Gotta wonder what grX car they'll use. Was looking at my stats last night, and Tsukuba is one of my best tracks. I think that's because it's so short I don't forget where I am. The Honda powered 2&4 would be fun...maybe the kart. I finaly got enough $$ to buy the P4, so we can race those, too. Oh, wait...they usually supply the A car.

Had some great racing last night, only 1 bad race where I had a rough one. Started 18th in a A+/A/B room, made my way up to I think 14th on lap 1, got hit in T1 and sent right to the back again. Worked my way back to 10th and had a weird spin in the hairpin, back to 16th lol. I think I finished P11, quick race to forget.

Had two great runs from the back each up to 2nd with some great battles. Here are video highlights from those.


The pass for P2 on the final lap was a tight one but no contact. First part of vid I saw the Mclaren coming in like a missile so I stayed wide and let him fly through into everyone lol. I find T1 is very easy to overtake if you know the braking limits on the cars. I know the Megane is one of the best, so if I'm braking near my limit and you are still flying...... I know there is no way youre stopping, so I just stay wide and let them screw themselves.



Also had 2 great races on my main. First one started P5 and finished P3. P1/2 were teammates (Same name) who just drafted each other until lap 8. Sorry but that's BS, race like the rest of us. The advantage they had on all straights was absurd. Second race I redid my quali time between races and started P2, grabbed P1 on lap 3 but I wasn't shaking P2 so I lifted into T1 to let him take the lead and then pressured him hoping for a mistake that he never made. So on L10 coming into T1 I made a last second maneuver. Video below. First part of video is P2 who had dived on me earlier but I anticipated it, this was me letting him outbrake himself into T1 and flying by to chase down P1.




Also a reason to have full damage. Even the best of us can go into a crazy rage when pinballed by a group. At least with damage we are out and can calm down before next race.

I for one appreciate that you took the time to post these excellent clips. Second video, dispatching that evo was pretty sick. Man you are very good at getting that little French car to dance!
Last video the turn one feinted defense that guy ahead tried...Watching you dispatch him was particularly tasty!
I’ve had irl responsibilities making it difficult to get on game, but had to thank you for taking the time to put this together. :)
There was another one around the outside of an Alfa that was great...
Very nice work!
If I get time I’ll make a you tube and clip a few Moostang and 86 overtakes up, I have yet to try the French cheat code as you put it lmao

So far it's always been that a car coming from outside the track has the right of way, no matter what you do. So yep, you fully deserved a hefty penalty for being near a car re-entering the road. You should have put your blinkers on, slowed down traffic behind you and waited for him to get back on the track. Such poor sportmanship on your part.

FFS, another week I can't be bothered to race. Maybe Tsukaba is karts? That might be fun.
 
I'm all over DTG(Thank You, Jesus!)! Look like the Huracan and GT-R will probably be back on the menu. Atenza is good there as well. Genesis isn't too shabby around the joint. I've seen a fast player have multiple wins with it, from pole, ages ago.

However, PD need to stop messing around. They place to classic race cars in Time Trial, when those events could have easily been Daily Races.

what a surprise, NOT! damn these jp tracks it's getting ridiculas! another week of lobby racing. getting sick of this now. really sick of it. roll on ACC.
 
I hope a race is karts.
I dunno how I can like Autopolis but detest Fuji, but I do ::sigh:: Gardens sprint could be fun a few times, but it’s another track I’m not a huge fan of...
I’m hoping A race will be karts or something vintage like the Mercedes or that other goofy sedan-forget the name...
Man. Got spoiled with Spa then Interlagos...
 
Daihatsu Copen RJ VGT for Race A if I am not mistaken given Sports Soft tyres...Grp X Category vehicle.

Either that or Renault R8 Gordini for something random...
 
Gee I hate tyre wear. Sucks the joy out of the race for me anyway. I need to pit during race C or i am crawling at the end but most people don't, which makes it a pain for me to get through the field again.

Qualied with a 39.7 which is a bit slow for a S/A room get owned during the race until SR drops below 99.
 
I need to force myself to stop qualifying because I spend way too much of my time doing it.

I *just* got into the 37s by .025 seconds with the WRX after about 30-40 mins of lapping. I’m over qualy but now I feel too burnt out to race. :lol:

In all seriousness, nothing you did wrong there. People just need to learn to put their big girl pants on & deal with the fact they went off. If they got punted, then punting the first person they see isn't "getting even" & teaching the culprit a lesson.

Another week of racing offline for me then.

Are PD purposely choosing "bad" combos to save the strain on the server?
 
Switched to main account today, if there's no Nurburgring next week no point in keeping the high DR.
Set a 2.02.3 QT in the 16 Lexus at Suzuka, which placed me towards back of the grid. I'm getting pretty good at taking the hairpin from a rolling start :lol:
Made up spots in every race so far, it seems canny brutal mid pack. Best so far is 5th from 15th. DR holding steady ish and SR at 99. 👍
In one warm up a car ahead of me came out of the pits with a 2.5 sec penalty :confused: Can't recall coming across that before.
 
I've trying to use a few different cars for race C. The Subaru which seems to be the best qualifying car the front tyres die 2/3 through the race. Tried a couple of power cars and they were better on account of just monstering everyone on the main straight. Tried the GT86 and was an ok alternative choice and came to the conclusion that there's no point not using the Mégane trophy as it's super stable and easy to drive and mainly because they've seemingly forgotten to turn tyre wear on for this car.

Yeah this quarantine has given me plenty of free time lol. That plus I have Adobe Premiere so it’s not too time consuming vs the PS4 editor.

The Evo I’m still amazed we didn’t touch at all. Figured at worst I’d have a lite rub. He was great fun to battle with, he learned the second race and did a good job on defense, I should have given more room to get a run, but the lancer has the power advantage.

That T1 trick I use a lot. Guys will go to defense and compromise all of their exit speed. All I have to do is take a wide initial arc which sets me up to have a much higher exit speed. Even better if they mess up like he did. Then it changes from being a few tenths ahead to 1+ seconds.

Def try the Megane on your Alt and enjoy it’s strength in traffic ;)
 
I'm pretty stoked on Gr2 at Fuji. I know we had it just a few months ago, but it was also two weeks after I got GTS. Finished with a 2800th ranked qual time back then so I'll be motivated to improve upon that. I also remember there was fairly limited ramming going on. Nice thing about Gr2 races is that there's generally good spacing between drivers. And the chicane section here is one of the kinder ones.

Oh, and a legitimate pit strategy race.
