Wel, l did two races in the Corvette around Bathurst.
One race was bottled by me, in the second I was just really slow for some reason. DR went up by 200.
Don't know if I'll stick to the Corvette. I just don't have the pace in the races for some reason (I'm off with +3 secs per lap compared to qualy). We'll see. I've yet to try the Lexus, Jag, Beetle and maybe some other cars I might be forgetting.
Merc feels too heavy, can't get it around the corners. GT-R is just too oversteery for my liking, so that's a no go either.
I might put in some laps today, tomorrow I'll race again :D.

Edit: Corrected DR. I checked and remembered wrong, my bad.

The Jag is still a beauty! Handles like a dream around Bathurst. Though, I did take some suggestions from yesterday during today's gameplay and took the Aston Martin for a spin and managed to set a decent QT beating my previous time by two seconds. Ended up in Pole Position three times today, but I feel as if the Aston Martin likes to burn its tires quicker than most. The Jag is still the sweet spot. Please don't nerf it PoDi

Also, I tend to do well with cars that are naturally-aspirated, in which both the Aston Martin and the Jaguar are as well as the Corvette. Anything with a turbo boost tends to wanna boost into oversteer, at least with my foot anyway. The Hyundai also seems pretty fast, as it can escape the Jaguar on the straights of Bathurst even when being drafted.

Hello Victory!! I just love Bathurst! Started 3rd, was 1st by turn 2. Led the full race. The Supra is awesome. Now I’ve moved back to DR C, so the challenge starts now.

After 3 months away i jump on and race C is bathurst with little tyre wear :D:D

Managed one race where i was clear on pole by over 3 seconds and won whilst trying to stay focused. Will hit it again tonight where i am likely to be matched in harder rooms.

As is usual for me, I tried different cars (none of my qualy laps were clean and all are a solid half second off of the optimal time). gave the Stang a run and managed a low 6. Tried the GTR, a high 5. Clock was ticking with 8 minutes before matching so jumped in old faithful ...... a 2.04.7 in the Merc. Just boom, like that. I am so much faster in that thing than anything else it is scary.

Well, I went to the Mountain, strengthened by a strong performance in the Gr4 Manu race last Sunday.
... It did not translate.. I had a good time and started in P2, but god mauled and banged around and 1+7 second penalty and a 1000 point loss and a 99 to 89 SR demotion I was properly humbled ..

I might get back on that horse tonight ..

Well after my outrage yesterday I decided to give both the Supra and Bathurst a try. And it was the correct decision.
Yesterday I was placed in very, very high ranked races and messed up. Did some quali practice and practice race and felt comfortable with it again.
I was able to get my quali time down to 2:02.661, which currently places me in #103 in EMEA. But had I been able to combine my best sectors it could've been a 2:02.1xx... Let's try again tomorrow.
First race I started in P5 as car #5. Due to other peoples mistakes got up to P3 by lap 3. Then on the long straight I got overtaken by a GT-R, in the slight right bend there was a bit of contact but nothing too harsh (if anything he went into me but nothing serious), but then I ended up with a 8 second penalty.

From then on I was in P6 and stayed there until the end of the race.
You can see my second race here:

Started P3, got up to P2 in lap 1 and then was able to close the gap to P1, but couldn't quite get it. P2. Very happy after what happened yesterday.
Almost got half of the DR back that I lost yesterday :-D

I've got a couple of beauties here. Both from the same race.

In the first clip, I braked too late and screwed up the turn. Shortly after, I got blasted in the ass and received a 7 second penalty for it.

In the second clip, I got a 2 second penalty for hitting a ghost that spawned on the track in front of me. At least, I think that's what I think it was for.

Good times 👍

You viciously sideswiped that RSR as he tried to pass you

edit: my daughter is going to ballet class with my wife in a few, and my son won’t (cant’t? He’s a 2.5 year old with a sister who never lets him talk, haha) tell on me for running laps.

My enjoyment is higher on longer races, so I need to beat my demons at Bathurst. I did set up an alt account...maybe I’ll run races on that.

Race C in real life, that Bentley could be fun to have in GT-Sport.. its remarkable how these drivers are able to drive so fast and keep it on the line vs what we see in the current Race C..

Wasn’t there a ton of crashes in that race, and the Q session?

Okay, that car is actually from another world, just did a 2:04.145 on my 5th lap.
I imagine the Mustang isn't good on tires or fuel?
It's thirsty all right, but I manage 9 laps at full bore in AT and finish with 0.7 lap in the tank. Tyres, well I don't think it's that bad, I have been pitting for fresh so I can push hard at the end when everyone else is nurturing worn rubber, since you loose so little time pitting.
And if you just keep gassing downhill it's wonderful stable. Hauls in the GTR's on the straight too.

I hope they never nerf it!

What's more remarkable was that a) it could crowbar it's way through The Dipper and b) that a brick on wheels could out pace the cockroaches .

Qualifying yes, but as for the race itself, not so much. There was a few, but compared to other years this year has green for remarkable stretches of time.

Bad day yesterday in Race C. I started 4 races but only finished 2. I can't justify spending all my time being bullied in the back half of the field. The GT-R is very fast in a straight line but it's horrible out of the slow corners. The braking distance is also pretty shocking, and I got hit several times going into The Chase as a result. The drivers don't anticipate how early I'm going to brake, nor do they want to compromise their own braking distance. So they just punt me off instead of passing me on the inside.

Watch the top laps and look at the braking distances in the same car. It's weird.

It’s because you’re watching it in replay mode. Go into your replays and rewatch your own best laps and you’ll see the same thing. That’s why I always upload my actual laps and not from the replay mode. Apparently the inputs can be off in replay mode, or at least that’s what I’ve been told. I look for the nose diving,
Not the brake pedal when watching those replays. :)

Lol, yeah that race was a graveyard. 16 cars totals either crashed out or had mechanical failures.
I was really hoping the #63 Lambo would win. It had stayed out of trouble all race and was slowly moving forward then it died just as it was braking into the podium places :(

YES! I got my first win in a while. The M6 GT3 is pretty decent around Bathurst. Love this circuit.
Good to know there is another one out there! I just won my first of the week in it. It's great fun over the mountain and can get good laptimes but the BOP is naff, it doesn't have enough power to overtake on the straights and you're vulnerable to the Nissan's (with a tow they gain a second on a single straight).
