I would like to take a moment to apologize in advance for anyone who finds themselves hanging out with me at race C :D . Be brave! Or be patient! There’s a good chance I’ll throw myself into the wall soon enough!

Very fun though :). Hope I can get comfortable enough to have some battles in the back.

REALLY wish I didn’t qualify, I don’t belong up there in any split lol. Hopefully everyone puts in some better laps soon!

goodluck! Have fun!

@Famine Has site traffic been down lately? It doesn’t seem like we are getting nearly as many posts over the past month or so?

Also, has anyone checked the GT Sport player participation lately? Is there less people playing again?
Data sample of 1: I've been playing a lot less recently catching up on the decade of PC sims I've missed since the last time I had a wheel.

Hope to see you out there. I'll be the one being bravely patient (way) behind you. If I can survive the first lap.

So it sounds like using anything besides the R92CP and 787B is pointless. I certainly don't mind buying the Nissan, but I've had a C9 and XJR-12 collecting dust since I bought them when they were first added to this game, and was waiting for a good time to finally use them in a Gr. 1 race.

The sheer lack of originality in the weekly races made me quit this game.
Ill go give f1 2020 a try...

Elaborate on the sheer lack of originality? Particularly this week, Le Mans No Chicane tips the meta upside down and it hasn't appeared for 1.5 years along with an N600 race. A car and class unseen since 2018. Those look original enough to me.

Many racing games don't have weekly scheduled races in-game at all. It's a great idea and one which other developers should take note for their future titles.

I like how you say this and next thing, the thread explodes.

Agreed, it's a shame if the BoP doesn't allow for close racing of these great cars... I think the Lemans track is always going to be one that separates the cars, and no reasonable BoP solution would exist. So I would like to see PD have a race at another track, because what is good for a 24H race IRL isn't what's most fun in a 25 minute race online.

Ok, Thats it. The sheer lack of originality in the weekly races made me quit this game.

It's been well over a year since we had this Race C track variation.

I think you can do well in both of those. It's one thing to set a QT, race craft is different. I just ran a race with 75% R92CP's and I qualified p15. Att lap 4 I was p4.
Now, I did mess myself up. At last lap in Arnage the driver I raced for fourth missed his brake point and I delayed my turn-in so he went wall exploring.
Going through Porsche curves I thought "It's in the bag unless I rock it big time!".
Indianapolis, I go to the beach... A long way out.
Finished p7, still 8 spots up.
So race craft as usually beats unicorn laps.

Anybody that has spotted a wild GTR-LM Nismo yet?

I saw two this morning.

Edit 3: so far I have seen four drivers in my liveries. It would be nice if PD made it possible to see how many add your liveries to collections

I have classes but I'll attempt to set good times for all three races and race tomorrow. Should be some good fun :D. I can see the R92CP is META for qualifying due to the speed advantage while running alone, as expected, but didn't see any info regarding the Gr.3 race, don't know what the META for qualifying is there.

458's at Maggiore sure is interesting! Although I would've preferred if it were the full circuit and a VS battle against a Huracán or Aventador. Anyway, hope y'all are having fun :D.

I set up race A in arcade with AI on Pro and found it prity easy, shame it's a dum AI if it was smart it would probably hold more interest :)

I run custom races vs. AI before most of the FIA races that I enter. For me, it's less about the challenge of beating the AI, but rather, I use these races to test out tire wear, fuel use, pit strategies, and finding braking points in traffic that will be helpful for the FIA race. I also use it try out different cars that I might use for the Nations race to see how they feel over the course of the race rather than just in the free practice laps.

I will likely do this before entering Race C this week as well. I am still very much a novice with the Group C cars and have NO experience at the no-chicane version of LeMans!

Had a month away from GT and La Sarthe Gr1 was always gonna be a culprit to make me go back :p:tup:

I don't have the R92CP and only 300k in credits so jumped in the old trusty 787b .. This thing is wicked sounding as always and a Brilliant drive to boot! ;) Here's my best lap so far.. will go back tonight and try to chop it down some more

...might even try this one online before the week is out and see if I can luck out with a good mannered grid :D:tup:

Have fun on this one guys ;)

Race C:

This was a fun one, GT_Zocker1990 was streaming the race on his YouTube whilst Bonnieval99 and I were using the straights to type in his chat, at one point I had a full conversation about dirty air and BOP going with one of his viewers whilst leading the race! And then we did that little dance, into the Porsche curves.

Focus on the curves. Everyone can go fast down the straight. Gr C rewards slow-in fast out and late apex.
Also, the two most important curves are Tertre Rouge and Mulsanne. It pays to brake a little then power through at Tertre Rouge. Mulsanne is picky about track limits so stay between the white lines and keep close to the right curb as you turn.

One of the aliens was doing 3:07 laps in the XJR-12 and winning races with 20 sec lead. I haven't seen the C9 do well though.
