to do this, with TCS on in an MR car, once she starts to go it’s gone and there’s no getting it back. But without TCS, just the right amount of throttle can catch the slide and save you a trip to the beach. It doesn’t always work, but it does work a fair amount of the time. :)
Additionally, I found that turning Counter Steering Assist down or off, though initially scary, dramatically improved my control over slides.

Spot on! I wish i would've known that prior to choosing Ferrari for 2019 manu,
You know that Ferrari employ a test driver to do this?:

PC2’s system is exactly the same way with sliders for almost everything.

Not to mention, every GT game has been the exact same as well.
In GT5 one could tune a car for more midrange at the expense of a bit of top end power or vice versa by choosing which turbo charger or supercharger one fitted to the car. Other factors could also be tuned in a similar way. For some people, this made tuning a lot more accessible.

From the patch notes:

Fixed an issue wherein penalties incurred due to a collision could be transferred to another player in Sport mode and Lobbies. Penalty times have also been adjusted accordingly

Has anyone seen what this means in practice yet?

I’m assuming they’re talking about the “tap someone and then go off track” penalties.

Haha , that's it . I speak , read and write 100% french and portuguese.
English , only at school from 74 to 78 , then the rolling stones , david bowie , and finally gtplanet school since 2011 i think.
I have no problem with your English, and love your tunes - they have always worked for me (sometimes with a minor tweak), primarily because you make the car easy to drive.

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Man, that T1 at Autopolis is killing me! Still trying to find my groove there.

QT down to 1:47.26

Autopolis feels like Interlagos on steroids

There's orange paint on the guardrail to the left. Brake just before that and start to ease off the brakes as you turn toward the apex. If you have the cones on, you can see that the braking cones are set up just before that orange paint, so the brake point is somewhere between the two.

If you brake at the paint or later, you'll go straight into the gravel.

I think it's the "get punted into someone and get a penalty". I am very pleased with the fact that they still are working on the penalty system!

"working on the penalty system" is a bit of a stretch. It's probably a bug fix, not a feature.

If they were actually working on the system for GT Sport, they would have done away with this ridiculous penalty when people go off track. You can punt people into next Tuesday and get no penalty. Breathe on someone as they happen to be heading off track and your SR is toast.

That's isn't working on the system at all. That's throwing in the towel.

Does anyone know where I could find a comparison of the new BOP updates to what they were previously?

There has been no changes, it's just the addition of the gr4 Supra to the list.

When you go into the notice via the game it is bugged and it looks like you have to click the link to see changes but when you look at notice via website it shows it's just the gr4 Supra that is affected

It confused me initially as well

Having great racing this morning in race A. Started off with a great race with @Mc_Yavel, great to see you tbis morning as usual.

And, does anyone else think the cars feel better, like less understeery for once... the viper felt pretty nice in the track experiance for laguna seca. So i tried the hamilton challenge at willow and felt a huge difference in the way the car turned. The 86 in A feels a bit more planted also...... just me???

Earlier this week, I had one of those race where it feels so great. Started on pole and finish second, but who cares, the race was awesome. Many overtake without any contact.

Thanks. It should look slightly familiar.

I only had time for 3 races and I was on pole for two of them, because you showed up! Same goes for wins.

I thought it was placebo but yep, I felt a difference. More stable driving uphill and braking at the downhill chicane. Before the update, it seemed more oversteer prone... to the point I'd spin and hit the barrier although that could be down to my bad wheel driving.

My time went from 1:57.5 > 1:57.1 almost instantly as well. I haven't tested any other car yet however.

Correct, but also the BoP of the Gr.4 Supra was adjusted before it was added to the list.

Went from 96/106 -> 95/106

Yeah I did that also but I’ve tried a bunch of stuff.
Default custom tranny with lowered top speed seems about the best to me also so far.
I played with the final gear also at one point gears can get so short you gotta constantly shift lol.
It’s tricky to get all the power to work on that chassis
I didn’t lower but I did stiffen and screwed with damping a lot, and diff.
My toe settings are really minimal.
It’ll be funny if I default the settings and get the same times.
