Did a few races at Sardegna in the Supra

I made it to 15 clean races. Unfortunately on race 16 I went a bit too wide on the last corner and got a penalty for track cutting, damn.

I’m caving and switching to the Megane now. I keep starting midfield in the top split lobbies and getting murdered.

The Daily Race A his make a turnaround for me in my favor, from 6 place to win taking advantage of the mistakes of the other pilots.

Did 60 odd miles and put down a low 1:13 at Autopolis.
Looked it up, that’s currently top 100 EMEA. Thought I should race with that. Got pole, but not by much.

Was a good race too. Close racing. Bit of touching on lap 2, but clearly trying to be fair on both sides.

I'm going round Sardegna thinking "I'm going to make a post after this race. The right hander before the penalty line is the worst corner in the game, and the penalty line's in a stupid place."

Lap 4. I started 5th, I'm in 5th, my highest positions of the day. A TT's right behind me. He boots me off at that corner, I end up 13th. He ends up 4th, and didn't get a penalty.

Yup, been punted off twice at that corner now, and not a sausage to the offender. Lots of places/time to be lost when smacking that wall head on!!!

The Supra is pretty handy around Race B this week.

Guy in front had already 6.5 secs penalty, he pushed me wide in turn 1 and I got a 2 sec penalty.

Thanks to the stupid positioning it made no difference if 6.5 seconds or 2 seconds, didn't gain anything on him

What exactly did they do in this last "update"? Take the worst of both updates and put them together? I got penalties yesterday at Tsukuba because a car was in the process of spinning when they hit me, and someone divebombed me then spun out. Fortunately the penalty line was useless in that race and a 2s penalty cost maybe 0.5s of actual laptime. Meanwhile people were punting others clear off the track and getting away with murder. Seriously, how did they screw up the penalties this badly? Just going back to 3 updates ago would be a vast improvement. The only thing any of these recent updates got right was allowing bump-drafting again.

I've hit someone in that corner twice today and not got a penalty (although I let both stay ahead of me until the end of that lap). Smegane has too-good brakes, except in the slipstream.

Also been nosed off countless times by asshats.

After my week at wet spa my dr was at an all time high of 47.7k. I thought I was in for a big old nose dive starting at the back at Bathurst but after a win and a couple of 3rd places last night I made A+ for the first time up to 51.5k was quite good fun apart from a couple of random penalties from cars not ghosting

Race B is really good but once again made pointless by how short it is.

I generally agree B races are short although I wouldn't say pointless and instead less fulfilling with more emphasis on qualifying. I'm actually preferring Sardegna B in short bursts rather than when it was a full-length Race C like last time.

A good compromise is doubling laps to 8. That way the race isn't over in under 6 mins and it's still shorter than Race C.

There's also been cases where a minimal collision happens (like a little tap without affecting either car) results in a harsh penalty. I remember seeing an FIA Manu clip where car 1 was being passed by car 2 at a straight. Small side collision happens, and car 1 got a 5-7 second penalty.

Bathurst isn't much better. Got knocked off the track on the entry to the chicane at the bottom of the hill - went across the grass out of control, back onto the track into the car that ran me off.

I got a 4 second penalty, he gets nothing....

Well that's no more dailies this week for me. Did 1 Daily B, which is just bumper cars on a bumper track, expect to be taken out anywhere.
Also did two Daily C races at Bathurst, went as well as expected. Simply can't do well at Bathurst when it's faster than group 4.
In the first race I was in it with Kie25, managed to finished just one place behind him, although I did the race in the Supra and the car was crazy twitchy. Almost binned it several times.
Second race was with Kie again and also SuperGT, but that went even worse. In lap 1 I crashed coming out of the corner after the second long straight (that bit of grass on the left is bumpy as hell) and from then on was last, behind Kie who had something in lap 1 as well. Someone else fell back in between us and towards the end we both caught up, unfortunately though in lap 8 I braked a bit too late and crashed the guy in front out. Finished last. Lost 2600 DR overall. Guess I have to wait for next week's races...

You sure that wasn't a replay from 2 updates ago, when the penalties first went to 🤬?

I had an interesting A race today. At turn 1, on lap 1 I bumped into the back of a South American fellow. It wasn't bad. He didn't go off track, and I didn't pass him.
He later got a penalty, and I went by him. He was fast, so he caught up to me, then shoved me out of his way. Later, I got by him again when he swerved to miss a cone, then he hit me 3 times on the straight to push me off the track, so I smashed him good. :mischievous: I ended up off track and he got a 2 second penalty.

At the end, he called me dirty, and I got a clean race bonus. 👍
:lol::lol::lol:

Good question... no idea. I should have checked its upload date.

I’ve got the GT86 down to 12.6 so far, can’t catch @Mistah_MCA yet though, great lap man!

BB-1

I was chasing Lester... beat his time.. and then he beat my time again.
Might have spent 2 hours getting .3 last night... :ouch:

Tight cornering at the hairpin corners, good handling and full throttle at the final left-hander before the last Ess bend, are real advantages.

Only car I can stay ahead of, without a slipstream, is the Huracan. Behind me, the RC F just gets a turbo boost without a turbo.

So
I love the Beetle and try to be clean. I do have a yellow Jesus livery though that says 'Jesus is My Airbag'.:D
So far in race C the only cars that has wanted to pass me on the inside of the downhill chikane has been Beetles. And every time they where driven by a Spaniard. I have had lots of really clean races with Spaniards in other cars, but not beetles

Pure coincidence. Luv the Bug. Be Herbie! Ignore the ignorant trolls ;).

Going to give race b another shot in the supra. I have the qualy down to a 25.6. I think the aliens could get into the 24s with it.

I’m literally walking on air right now all the practice I’ve done has paid off in one single race tonight in daily race C

I just beat the former gt academy winner
Lucas ordonez in a straight up clean fight and gapped him in a vette while he was in the gtr over the moon is a understatement.
