A - Blue Moon Field Infield A - N200 (car unknown)*

B - Spa - Gr. 4

C - Autopolis - N200 (car unknown)**

* Possible car for Race A could be Mini Cooper '05, as this combination happened a few months ago.

** A while ago, there was a Daily C Race (N200) at Autopolis with the Toyota 86 GT. The tire and fuel multipliers look the same as last time, so it could be the same exact combination that we are getting next week for Race C. If this is the case, then this is an easy no stop; adjust brake balance to even out tire wear, and go all out.
Good week to run all three and inch the K' Speed Score up...

I think it’s a good choice for the C race to balance against the ridiculous gr1 at Nurb GP combo.
Street cars deserve some longer races too. Not everyone can handle racecars, and it’s good to have a longer race to give people a chance to mount a comeback if they get taken out. That said it will make A and B race much more aggressive because sr will be easy to recover on c with a no qual.
So I reset one account to see what that’s all about. It’s so hard to reset an account.
Getting to B sr was pretty easy from the A Nurb GP dropped me to third race last week.
From B to reset at D E involved multiple races smashing everyone in sight pretty much.
I stayed DE a while because those are pretty fun. Just chaos, everyone blasting everyone. There’s a point though like about C sr where if you have a midpack qual in that it’s almost impossible to recover since the driving is so so bad.
I was able to get back to S on b race though but it took having a guaranteed pole qualifying and a bunch of time trial victories.
D E was the most fun imo.
Nurb GP...I did a bunch but that race was awful, just a terrible combo. Yota one make and that car just isn’t fun for me to drive. Only had a few laps where it wasn’t busy failing to turn in well. The racing was either get through turn 1 clean and parade the rest or get taken out turn 1 and try to claw back through a field of horrible slow blockers and divers and ending up bashing by because of that. Can’t say I had one fun race on c except at D E because destruction derby was kinda fun there.
Suzuka, it was either have enough gap by the hairpin to be out of punt range or pretty much get punted. Or get blocked slowed then punted. Got dived in on entering Spoon once that really irritated me.
Really, the combos last week sucked.
I ran the Ferrari at Spa for qual, but couldn’t get a decent time this morning. I ran the GTR and did better and got a decent time. I feel like the GTR works well for me there.
I wish they would have chosen a different track for C this week but A and B should be pretty good.
I decided to keep dr lower on my everyday account now. It was annoying above 50k, you know you gotta warm up a bit before entry etc. I prefer just jumping in.
Honestly, the racing is more fun when it’s less serious for me and I feel ok just lighting people up when they screw with me.
Take ACC, honestly too serious is a bit boring compared to battling and trash talking in pre race chat in the dailies.
This week should be much more fun than last given that it’s got better combos.
Hope to see soma yous on track this week!

Spa feels like a drive in the country after Suzuka's intense battles .
The F type Jag seems to perform well against everyone, most of the grid are Corvettes, Dodge Vipers & RCZ's with a few others thrown in the mix.
Going to up my QT a second or two and see what it's like from mid pack 👍

Spa is far from one of my best circuits but I had fun this morning with the Vantage and then the Mustang by no means am I quick there but it's still fun but have to admit I had a better time at Suzuka.

So race C is turning out to be another FF fest , had a spin with both jag and the viper but i barely beat the RCZ

they brake way too late so they divebomb 90% of the time and doing a switchback is hard because once they hit the gas it’s game over, off they go like a rocket ship

So, the last time we had the Mini race at BMB Infield, is when I first realized how nasty the A/S lobbies can be. Nobody seemed to be there for fun. So many people were attempting completely unreasonable moves.
I believe it was about halfway through the week, when I intentionally reset myself, to keep away from those dickheads.
I think a lot of those people are gone, now.
~Cautiously optimistic. :nervous:

People stress too much over keeping their A/A+ or getting to A/A+(Myself included), I think the whole rating system should be done away with, what’s wrong with numbers, with no assigned letter designation? People will still trip over the thresholds like 40k/50k, but hopefully not as much as seeing that letter change.

