Obviously racing at my correct DR level the last couple of weeks! - Brands last week, and BMB this week:-

601 28682 B 99 S
600 28589 B 96 S
599 27565 B 99 S
598 28345 B 99 S
597 27323 B 99 S
596 27797 B 99 S
595 27996 B 99 S
594 28123 B 99 S
593 29260 B 99 S
592 29581 B 99 S
591 28555 B 99 S

I'm hoping that I don't make it to A - been there a couple of times, but never managed to stay there long....

I finally tried today.

A: Trying to control a rock being hurled around a strip of tarmac.

B: Be the ball in a roulette bowl and guess where you‘ll finish after five turns. Some unseen Croupier calls „Rien ne va plus“ after the green flag fell.

C: Way off the pace. Desperately managed a 2:01; not in the mood messing around with the controller settings. Didn‘t start.

I guess it‘ll be GT-Lounge again this week. Had some good races last week. And the AI is as chaotic as sports mode.

We got introduced to our companies COVID-19 emergency plans today. Since somebody decided I should get a new laptop (I didn‘t want one, my old one and me had a loving, respectful relationship) my company is going to pay a new screen for my office at home (the old one only had good ol‘ DVI and VGA interfaces). However: if you get quarantined you‘re declared sick and basically get your salary from your healthcare. That will be the chance to open a third account and race without fearing the consequences.

Racing at Spa is just waste of time, too many idiots, I was starting 6th, on 1st corner 15th with 7s penalty.... I dont wanna play this game anymore...

I guess i have been lucky. Have had a total of 4 races all starting from the rear no quali time 2 wins 2 seconds.

Is that at DR A?

The penalty system is fundamentally broken. My SR is taking a hammering because this happens almost every race. There's no way to avoid that if the game doesn't have the AI to ghost the car.

Edit. The view from the following car. It's just a massive smokey dive, 50 yards beyond the braking point.

Yeah. I would have caught up to him and punted him. Wow

I don't know about his races but all the worst crap i have dealt with has been in Rooms heavy with A drivers. Videos finally went live. The first one is the first lap of my first race no qually. I quickly found out I didn't have a handle on the combo but it looks like no one else did either.

I do admit to not driving great there. And yeah, after that I just dropped as I had no pace.
Next video was the punts from last night.
First was the lag punt, person managed to keep the spot. I want the tire grip and turning ability they had. Next is the combo deal that dropped me from a solid start and ok pace to just lapping in danger of being lapped with no one in sight. Guy that dive up the middle to make it 3 wide was doing that crap all night in all 3 races, and simply punting you if they didnt get by within a few turns. Didnt seem to get many penalties for it though. I need to get faster to get away from those people, or better car control.:boggled:

Yeah, I'm just not feeling it for race B this week. Found it incredibly boring. Seem to finish where I start, all the cars are BoP'd to be identical, so can't make up ground.

Meh. Race C is it this week.

I'm finding the total opposite. Starting 15th or 16th, using a Mustang, Ferrari, SLS, anything except the EVO and generally finishing in the top 5.

Also used the Citroen and Renault, but they're useless. These definitely need the draft to be competitive.

This is in a B/S room. Maybe you're in a higher skilled lobby?

So you feel my pain;) same thing happend to me, intentional divebombing and i get penalty...

I was in A/S this morning on BMB and from the back you don't get far. Can't catch the front being held up by the clumsy at the start while the front drafts away. After qualifying it went a lot better (just enough to start 9th), even got a lucky win but most races at the front are simply a procession until someone screws up or tries a dive bomb.

It might be all different now. I just tried Spa again after getting my kids and it turned all dirty (not all drivers, 4 or 5 causing trouble then quitting, enough to ruin the race). Schools are out. I imagine BMB might be a lot less organized as well now.

Yup. And it looks like you can be as blatant as you like with no punishment. It's nuts.

Yup. Race needs to be super messy to get to the front. The field tends to split after the first big hit and if you're on the wrong side, that's your lot.

Just had the mess happen for me - started last, was in 11th at the start of the last lap. Most of those in front of me had penalties, leaving me 3rd at the last corner - P1 runs P2 into the wall, spinning him out, P1 gets 4 seconds penalty as we get to the line - jammy win for me!

