Been running Race C this week and I’ve had more fun using the ‘08 GTR than the ‘16 models. Set my qualy time in the 2016 Lexus, but I had an even better optimal time in the ‘08 before I decided to just start racing.

In race trim, the older model just felt better to me, and going 6 laps on the mediums was a better strategy for the 08’s. The 16’s were so fast for the first few laps on mediums but I always started reeling them in somewhere around lap 4 or 5.

Fastest lap of the week in-race was 2:06.3, fastest finishing time was 19:17.xx, but that was starting on pole and clean air the whole race.

Here’s a fun one where I went from 5th to 1st before T1, then fell back as the newer cars caught up, only to take the lead back when the Xanavi Nismo GTR came to life later in the race. Fun stuff.

Did a few laps in the GT-R at Sardegna. Was an interesting event when it was Gr.4 Race C. Higher speeds and more grip, might catch many out.

Just tried the BRZ on race A in a low/mid B group. I tried the coasting technique mentioned above in the last turn and was able to exit around 5 mph faster.

Started on pole, managed low 1:31s in the race and won by 7 seconds!

Also had a race where half the field was A+, and it was the dirtiest thing ever. The two A+ drivers that started at the front ended last. My Italian and Spanish isn't great, but the chat consisted of something about their mothers, lots of 'puta', lots of #### and something about risotto.

I think ill stick with my B and C groups, lol.

Nice livery!! :D 👍

thanks for making it! I like that one, snagged it awhile back, probably for an FIA race.

Anytime my good Sir, I’m glad she’s treating you well! There is a matching Miata TC livery to go with that one as well, should you ever have need for it. :)

I had the same misfortune as you in that race B clip. Had a great move for the lead T1L1 & screwed up the Degnars. The Corvette isn’t set up for rally driving. And from your above statement, I should spend some time practicing for the upcoming B race.

Someone took the inside line at the last corner, so I took the outside and stayed on the gas a little longer. Passed him up and hit the throttle right in front of him. Fastest lap with draft help is 1.30s.

Did Race A this morning, quite a few times. Overtook someone in to the final corner, i thought it was clean. But he wasn't too happy afterwards.

So figured I'd ask for opinions on this. Was I too aggressive, should I have waited for the straight?

If he didn't want you to pass he should've driven a bit faster, it would be rude not to pass if he has left you all that room.

Spa has been fun this week:
There's nothing remotely controversial there.
He was unhappy with you? For what???:lol::lol:
Also, his ABS is off. :dopey:
What's wrong with having ABS off?

Vent / rant time! WTF is wrong with people? Racing at Big Willow. All red white and blue field except for one racer. Worked myself from starting 6th to 3rd. Close racing. Bumper to bumper, door to door. All clean. Great racing. Remember that one racer? Dive bombs me and sends me into the desert half way through the last lap. It was no accident. Finish last and lose over a thousand driver points. Of course he was the first one out of the room after the race. Chicken ****.

I hate the ones that dive bomb you then leave the race. There's no revenge when they chicken out.

Yeah, I have received some pretty good Portuguese lessons from my fellow drivers from Brazil. I imagine 'puta' is a term of endearment, no?

Yeah, I'm enjoying learning the circuit again. Very fast and it's going to be tough for first timers and those coming from the back. Just in terms of cars braking early, not knowing which way the corners go or what speed to take them. Thinking a passing opportunity is there and not understanding it's deceptive flow. ;)

Not in any way an official guide. Just one of the Custom Races I did. Been naming bits of the track.

About 16 turns in all.
T1-T2 I named the Top Gun section. It's a real highway through the danger zone. Misjudge the speed and you meet the Armco on exit. Go too slow and a train of cars taste your rear bumper.
T2 usually is a pile up.

T3-T8 is Lost in Space.
"Danger, Will Robinson!"
T3 can be taken in 3rd or 4th. In my past races, some players just float around in this section. They'll follow the esses instead of straightlining this section. Lots of barrier rubbing when misjudged.
Approaching T8 is similar to T2. As seen from my video: could be someone too late on the brakes, loss of aero or even the car ahead braking too early. Makes a good pass or pile up penalty giver.

T9-T10. GT/PD "straight".
A nail-biter if going side-o-by-side-o.

T11 Bell Tower corner.
Heavy braking ,but maintaing some speed is essential for a good exit. And don't catch that track edge on exit!

T12&T13 The Grand Stands.
Into T12 is a good overtaking spot. A pass is also possible into T13. Getting a good run can also set up a pass leading into the final corners.

T14-T16 Wicky Wacky.
Coming out of the Grand Stands, this is a place to get it done on the run to the flag. Maybe a pass on the outside for higher speed thru the corner? Take the inside and run tight to the finish?
Might see some close ones this week.

Have fun. :)

Popped in for a Race A. Saw sturk. We both got punted on the same stretch by different people. :yuck:

Teamwork.
That guy who punted me, is so far beyond :censored:ed, that he couldn't even catch a bus back to :censored:ed.
He rose to the top of the list. I want to punt him so bad, I can taste it.
I am beyond pissed. I'll post a clip shortly. You'll see why.
Also, I believe he's flying a false flag, for several reasons.

I watched the replay. Pretty clear the other car lost control, took you out. Then drove off as if nothing happened. In other words, standard for the Grand Theft Auto region.

Just because you can get away with something, doesn't mean there are no victims. Always remember, victims don't forget. :mischievous:

Something about the last day of a combo. 2 race A. First was a total.punt fest. The winner has a career high SR of 60.:odd:

You can guess what happened every time I ran them down. Told them they were going to live in the dirt next time I saw them. They told me to watch out if i tried:lol::lol:
Unlike them I know where a puntee cant recover there. They quit out of the next lobby.
Cant understand people like that. They are really fast. Career high DR was.like 6K though because they are always reset. Have more days at SR 1 than all others. Record entered 190 odd races, finished 122, 48 wins. Race craft of a drunken hippo.

Oh well, on to the next week. Last time it was Brands Indy and I had days off in the week I got a reset.:guilty:

Not accidental, at all. That was twice. I'll post video shortly.

Here is the first time I raced that guy.

Here is the second time.

This is the third time.

In the post-race chat, he got the opposite of an apology. I let him know that it was 100% intentional, and that there is more to come.
Every time I see him, it will be the same thing (punt on sight). :irked:
Unfortunately, @suprajef had to witness that revenge punt.