so I’ve tried the RCZ and I’ve jumped from 2.29.100 which i set earlier with the jag to 2.28.700 and I’m confident i can find some more time, i hate the FFs but idk how I’m comfortable with them then my fav FRs

Just had an incredibly stupid lobby in Race B (Americas). bunch of C/S and D/S (including me), three A/S, and an S/S. I looked him up after the fact and the guy was literally in a Top 16 race at one point.
I get that there's not a ton of players on Americas but this is absurd. I'm currently at 516 DR. I am, by all metrics, one of the worst "clean" drivers in my region. Why am I being matched up with some of the best players in the region? Having a third of the grid not even finish because the leader is 40 seconds ahead of everyone else, after three laps of Spa, is ridiculous.

Fun to see how much I've been able to improve my pace, since the two repeat Daily Races earlier this year... immediately put up a lap 0.3 sec quicker than my prior best at AUTOPOLIS in the 86, and over a second faster in the Mini at BMB... where I was able to get some wins the first time around...

I suppose the data is useful for PD as well... having a look at where the active population rates may serve some use for them, and there are a lot of new racers in 2020. So I don't mind the repeats. And I enjoyed the Mini and 86 races the first time around, so no problem!

(EDIT/UPDATED: up to 29th best time in NA/SA at BMB... on my alt... but still happy with some solid times in Race A and Race C... just need to work on my Spa times (seems I am not as fast when it's dry there!)

Good week to run all three and inch the K' Speed Score up...

What SR?

I had one S/S in a lobby of all B/S just now and I’m only at 18k DR. That guy must of had a DR reset at some point?

I would support matchmaking based on qualifying times, only.

Bluemoon Park...
Soooo, I decided to start a race before going to work.
Not even the first corner and some dude t-boned me and sent me straight to the wall.
However, he did get a penalty, a 1 second penalty only.
Hard to recover from this one.
At least, I passed two guys and ended up 9th place.
And I believe the guy who hit me spun at turn 1 from the last lap.
I got a clean race too.
I am not an expert but if my times are not good, at least I can get some SRs.

I've always found that a little odd. I wonder why the countdown begins with first place finishes. Why can't it begin when podium finishes? The matchmaking has been all over the place lately. Assorted DR/SR lobbies on various times of the day. Both of the Daily Races I did today had a mix of D/C, D/S, C/B, B/B, B/S, and even A+/S all in the same lobby, myself at B/S still. Not really fun for anyone else down in the grid trying to compete for positions and complete the race when they won't even be able to finish, anyway; at that point, why continue racing if you're just gonna get DNF'd due to poor matchmaking?

I will say I TRY not to care about ratings, and matchmaking q time only rather than spreading the players over a number of rooms worked before when everyone was s.
I try not to care, just gotta reset when it goes up too much. Turns into like work or responsibility or ‘have to podium’ over just enjoying some racing...
I think it worked because when you see the guy ahead take someone out or something it’s like

Then you can take them out if they keep doing it.
One thing though Ihate is when people lift to wait up for the fella they screwed over without thinking of others behind them.
I’ve had people stop in front of me right on the apex or just after leaving me nowhere to go and I’m like

By any chance, do you have a screenshot of the lobby?

A lot of the top split people that I know are playing some game about guys falling down.. weird. So I won't be surprised if that is the case with a lot of the playerbase in general.

PD is trying every type of combo possible , as long as they can shove this damn autopolis track down our throats .....I mean a toyota 86 / autopolis combo on race C what the hell?

I mean, PD isn't forcing you to race it. I can understand the logic of fast car last week, slow car this week. I like that kind of pacing even if the particular track/car isn't too desirable for me.

1 race at Spa in the Scirocco, qualified with 2:28.4 and started pole. It was a lights to flag win with a Corvette creeping up behind after each lap. He came close and finished 0.7s apart then I checked leaderboards after and "Ahh". Pretty sure he would had won if the race was longer but I'll take it.