No this was in B/S as well. Perhaps I'm just not driving the oval correctly. I know I don't hit that first turn correctly, I always lose .25 to .50 seconds there. My qualy time right now is at 43.808

If using a car like the Beetle or Evo (only two I've tried so far for this race), I find it helps to downshift to 5th at around where 110m mark would be then brake at 100m briefly (while downshifting to 4th) just enough to bring your car from far outside lane towards the middle lane, and then full throttle as your car begins to enter the innermost lane.

Current best time is 43.257 with the EVO and 43.470 with the Beetle.

I also see a lot of people braking at the final turn. You should be able to lift off gas + downshift at the 100m mark, coast until middle apex, then full throttle out. Ideally, you should be able to cross finish line around 178-180mph (286-290kph).

I'd be around the same time if I bothered to qualify. I stop just before the line when doing runs, and it's usually around 43.4xx to 43.7xx. Faster in the race due to slipstreams. Managed to get a few fastest laps with the Mustang.

For the first corner, I'll brake heavily just after the 100m board, but before the stewards light, drop to 4th, turn in and away you go. In the races, that enables the switchback on those that brake too late and basically head for the wall, it also gets a good drive to the straight.

So many cowards now, driving dirty with an alt account. Check them on KP and they've done 30 races yet drive at A to A+ pace ramming cars off along the way. I know people use alt accounts for good reasons as well, but I'm getting tired of those just using them to play dirty.

However those with 300 ms ping showing up in the sf19 :banghead:

No worries, it happens. My radar to spot the actual troublemakers is pretty fine tuned by now  But always good to make the connection, I usually have it out for people with names that start and end with an x ;) Anyway in slipstream start braking at the distance marker, alone you can wait until nearly the end of the shadow. Fastest is to catch the inside kerb with the right wheel, going deep doesn't help there unless you're on the outside.

I figured that out by the next race lol. I just dont drive the SF very often so i had to get used to it in race conditions. I let you past me but then i was like ah **** what if i do it again lol.

I tested every single Gr.3 car at BMB today. Here's what I learned:

-Never drive the Z4. It's beyond bad.
-Highest possible speed will be with the Ford GT. It has lower gear ratios than everything else. Someone who's better than me can probably make a run at the top 10 with it.
-Peugeot VGT is bad at turning.
-The 4C turns really well.
-The best car in the class at turns 1 and 3 is the SLS. I never drive it, so I was surprised. It's the least likely car to put you in the wall on corner exits.
I got a few laps in the 43.1s with it.
-Fastest lap for me was with the Lancer (43.0).
-Manual transmissions will not help you with this combo. Keep it simple (A/T).

In the race, considering slipstream, all the cars are about the same speed. Might as well choose a handling car. 👍

Too late for that tip. One race I had the victory practically in the bag. I draft passed first into the lead before T2 from a much better corner exit out of T1. Then suddenly the car I just passed, speeds up, passes me again around the outside and the pack catches up and rams me to 5th in T3. I didn't have the sound on and didn't notice I had forgotten to shift to 6th :banghead:

4C might be the way to go. I tried the Ferrari from the back but it seems to accelerate a bit slower at the start leading to quite a gap before T1.

my last race at BMB last night was awesome. It shows why i love gt and why i dont in a 15 second clip. ( i actually made this ricciardo livery for the ford gt the day before my sf19. but this is the second version where i swapped Renault logos for Ford.)

Talk about sour grapes for that clown. And just chalk it up to the PS allowing guys to throw their vehicles around like that because nothing bad will happen of it.

PD need to get it together for race lengths . it definitely shouldn't be 30 mins of racing and 30 mins of waiting every hour for Race B. Should be 45:15. around 5 minutes between races is lots considering loading/matching and warm up time.

also sturk no offense but i couldn't think of anything more boring than BMB and auto transmission lol i could never go back

Best results for me at BMB were in the Jag. Mustang was a strong contender, but the front end washes out a bit, where the Jag seems to bite, especially T3, the Aston was a possible but it sounds like a wasp through the headphones, annoying bugger.
Racing was canny clean, once the Muppets binned themselves