It's good to see Corvettes in the top 10 for once.

You just responded your own question. Not enough players.
Game is dying in the US.

Not sure if it's dying but think there are a number of factors at play:

1. End of Summer Vacation. Kids are going back to school and parents who play are dealing with all of their associated scheduling and logistics... both groups are too busy to play right row.

2. End of Nations/Manufacturers Series. People are a bit burnt after the seasons and are taking a break for a little bit.

3. Transitioning to other games. ACC and F1 2020 recently dropped and are getting better. PC3 is also dropping in 10 days.

4. Penalty system burnout. People are sick of the penalty system and each responsible driver who quits the game just increases the relative % of punters.

5. Poor lobby matching. The 4 factors above lead to a spiral of poor lobby matching as there are fewer and fewer players to bundle into each A/B/C daily race.

On Monza with the 1 minute incorrect tire use penalty, sometimes it would take well over 2 minutes for the race results to be done with. Pretty excessive and still people didn't manage to finish in time (and some 1 or 2 laps down). Matchmaking is terrible in the Americas. It used to be mostly reserved to SR.S yet with all the DR resets and alt accounts you'll find 'out of place' fast runners starting in most SR ranges, clean or dirty.

^^^^an awful lot of previously A A plus S absolutely deserved to get wrecked by the pen system... Bunch of jerks that lot. Good riddance!

Except they're not gone, they are timing out honest racers in lower SR lobbies. And then they'll be back in SR.S. Yoyo system.

Agreed and tired of the same races / tracks. Spa GR.4 again, Autopolis again, N200 one make again.

Daily sport activity is trending downwards
https://www.kudosprime.com/gts/stats.php?stat_preset=daily_sport_activity

Weekly had a big bump due to stay at home, which is gone now
https://www.kudosprime.com/gts/stats.php?stat_preset=weekly_sport_activity

That only estimates how many players did at least one race for a day or the week. For me it varies a lot, I can do 1 or 2 races or 30+ in a day  Flight Simulator unlocks tonight so I'll be playing that instead.

Yeah plus I think the way the game is setup it funnels players to FIA then they stop using dailies, which is a shame.
The whole concept of this ‘free trip around the world for events’ carrot dangle has run its course.
It never applied to 99.99 percent of players in the first place. But, risking the good matching in FIA in a daily sprint race where there’s high likelihood of rank loss isn’t worth it for most people.
If you think about it they could give an option to lock in an FIA matching level then being able to run dailies unranked would be a good option.
Give the player the right to choose locking in a rank for the precious FIA races, then run dailies unranked.
It IS a yo-yo.
A yo-yo isn’t good matching, overall.
It will be interesting to see how sport mode integrates into the next gen game. TBH if it’s largely based on single player career and sport is still playable on ps4 I’d have no reason to go ps5.
You really gotta question ps5. I hate to say that but what are they going to do? Are they going to say “NEW IMPROVED PEN SYSTEM?”
I don’t think many will fall for that. Not if it’s just dr sr with no relation to each individual track. Not if I can go A plus to D in ten races.
I think sport mode is a great first step towards keeping online sim races more mainstream but there’s a lot of rework to be done to improve it over time.
I think a big step would be implementing a starting grid penalty for a fast player picking up too many penalties in the 99 lobby vs dumping them into a lobby with a bunch of D.
The d players don’t like it. It’s a bore for the A plus to runaway by 49 seconds driving alone...
I dunno what the solution is but I know it needs to get better or the next game will fall flat except for the single player grinder types...
There’s more and more driving titles all the time as was alluded to above.

I personally like to show a steady increase in skill. I admit that I'm no top split driver, but I feel like my skill level is better than my 18-20K DR says.

I have no problems winning in Corvettes.

/cries in Corvette

Corvette will have to handle like a scalpel for me to run it. Have had some understeer feelings in the last few Gr. 4 races.
